I've got Visual Stuido 2008 Team Suite + Team Foundation Server + TFS Power Tools running on a Windows XP laptop. Everything uses Windows Authentication.A few weeks ago I changed my Windows password per company security policy. As soon as that happened, I started getting a problem working within TFS. I would be trying to check in or check out a file, or view the history of a file, and I would get the following error: "You are not authorized to access tfs.servername.com". Whenever I get that error, my Windows account has become locked and I need to call the helpdesk to get unlocked.
This issue happens intermittantly...I could be working fine in Visual Studio for several hours and then it'll happen. Sometimes it happens several times in a row - I'll get the account unlocked, and then the next time I try to do something in Visual Studio it locks again.I realize there are a host of ways an account can become locked - believe me, I've run them all out - I don't have any services running on my machine that are tied to my WIndows account, I wasn't logged in to another computer under my old password, I don't have any mapped drives that use my old password. I'm fairly sure there's something in VS or TFS that is causing it - I can work for days without getting into Visual Studio and I don't get the issue. I use SQL Sever 2005 Express, which also uses Windows Auth, and I have no problems. The lockouts only start when I'm doing something in VS.
I just moved into a new computer running Windows 7 pro, and I installed a new copy of VS2010. Now all of my old sites that I made in VS2008 do not have their web.config files. Does anyone know what happens to them in VS2010, or Windows 7?

View 1 Replieshow I can enable .asp files in a simple VS2010 Website project? For example: Start VS2010 Click "File/New Web Site..." Accept defaults Add an html file called "Test.asp" Attempt to open Test.asp (debug project with that file active) and you get the following error: "This type of page is not served. ... is not server because it has been explicitly forbidden. The extension '.asp' may be incorrect " SO, HOW DO I EXPLICITLY ALLOW IT? VS2010 is using the ASP.NET Development Server....

View 1 RepliesI have a VS2010 project that I want to move back and forth between an x86 and an x64 machine. On the x86 machine, several assemblies are located in Program Files, and the path of the assemblies are shown as c:Program Files...... When I move this project to the x64 machine, the same assemblies are located in C:Program Files (x86).... Is there a way that I can confugure VS2010 so I don't have to manually change the path when I move the project from one machine to another?

View 3 RepliesI'll be debugging a site in Visual Studio 2010 and editing an *.aspx or *.ascx file, and without warning, it will lock up so that I can't edit it. There's no message or anything, I just can't type or make any changes. The only way to start editing again is to stop debugging, close the editing window, and then find whatever file I was working on and reopen it. It's a huge pain in the you-know-what. My colleagues are experiencing the same thing, so it's apparently not something with my particular setup. What's the explanation, and how can we make it stop?
Note 1: I've reported this to Microsoft here. If you've experienced this as well, please go there and vote up the bug report.
Note 2: This is not VSS-related, at least in my case. We use VisualSVN, which doesn't use file-system-level locking to mark files as checked out.
I'm thinking about installing vwd 2010 or vs 2010 express but want to know if either offer integrated jquery support.

View 2 RepliesI just recently upgrade my asp.net web project from visual studio 2005 to visual studio 2010. The upgrade was successful with no problems however im missing some features with this project. The One Click Publish feature(which is greyed out) in the header area of Visual Studio 2010 and the Add Config Transforms feature which is no where to be seen when you right click on web.config. When i create a new web project straight from visual studio 2010, these options work fine.
View 1 RepliesVisual Studio 2010 Beta 2 locked up, and when I tried to restart it, it wouldn't load, so I did a devenv.exe /resetuserdata to get it going again. It reset everyhing in my options of the web app/ etc, and now some AJAX conrols don't work such as dragpanel. I assume that it is because something got reset that I haven't enabled again, but can't figure it out.
