VS 2010 - Failed To Decrypt Using Provider / RSA Key Container Could Not Be Opened

Parser Error Message: Failed to decrypt using provider 'WSConfigProvider'. Error message from the provider: The RSA key container could not be opened.
I am trying to copy a website from one server to another, however I am getting the error above

I have copied the entire site so cant think what file it could be missing, however looking at the article [URL] .... I cannot seem to find the location Documents and Settings{UserName}Application DataMicrosoftCryptoRSA on the server, where would this be on a 2008r2 server? And is there some files in there missing which could be causing this error?

Ok this one might be a bit tough to figure out, but each day when users open their application the following error is generated and they can not enter the application: "Failed to decrypt using provider 'EncryptionProvider'. Error message from the provider: The RSA key container could not be opened." Guess what fixes it... I have to open the application 1 time and then all of the users can being to open the application. This is not an issue with the encryption/decryption of the .config never having worked; it works just fine - but not all of the time. It sounds like a permissions issue to me, like me opening the app grants access to the key file for a time period, and the next day the issue starts all over again. Here is what I have already done (actually when I set up encryption originally), as the many, many posts with this issue are resolved with, but none have worked:
- aspnet_regiis -pa "MyWebKeys" "NT AuthorityNETWORK SERVICE"
- aspnet_regiis -pa "MyWebKeys" "ASPNET"
- Gave ASPNET account read access to "C:Documents and SettingsAll UsersApplication DataMicrosoftCryptoRSAMachineKeys" folder
- Gave NETWORK SERVICE account read access to "C:Documents and SettingsAll UsersApplication DataMicrosoftCryptoRSAMachineKeys" folder
I did not do the following, since I am not using the deafult machinekeys, but rather the imported "MyWebKeys" container
- aspnet_regiis -pa "NetFrameworkConfigurationKey" "NT AuthorityNETWORK SERVICE"
- aspnet_regiis -pa "NetFrameworkConfigurationKey" "ASPNET"
Here is how the file is encrypted:
aspnet_regiis -pef "appSettings" "C:MyProject" -prov "MyEncryptionProvider"
"MyWebKeys" are an imported key container on the server, that upon importing reside in the default "C:Documents and SettingsAll UsersApplication DataMicrosoftCryptoRSAMachineKeys" directory. So it appears I have covered everything, right? What am I missing? Do I have to add individual users or groups with the pa command that use my application to allow access to the container? Remember the encryption/decryption does work 95% of the time. It just seems that each day in the morning, I must open the app once prior to the users being able to open the application, which tells me it is a permissions issue because I am an Admin on the server and they are not, but I thought all of this runs under the NETWORK SERVICE account anyways?)

When trying to open a page I am getting this error: Failed to decrypt using provider 'RsaProtectedConfigurationProvider'. Error message from the provider: The RSA key container could not be opened. I did some reading and it seems that this command woudl fix it:

Adding ACL for access to the RSA Key container. The RSA key container was not found. failed . Now, I don't really understand all of this stuff (my boss just said: Heres the problem, fix it).

In tabcontainer there are 4 tabs, for which controls are added dynamically from another button click event.. So now when i change the activetab index the controls are getting vanished. Is it possible to maintain viewstate for tab panel.

I am trying to use the ASP Membership database, and I am having trouble getting the provider connected. I added the following to my Web.Config.

The connectionstring exists, and I am able to use it on the page to load and access a GridView control. In the Website Administration Tool, under Provider, and selecting 'Select a single provider for all site management data', I don't see any providers, indicating that this new provider is not loaded. If I remove the Clear, I do see the AspNetSqlProvider, however when I test it I get the error that it can not connect to the database.

I am using a custom membership provider. I needed to bind a repeater to a membershipusercollection but the only way I could think of was this:
There is no method to return a lcollection of membership users by userid. I basically have a friends table with a userid and a frienduserid field. both are foreign keys to the user table. So say I am userid 1 and I have two friends userid 2 and userid 3.
I needed to get a collection of membership users who are my friends (user 2 and 3)
So I did this:

I get their id's and add them to to list(of Integer) then I loop through the list and get the particular user by id and add them to a membershipusercollection object.
I now need to add paging to my repeater control that uses that collection as a datasource. However the membership provider doesn't give me the ability to specify a pageindex or pagesize etc. It gives me those options in the GetAllUsers function but I need it to work in the above scenario.

I inherited a project whereby a website is utilizing the Membership Provider to allow for new account signups. This site utilizes different domains which point to the same root. In code, different pages are displayed based on which domain was used to connect to the site.
The Membership Provider sends an email confirmation to the end user upon account signup, based on (I'm guessing) some hard coded config value for that contains the From email address. Is there anyway to conditionally specify this From email address at run time? Or is it only possible to use a hard coded config value for this email address?

When I try to insert a record, I get this error : The underlying provider failed on Open.
This error occurs only with IIS and not with VWD 2008's webserver. In the EventViewer I get this Application Error : Failed to generate a user instance of SQL Server due to a failure in starting the process for the user instance. The connection will be closed. [CLIENT: ]

Currently using VS 2005 & MS SQL 2005 Server with a Windows 7 OS and I am unable to generate Update/Insert/Delete queries when using the TableAdapter wizard. I am able to create the Select statament. This is the error message that is displayed in the TableAdapter wizard on completion for each of the Update/Insert/Delete queries "failed to find or load the registered .net framework data provider"
I have seached the web but no one seems to have seen this same issue.
If you know what is causing this let me know. I didn't have this issue while running a XP or Vista OS.

I'm trying to use the Entity Framework with a Firebird database in Visual Studio 2010
Useful info:
Windows 7 64-bit
Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate
Firebird 2.5.0
Firebird .Net Data Provider 2.6
DDEX 2.0.5
I've done:
Installed Firebird server (and it works and I can connect to a database) Downloaded DDEX (I've run the registry files) used the gacutil on the FirebirdSql.Data.FirebirdClient.dll and checked that it indeed was installed and it was Modyfied the machine.config for both 2.0 and 4.0 in 32-bit and 64 bit folders to include the provider in the element When I try to add a connection in the server explorer I choose "Firebird Data Source" and the Firebird data provider and press continue. I the "Add Connection" dialog window I fill in the info "data source, database, user, password.." and press ok and then I get the following error:
Failed to find or load the registered .Net Framework Data Provider Also when I try to add a new Entity Data Model I cannot see the Firebird option.. I can only see SQL options. I really need help on this one as I've spent many hours on this and I cannot get it to work.. I've also read other related questions on SO,

When I tried to deploy the project using DotNet 2.0 using VS2010, it failed and no error message. I make sure all the Framework checkboxes have 2.0 checked. In the prerequisies window, I only checked the installer 3.1. In the Detected Dependencies, The Microsoft .NET Framework is 2.0. The development and target PCs are both XP - SP3. When I unpack the .msi file in the target PC and run the application, it crashed.The only way to make that work is to use VS2005 to perform the setup. Of course, copying the files over to the target PC directory works. So, the VS2010 setup is unpacking something at the target that makes it crash. VS2010 fixed the code-behind fatal bugs and I cannot go back to VS2005 or VS2008. I also noticed that you need to install 3.5 before you can use 2.0 in VS2010... Anybody knows what is going on ?

i got this error while installing vs 2010 setup.anybody have any idea why this problem occured?
CMsiComponent::Install() expects the setup file for Microsoft Application Error Reporting, but the file failed verification.
ISetupComponent::Pre/Post/Install() failed in ISetupManager::InternalInstallManager() with HRESULT -2147467259.
[2] DepCheck indicates Microsoft Application Error Reporting is not installed.
[2] DepCheck indicates VC 9.0 Runtime (x86) was not attempted to be installed.

I have watched the how to video on Creating a Custom Membership provider. So far it works great. My login control interacts well with it etc. Now i've created a Custom Role Provider. I've created a class that inherits the RoleProvider base class and i've added code to each Sub. My question is, what is the best way to implement the role provider, considering I get the Roles etc from the database?

I try to get the user profile settings with this code. But all items in it are empty, in the database they are not empty. So there is going something wrong. First of oll how can i add a provider to the ProfileCommon ? Maybe i'm there then... the usrInfo is filled well...

I've encountered a problem while installing Visual Studio 2010 on Windows 7, I've tried to modify the privileges of the destination folders to no avail, I've also tried to delete everything related to it with a removal tool. The problem is that the installation is always unsuccessful at the same point, providing me a Blue Screen of Death (twice) and the following error message (infinite amount of occasions):

I have the code snippet above in my webconfig file. I am attempting to set the FirstName property in codebehind on a register.aspx page. Like this:

VS says Profile is in System.Web.Profile Namespace. I then use it like this "System.Web.Profile.FirstName", but says first name does not exist in System.Web.Profile.FirstName namespace.
How do I set the property and later retrieve it?
