Nov 13, 2010I am trying to streamline the look of my site and I was wondering if there was a way to use the onclick of an image to open up a <input type="file.../>? I want the input to be invisible so it doesn't add clutter to the interface. Here is ultimatly the flow I would ideally have... Image click -> Javascript calls input open. User clicks "open" in the dialog, Input calls some Javascript that calls the click event of the inviable "upload" button. Boom. User clicks image, selects a new one, and I have it automatically on my server without the need for two more buttons... Anyone know if these types of events/functions exists and if so what they are called and how to capture them? Or should I stop making this over complicated and use the method that I know works?

I have to use OpenFile dialogue because I want user to select file. In addition to this, if the file is not available and user just write a name of the file then it should pop-up like "File not found, would you like to create one?

Dec 23, 2010I usually use WebMatrix to manage my database (sdf file). I wonder if it can be possible to manage this database with SQL Management Studio 2008? When I try to open it with SQL Management Studio 2008 I get the error:
Incompatible database version. What's wrong?
BUT When I create a new sdf database with SQL Management Studio 2008, I have no problem for open it again with SQL Management Studio 2008 but if I try to open it with WebMatrix it doesn't work...(server not found?)

Or simply has to be openend as temporary READONLY .Txt File. So that the user can close after viewing it.

Jul 9, 2010I have a question on adding a checkbox to my gridview that is binded to a SQLDatasource control. I have a field called SEL for the checkbox in my table. What I need to do is list the records and be able to check any of the existing checkboxes on any of the rows. When I added the checkbox in there, they are disabled and cannot change them. Is this where I need to use a type of template in the rows? Can they all be allowed to check without turning on the edit for each one individually at a time?
