Visual Studio :: Shortcut For Inserting Event Name/method?
Jun 17, 2010
There is no way I'm the only one who thinks that I'm missing such a shortcut in Visual Studio. In the markup (aspx) I begin writing the event name "On..." then choose the event I need. What I'm looking for now is functionality for auto-inserting the event name and the delegate method in the codebehined exactly as it's done from the Design view. It's a simple and very helpful functionality that's obviously missing - or I havn't been able to localize it yet.Does any one know if it can be done in VS? Maybe using ReSharper?
Is there any way that I can get the list of All the available shortcut key options listed from within IDE itself in Visual Studio 2008/2010? Because every time I used to bing and find on web for that.
its simple question: if my edit cursor in at line 1 I wantto Quick jump to 5 and backforth again (to line 1) is there a Jump Shortcut between Corresponing End/Begin tags ?
I m looking for a Shortcut to :Delete currentline and below lines 1 line upward. currently Ctrl+X (without selection) does this. But it also removes clipboard to empty text.
isnt there a shortcut Just deletes current line and 1 line upward next lines without clearing Clipboard ?
VS2010 inserting random code? In 2008, which I use at work, it keeps filling my code with . At home, with VS2010, it keeps adding a <p> to the beginning of every </p><p> section, and things get out of hand quickly when all paragraphs are changed to <p></p><p>...
I am using Visual Studio 2010 for an MVC website project. I have an big problem and dont know hot to solve it. When i am looking to the output of html in firebug indents in my aspx and ascx files are outputed as space in same places. I think its about line ending of files but i am not sure how to fix them. I am adding some pictures about problem.
When i am adding a breakpoint it also add red background to spaces (this is problem) I try to delete spaces after hit ctrl+k d same problem happen. If i delete all indents make page 1 line without spaces output is fine but it not a solution.
I have my local Dev environment VS2K8 (ASP.NET) and our Dev server with no Dev tools. I have an app that runs just fine locally, but once I move to the Dev server I get an error. Another part of the problem is that I am moving the compiled dll for the website so I am not even getting the .cs line in the event log so it is very difficult to debug on the Dev server.
I am working on Vs2005 and asp.net 2.0. I have a solution with 4 projects (business object, components, data access, webclient)When I change any existing method or property in Business object or data access, it is not reflecting in the application. I have deleted the existing references to the project and added them after the new build. I always get errors like "method not found or No overload method "It seems like old verion of dll is still there in the reference.
Im using VS2010 Beta2. In its default new asp.net application we have the register.aspx page and there is a button called create user. But i am unable to get to the button click event of it since the whole pagecontent is being selected when i go to design view.
I haven't done much C# programming in a year - now I can't remember how to insert button click event code into the code behind page for an asp.net button in the html side. I know there's a slick way to do it, bit I can't find it anywhere. I remember that it automatically created the event code from the, for example, Button1 element. The event would then be Button1_Click(...).
I have recently upgraded from VS2008 to VS2010 after a few months away from ASP.NET coding and I am hitting a problem I never had before. I seem to remember having a lightning bolt icon in the properties window for a web form that would automatically create the skeleton event handler code for any one of a range of page events. However, I cannot see this lightning bolt anywhere in VS2010.
Is there a way to know what parameters are needed by an event in Visual Studio 2010?Let's say I have a DropDownList control and I want to bind a method to the "OnSelectedIndexChanged", I would do something like thisn the ASPX File:
I want to use a source control in VS2010, I know my best bet is TFS, but at the moment TFS(can't afford ). As i understand TFS is the new VSS_2005(can afford)Can VSS 2005 be use as a source control for VS 2010 solutions/projects?
I am currently attempting to use Visual Studio 2010 'Publish' and MSDeploy functionality to handle my web deployment needs but have run into a roadblock with regards to customizing the package depending on my build configuration.
I develop in a 32bit environment but need to create a release package for a 64bit environment, so in the 'Release' configuration I have a post build event that copies the 64bit version of a third-party dll into the bin directory overwriting the 32bit version. When I use the 'Publish' functionality, even though the correct 64bit dll is being copied to the bin directory, it doesn't get included in the package.
Is there a way to get the 'Publish' to include files that have been copied into the bin directory during a post build event?
I just recently upgrade my asp.net web project from visual studio 2005 to visual studio 2010. The upgrade was successful with no problems however im missing some features with this project. The One Click Publish feature(which is greyed out) in the header area of Visual Studio 2010 and the Add Config Transforms feature which is no where to be seen when you right click on web.config. When i create a new web project straight from visual studio 2010, these options work fine.
Visual Studio 2010 Beta 2 locked up, and when I tried to restart it, it wouldn't load, so I did a devenv.exe /resetuserdata to get it going again. It reset everyhing in my options of the web app/ etc, and now some AJAX conrols don't work such as dragpanel. I assume that it is because something got reset that I haven't enabled again, but can't figure it out.
Im working on a website project with Visual Studio 2010 from 2 different computers (home & work). In Dreamweaver Im used to FTP to upload/download files to/from a webserver to syncronice my files on the current computer Im working on.What is best option in Visual Studio 2010 to sync project files between home & work computers? I have seen there is a built in FTP, but seems only it can upload files, limited functionality?
