Visual Studio :: Microsoft.sqlserver.types In 2010?
Jan 19, 2010
I am trying to use sql spatial in visual studio 2010 with asp.net 4.Where did microsoft.sqlserver.types go?Does this mean you can't use SqlGeometry or SqlGeography in asp.net 4?
We have developed apllication in Microsoft VS 2008 and when we opening this same application with Microsoft VS 2010. Then it's asking to convert.
So can anybody tell me what it is converting exactly. Means it's open application in Microsoft VS 2010 and running properly also. But i am understanding whats happning while converting.
I have written an ASP.NET page that accesses a SqlServer 2008 database and utilises the new spatial types. In order to use these types in my .NET code, I had to install the SQL Server System CLR Types addin to get the Microsoft.SqlServer.Types.dll file.I added the file to my GAC and referenced it from my ASP.NET project. I compiled all the projects in my solution in "Any CPU" mode and it runs fine on my development machine. However, when I deploy it to my hosting provider, I get the following exception when I access the page that uses the SqlGeography type:
System.BadImageFormatException: An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007000B)
at Microsoft.SqlServer.Types.GLNativeMethods.GeodeticIsValid(GeoMarshalData g, Boolean& result) at Microsoft.SqlServer.Types.GLNativeMethods.GeodeticIsValid(GeoData g) at Microsoft.SqlServer.Types.SqlGeography.IsValidExpensive() at Microsoft.SqlServer.Types.SqlGeography.ConstructGeographyFromUserInput(GeoData g, Int32 srid) at Microsoft.SqlServer.Types.SqlGeography.GeographyFromBinary(OpenGisType type, SqlBytes binary, Int32 srid) at Microsoft.SqlServer.Types.SqlGeography.STGeomFromWKB(SqlBytes wkbGeometry, Int32 srid)
....A quick google on the error code seems to suggest that the problem is something to do with loading a 32bit dll into a 64bit runtime. I've checked with my hosting provider and they are running Windows Server 2008 x64 and they told me that my website is running in a 64 bit ASP.NET runtime.I can't seem to find a 64 bit version of the Types dll and compiling my program in "x86", "x64" or "Any CPU" modes seems to make no difference. Is there any way that I can get around this problem without having to pay to host my website on it's own machine?
Can Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Express use only 30 days? After I click Help ->About Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Express menu, I find "Only 27 days remaining"!
In Microsoft Visual Web Developer 2010 Express, Edit->Quick Find mean item, the "Quick Find" item, everytime I have to select "Find In Files" again, how can I set "Find In Files" as default?
I just used the wonderful tool Microsoft Ajax Minifier and it's working very well when I build my MVC application on my machine but when I check-in in source control and started build by the Team Build 2010 it doesn't create the min files, for sure I can't put the mini files inside the source control as the recommendation from the Microsoft Ajax Minifier because it's like the dll it's generated every time you build your application so no need to put it in source control beside it can't be because you will need always to check-out this file to build and this will prevent other from build using the team build, so what I need to do to make generate the mini file with team build 2010?
I am developping the ERP Web Application. My solution structure is as given below. Main Web Application - Having reference to All Module Web Application. Common Web Application - Has Master Page, User Control, Login page, Defualt Error and etc Module Web Application - Having Module wise Aspx and code behind. It refer Common Web Application to reduce redundacy. In this Context we are facing the following problem.
1) while running web application in the debug mode it gives error as 'the target assembly contains no service types. You may need to adjust the Code Access Security policy of this assembly'
2) Could not Debug both Module and Common Web Application.
3) In Design Time both Master or user control not renders in refered Aspx Page.
4) While I debug in visual studio 2010, it gets restart after some time.
I tried to install Visual Studio Prof 2010 trail version in my system, but i got an error saying 'Please remove/uninstall Visual Studio 2010 load test controller' to proceed installation. i uninstalled my previous VS2008 software from system and i could not find anything like 'Remove/Uninstall Visual Studio 2010 load test controller' software in my Add/Remove Programs.
I have been ising TFS 2010 with VS 2010 Ultimately for a couple of months now. I have a client who is using Visual Web 2010, does anyone know if this integrated with TFS easily?
I just recently upgrade my asp.net web project from visual studio 2005 to visual studio 2010. The upgrade was successful with no problems however im missing some features with this project. The One Click Publish feature(which is greyed out) in the header area of Visual Studio 2010 and the Add Config Transforms feature which is no where to be seen when you right click on web.config. When i create a new web project straight from visual studio 2010, these options work fine.
Visual Studio 2010 Beta 2 locked up, and when I tried to restart it, it wouldn't load, so I did a devenv.exe /resetuserdata to get it going again. It reset everyhing in my options of the web app/ etc, and now some AJAX conrols don't work such as dragpanel. I assume that it is because something got reset that I haven't enabled again, but can't figure it out.
Im working on a website project with Visual Studio 2010 from 2 different computers (home & work). In Dreamweaver Im used to FTP to upload/download files to/from a webserver to syncronice my files on the current computer Im working on.What is best option in Visual Studio 2010 to sync project files between home & work computers? I have seen there is a built in FTP, but seems only it can upload files, limited functionality?

I lately installed vwd express, and including this installation I installed (automatically) also the sql express 2008.I had a problem with my vwd, and I got an advice of removing it and install again. I removed it, and removed also the sql express. Now I understand that I probably shouldn't have done it, but I did.I also removed manually some folders that relate to the sql server (after I unistalled the sqlserver thru "add remove programs").I reinstalled the vs 2008 express, but this time it didn't install again the sql express.I entered to this page: [URL] and tried to install it by myself. It opened the installation
and after a few seconds it said that the sql was installed. Maybe it still recognizes something that was left...I entered the registry and deleted the relate files to sqlserver. I tried to install again, but still the same phenomena.I need an advice what to do. I have no problem with uninstall the vs 2008 express, and install it all over again, but I knowthat again - the sql won't be installed.I hope I gave here all the required details.
