When I run a web program from visual studio .net 2008 then it output is displayed in Mozilla Firefox and a error is appear 'page load error, try again'. If I copy the url and paste it to the Internet explorer then it runs. How can I recover this problem and set Internet explorer as default browser for Visual studio .net 2008

I have a website on visual studio 2008 on my local machine. When I run through the debugger I get the following error, however when I browse the same website through the IIS manager (running IIS7.5), I can browse it. What do I need to fix to run it through debugger? The website is set as an application.

I have just installed IIS manager version 6.1 build 7600 and visual studio 2010 (latest additions of both).
I have followed all the instructions and given the correct permisions ect for IIS to work with my directory. I have a helloworld website that has worked via the localhost server many times, but almost hourly something happens to the settings in IIS and it starts throwing errors.
The current error copied below. Basically I am wondering a few things...
1. Why does my IIS constantly do something so that it works one minute and then it wont the next (this is with an identical helloworld.htm file so I know it is not something I am doing with the file that is messing it up).

I downloaded and installed VS 2010 Ultimate as a trial and I received "sucessful" message at the end of the installation.
But when I opened VS 2010 Ultimate I received this warning "The 'Visual Studio HTML Editor Package' package did not load correctly.' error message".
The next thing I know is that all the Toolbox icons are grayed out (I tried to create a .NET web application). There is no design/split pane.
When clicking on design view button - Received error "Microsoft.VisualStudio.Xaml" has failed to load properly(GUID = {E58C2A8B-BCC4-4559-AD59-D62EB6D58A22}). Possible environment corruption.

View 2 RepliesI am having an issue in VS 2010 trying to get even the default ASP.NET Web Application to run in Debug mode. I get the error:
"Unable to start program 'http://localhost:1443/Default.aspx'.
The system cannot find the file specified."
I am stumped here and cannot find anything out there with this error.
I Have a problem here with Visual Web devoloper 2010 , When I click the "Asp.net Configuration" , the browser doesn't open the Web Site Administration Tool but the icon does appear in the notification area , on right clicking the icon it opens up the Web Site Administration Tool in the browser and displays "An error was encountered. Please return to the previous page and try again."
On the other hand I don't have any issues using "Asp.net Configuration" with Visual Web Devoloper 2008
As that title says my aspx page shows a compile error on the @Page directive that says "ASP.NET runtime error: Cannot load file or Assembly 'Microsoft.SqlServer.BatchParser' or one of it's dependencies". The project compiles with our error and it runs with no problem. The only real problem that this causes it that the intellisense for anything other than simple HTML is broken so I can't type asp:Controlname and have intellisense show me a the list of items or properties in a control. I get a green squiggly line under all the asp tags saying "Unrecognized tag prefix or device filter 'asp'". This project doesn't directly use SQL SMO but it does reference a project that does. However, I removed that reference and the problem still doesn't go away. I have installed on my development machine the full SQL client and for both SQL 2005 and 2008 (including the SDK) from the Developer editions of both versions. This was not a problem on VS2005 and the project compiles without error in VS2010 too.

unable to open the web 'ftp://209.*.*.*/httpdocs'. The computer is disconnected from the network.
Why can't I connect to the remote site on visual studio 2005? I can do the same thing on Dreamweaver with no problem. I can ping the IP successfully. I can open the ftp URL on a web browser with no problem.
I have upgraded to VS2010 recently. Now VS2010 is not opening i get an messg box displaying. Microsoft Visual Studio has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. It automatically gets restarted and displays the same message. I have re-installed VS more than 3 times.

After installing, whenever i create a solution in VS2008, i am able to create it properly. if i double-click the solution file, i am able to open the project. Recently i had a problem in my IIS 5.1 and i uninstalled it and the installed it again. After doing that whenever i try to open a VS2008 solution file, i am getting the following error The selected file is a solution file, but was created by a newer version of this application and cannot be opened.". I even tried creating a blank solution using
File->New->Project->Other Project Types-> Visual Studio Solutions-> Blank Solution.
I then added a new project to this solution. I closed the solution and again when i double-click on the newly created solution file i am getting the same error as previous one. I found some solution in the net, tried that and didn't work at all.
I have a vb.net application which I'm trying to run in VS 2008. The application builds successfully, however, when I try to debug the windows application it throws the following error, "Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {794D671E-F0F0-11D2-BEB0-009027438003} failed due to the following error: 80040154." I've been searching for a solution for a few days now with no luck. I've tried to register the referenced DLLs (w/regasm command), messed around with the configuration manager, etc. Also, please note that the application ran successfully in Windows XP, but it no longer seems to work since I've upgraded my OS to Windows 7 (I've tried to run the application in x64 and x84 platforms w/no luck). Also, I'm referencing the following DLLs:
INTEROP.ASPEMAILIB.DLLINTEROP.SCRIPTING.DLLINTEROPS.MSXML2.DLL
Is it possible that some of these DLLs aren't supported in Windows 7?
I'm running Visual Studio 2010 and IE9 and integrating with facebook and the facebook javascript code keeps resulting in exceptions... 'Error: '__flash__removeCallback' is undefined' which I can't do anything about.
Visual Studio keeps on telling me about each and every one of these exceptions every time I load the webpage that I'm working on which makes doing anything else difficult. I managed to switch off this behavior by enabling Silverlight debugging because apparently the debugger can only work with one of the other.
But now the browser keeps telling me about the same exceptions even though I've disabled script debugging and have de-selected 'Display a notification about every error'.
So how do I stop Visual Studio from telling me about numerous Javascript exceptions that I can't do anything about? Why can one not just configure it to, 'do not debug javascript from the following domains'?

I have an asp.net mvc 1.0 project. I upgraded the project and solution to Visual Studio 2010. However, I do not want to use asp.net mvc 2.0. My app compiles under mvc 1.0. All my references are to 1.0. I have copy local true and i am referencing mvc 1.0 from a lib folder, not the GAC.However I keep getting this error:

Its like it wants to keep using asp.net mvc 2.0, because its complaining about that GetControllerInstance method. This project works fine in vs 2008.
I had to reload vwd 2008 express and sql 2008 express on my laptop. After loading cannot launch vwd, get this error message. Can anyone please suggest a remedy "Failed to generate a user instance of SQL Server due to a failure in starting the process for the user instance. The connection will be closed."
View 1 RepliesIf I build my project and there are errors, the build fails, and for the last 4 years I've been using Visual Studio the error list panel has always popped up showing why the build failed. Now, the tab for the error list panel is visible at the bottom of my screen, but grayed out, so I can't click on it. This started happening yesterday. I've tried rebooting, the project build is set to Debug, and in the Tools/Options/Projects and Solutions menu, "Always show Error List if build finishes with errors" is checked.
