Visual Studio :: How To See Align And Make The Same Size In Format Menu
Jun 3, 2010
I'm developing a web form using visual basic.net and visual studio 2008. I noticed I cannot select multiple text boxes and make the them to align all make them the same size. I select one textbox, and then hit ctrl to select more controls, it did't do anything. And also I cannot see in format menu, something like align or make the same size. But if I create a windows form, I can see the options. But I remember I can do this in visual studio 2005 before even for asp.net web form.
I use visual web developer 2010 some commands not appear in the menu when I write it in .asp.cs file like "AffectedRows"and it not work when I write it.I Want to choose this commandes from the menu.
My existing system has Visual Studio 2008 and Visual Web Developer 2010 Express. But Microsoft web installer for Webmatrix has made Wematrix Launch ribbon menu pointing to Visual Studio 2008. How could I make Webmatrix point to Visual Web Express 2010. To make use of IntelliSense and the debugger, I have to manually launch Visual Web Developer 2010 Express.
I'm developing a web form. I use the style sheet for the page and make the font size x-small.
But I noticed all the text boxes in the page looks a little higher than expected comparing with the font of the other text in the page.
Is there an easy way to change all the height of the textboxes on the page? and make new creation of text boxes the same height as all the other controls on the page?
Also I tried to select multiple text boxes to aligh them or make the same size, I remember I can do it in visual studio 2005 before, but now I cannot do it in 2008.
I did it be select one, and press ctrl button to select the other one, but the other one cannot be selected. Did I do something wrong?
I am using VWD 2008 Express and the fonts are really small (actually smaller than that and unreadable) in the Design view. I cannot find any way to make them larger.
We need through command line to build our site (which we already do using msbuild.exe), but the resulting files are way too many and it takes our to ftp it to the server. I am able to publish the website and reduce its size by ~90%; however, we need to do this through command line not manually using the GUI. I have read many postings but noone is clear on how to do it (and msbuild seems to no be able to do this). Can anyone provide me a link. We are using Visual Studio 2010 and DOT NET4.0
I want to have menu aligned to the right side of my div tag. Aligment must be done automaticaly, if I add more menu items menu should realign itself. This works as expected under split view in VS 2008, however in IE and FireFox the menu is aligned to the left.
I was trying to create a new page .But I needed to make the positioning to absolute. But for this the layout menu is invisible.how to add this menu to the visual studio..
I have a web application which should read EDI ( electronic data interchange ) doc to XML format. I need EDI format like 850 purchase order, 856 Ship notice and manifest.
I need a special feature in Visual studio 2010 that i can write css with more comfort.when i use compact rule in css that they make space in style even i not put like ul.foter a:hover{text-decoration: underline; color: #FFFFFF; } Before ul.foter a:hover?{?text-decoration: underline; color: #FFFFFF; } after the format he make space where i put ?. are i can set something that they never make space if i told them.another thing is
[Code]....
when i write css for them something like
#main{} #header{} #secondmain{}[code]....
are their any special way to handle this type css i means do all thing but never thing about space i defined before a property means if i write #header after a tab and space they need to ignore them. a option should be come then i can set them to remove the space even have or not add if they not have.
a another problem is that
https://connect.microsoft.com/VisualStudio/feedback/details/630665/how-to-disable-intellisense-that-i-can-use-them-if-i-want-throug-tab are their anything i can make for making feature depend on my own demand or something they can make that formating in visual studio much easier.
how we can apply navigation panel at bottom of asp.net running panel?I have one aspx page. i want to apply the mail system on my navigation panel. So I can i get bottom navigation panel on mouse over event.
I came across this site and like the top nav menu [URL] can visual studio 2008 generate such a menu like that. Moreover, what about if I want to apply security on what to show in the menu. For instance, I will have 3 departments ( Finance, Accounting and Marketing ) each department has its own apsx page. Depending on role, I need to show / not show a page under each department. How can I enforce such thing.
I copied a heap of javascript code to my page. I need to modify it. But the formatting is messed at the same time. The brace brackets don't match. Is the a good way to format it?
One button I always had on the 'HTML Source Editing' toolbar was Format Document, as found in the Edit menu, however in VS2010 it isn't visible. If I go to add it, it doesn't exist in the options. The toolbar currently holds Format Selection, Decrease Indent, Increase Indent, Comment, Uncomment, Schema and accessibility.I bring up the Customize dialogue box (Add or Remove Buttons/Customize), then in the Commands tab I click Add Command... In the Add Command dialogue box, I choose Edit from the categories list on the right and yet in the commands list, Format Document isn't there anymore as it was in VS2008.Yes I could just use the Edit menu command, or even the keyboard shortcut, but that's too long-winded and the toolbar button is now sorely missed.Has this been somewhat arbitrarily removed from VS 2010 or is it hidden elsewhere?
this sound may too easy, but for a person who has no idea about the asp.net is not. I am using visual studio 2008 and I want to add a drop down menu in my page. does any body have any idea how to add this please? The dropdown menu should be linked to a table from an access database since I am going to collect the data with C# therefore I decided to post in in this forum.
I have a very vexxing issue. After installing a third-party application and add-in for VSTS 2008, it has corrupted my menus/buttons by duplicating/cascading these throughout studio (i.e. Multiple sets of each menu - File, Edit, View, etc, each of which has multiple submenu entry sets). I have tried to use Add-In Manager to uninstall it and removing the application (which added the Add-in to VSTS). I tried Tools->Customize and resetting the MenuBar and ContextMenu options as well. I tried running each of the following (closing and then reopening VSTS after each) from the command prompt, which completed but did not fix things.
My question then, does anyone know a way to reset the menus/toolbars for VSTS 2008 to their defaults or correct this some other way? I know I can unistalll both products and resolve this but I *really* want to be able to use the third party app (Red Gate's SQL Prompt).
I have a trial version of VS2010 and created a simple out of the box ASP .Net web application. I have been playing around with the css file for the project and have yet to figure out how to effect the menu tabs.
For years now, I always added the "Format Document" icon to my HTML Editing toolbar. It always was difficult to find this in VS2008 and VS2005. It seem it has been completely eliminated in VS2010.Does anyone have any idea where is might be in the Customize toolbar myriad of commands?I realize it is available under the Edit drop down menu as well as keyboard command Ctrl K, Ctrl D. But is is just so much more helpful to put it on the toolbar.
