VS 2010 Conditional Processing In Report (RDLC) File?
Mar 15, 2011
I added a new report template from the Reporting section of the Installed Templates (rdlc extension). I have successfully created a connection and am retrieving data into textboxes that I have placed on the report. My problem is that I want to do a Test in the Expression template, but I cannot seem to do 'if else' statements. Can anybody give an example of how to perform conditional processing for a textbox on an rdlc page. i.e. The expression for just populating a textbox might be:
Code:
=First(Fields!Actioned.Value, "MyData")
What I want to be able to do is something like
Code:
if =First(Fields!Actioned.Value, "MyData") = "val1" then 23 else 25 end if
Coding for this control seem to take VB/VBA Style syntax.
I'm having some troubles defining and passing report parameters to subreports in VS 2010. In VS 2008 in the design view I was able to right click and define the report parameter and have it passed through.
In VS 2010 that prompt is missing. So my question is, how can I pass a value from a parent report to a subreport in VS 2010?
Additionally, this is what is shown in the Report Properties dialog inside of VS 2010:
For the time being I have defined the parameter in the subreport manually in the XML but I'm receiving an error from the main report when I attempt to pass a parameter of any type to the subreport.
The error is :
An error occurred during local report processing. Value cannot be null. Parameter name: value Where I do not have a parameter named value defined anywhere.
I have an issue in report viewer export Receipt into pdf. I am using your code and at time export the file name comes based on pagename. Like Receipt.pdf
If i want send receipt to my customer, i need to include the receipt number like TE724785872/201503-2. user always do wrong enter the receipt number to store in the folder to send the customer later.
It is also very diffcult find receipt on time of sending to customer. We have to open one by one and check and attached in email.
Is there any possible reportveiwer add receipt number automatically on time of export into PDF
I'm designing a layout for a report in VS2008 using SSRS/RDLC format. And every time I setup a part of that report i test it on my workstation to see if everything is ok. But, today, i finished the first page of that report and uploaded it to my hosting server (were it's going to be used), and when i press the button to convert the report to .pdf and download it the layout is completely ruined :-/ When i do the same thing in my workstation every thing 'comes out' beautifully, but up on the server it doesn't .
We have some reports that are loaded on a asp.net webpage via the localreport.render() and a request has come in to hide a logo image if it is displayed inline as html on the page and only show the image if it's rendered as a pdf.
is there any way to determine the render mode in the report so i can create an expression to set the display property to hidden for the logo image if it's not pdf mode?
Can you please point me to an example of how to implement drill down in RDLC? I am in a situation where the first report appears perfectly, but when I click on a drill down link , i get an error A data source instance has not been supplied for the data source 'RecuirtmentDataSet_ProfileTracker'.
im using asp.net crystal report......i just upload the crystal in server and comiled i got error like"The maximum report processing jobs limit configured by your system administrator has been reached".then i just used
I had posted this question on MSDN Forum[URL]But I am not getting any response. Can you please help me. I am really stuck with this rather simple task.My code seems to be correct but still I get the A data source instance has not been supplied for the data source 'DataSet1_Order_Details'.
Our heavily-used VS2005 application uses CR (10.2) for an MSWord-formatted stream to a webservice, and for printing from a CRViewer. We continue to get "Failed to open report" or "The maximum report processing jobs limit configured by your system administrator has been reached". Once the error starts, the only remedy is recycling the application pool, disconnecting current users.
I have used the proper ReportDocument Close() and Dispose(), and even GC.Collect(), in Page_Unload. I upped the Print Job Limit from 75 to 300. After recycling I delete temp files.
1) Is there any way to monitor the use of the CR resources, to see when they increase and get close to the limit?
2) Is there any way to free them without having to disconnect users?
I suspect users are simply closing their browser after printing from an open CR Viewer. It would still go through Page_Unload, right? So maybe I would benefit from closing and disposing the CR Viewer in Page_Unload as well as the click that returns them to the application.
I had assumed that to permit users to page through the report, the CR Viewer had to have ViewState enabled, and remain open through Page_Unload.
I have a report having lakhs of rows, I wana that the report will process page by page. It means when Report run for the first time it will show the first 100 records and after that if user will go to 5th page he will see records from 500 to 600.
Is this possible in SSRS. Also if any one of you explain about On-Demand Report processing then it will be great.
I want to know how to open an RDLC Report in a pop up. I have taken an asp.net web application. I have added an rdlc and created a dataset and a report with the data from datasaet. In the web form I have taken a report viewer control and have binded the report. Now i have a view report button. When I click on viewReport button, the report should open as a popup. if there are any parameters like drop downs in the main page these also should be passed to the popup.
I have created a report (rdlc) in visual studio 2005 web form. However, the client now wants the report to be sent by email at scheduled times. How can i add a scheduler to the report?
Using the Microsoft Report Viewer Control to render a local report seems to operate differently than a server report with regard to the timeout options that can be specified.
I am processing a local report, and after about 30 seconds of trying to get the data back from my SQL Server 2005 stored procedure, I get a TimeOut Exception. I have read that the timeout is set to 30 seconds, so this makes sense. My questions is, for local report processing how do you change the timeout value?
I am working with rdlc reports. I have an asp.net web form where i'll select a parameter (substance name)from a dropdown. When I click on view reports button, the report should open in a pop up. I am passing the ID(substance ID) from dropdown in query string to the popup page.
When I click on view reports button, the report should open in a pop up. For this I have taken report viewer control in another aspx page. The code in the aspx.cs page which contains the report viewer control is as follows :
I have taken two rdlc reports. The main report has the parameter SubstanceID. The child report has parameter substance name. When I click on one particular textbox in main report it should navigate to another report. So, in textbox properties of main report in Navigation tab,I am giving "jump to report"--child report name and parameters "@SubstanceName" and its Parametervalue as :
=Fields!SubstanceName.Value.
When I work out this report in server side reporting(ReportServerProject) it works as expected. But in coding it throws an error :
An error occurred during local report processing.
An attempt was made to set a report parameter '@SubstanceName' that is not defined in this report.
I have taken a report viewer and two ObjectDataSources....one for parent report and other for child report.
The code for the page that contains report viewer is as follows:
I am using Report viewer in asp.net. i am getting all the fields .. my question is while clicking the content from one field i want to open a pdf document (for eg: i am displaying the Details of a Student ,in that details report Mark Certificate is one of the column .in that i am displaying the name of the document . while clicking the name of the certificate i want to open a pdf document which having the mark statement )
I inherited a project whereby a website is utilizing the Membership Provider to allow for new account signups. This site utilizes different domains which point to the same root. In code, different pages are displayed based on which domain was used to connect to the site.
The Membership Provider sends an email confirmation to the end user upon account signup, based on (I'm guessing) some hard coded config value for that contains the From email address. Is there anyway to conditionally specify this From email address at run time? Or is it only possible to use a hard coded config value for this email address?
I havea ReportViewer linked to a Report1.rdlcIn the .aspx I have a datasourcelike this: Select * from DataOne of the field is called CityNow this report renders nicely without error.Ok then I want to create a Report Parameter. Finally it leads to error like thisAn error occurred during local report processing.he definition of the report 'Main Report' is invalid.A Value expression used for the report parameter 'City' refers to a field. Fields cannot be used in report parameter expressions
The definition of the report 'Main Report' is invalid.
The Value expression for the textbox ‘Fullname’ uses an aggregate expression without a scope. A scope is required for all aggregates used outside of a data region unless the report contains exactly one data set.
i get teh above errror for ms reporting services other reports in the same project works fine
I have three tables in my RDLC report. Each table is having table header.Problem is when I run RDLC report, the first tabl's header is scrolling but not scrolling other two tables headers when I am trying to scorll.
I have multiple reports that take the same parameters. Need to create a master report with all the reports merged together. I dont want to copy paste the rdlc files into one large file. found a control by Telerik called ReportBook but it costs money!! [URL] anyone knows something similar? or am i missing something very obvious? using visual studio 2005... will subreports solve my problem? not sure how these work. so say i have a report that lists employers and i create a subreport that lists all employees for a particular empoyer. is it then possible on one rdlc to have the list of employers and a bunch of subreports for each employer's employees?
