I have recently installed VS2008 standard edition after using VS2008 express and VS2010 Express (on this same laptop) running Windows 7 Build 7100.
On clicking "Debug" the error appears:
"Unable to start program
[URL]
The debugger is not properly installed. Cannot debug the requested type of code. Run setup to install or repair the debugger."
This is for a Web Site - File System originally created in VS2008 express.
I'm trying to debug an ASP.NET application. I've created a virtual directory in IIS, copied all the binaries and web.config there. When I pass request from the client program running on the same computer aspnet_wp.exe is started but then something goes wrong.
I want to attach to the process and try debug it. When I ask Visual Studio to "Attach to process" it displays a list of processes and aspnet_wp.exe, inetinfo.exe and dllhost.exe are all displayed grayed as if they are already debugged by some other program and so I can't attach to any of them.
I have tried to disable the "debug" option in web.config:

but it didn't change the behavior.What's happening and how do I make aspnet_wp, inetinfo and dllhost all start in such way I can attach a debugger to either of them?
came up with the following error when i tried to run my asp.net application.The error is : Unable to Attach.The Binding Handle is invalid.Do you wish to continue?If i click Yes, application is running but could not able to debug.Then I referred to microsoft blogs and tried the following solution control Panel-->Administrative tools-->Services-->Terminal ServicesI changed startup type to "Manual" ,restarted my machine.But it's not working for me.Even i tried by also reinstalling .net2.0, then also it's not working..It will be difficult to go thro' the code if debug fails..

However, it stills tries to find initially-called stored procedure (which is neither called or exists).I think that it is related caching. View 4 RepliesThis has bother me for a long time but I cannot believe there is no such a simple function. I start a new query through the "Server Explorer". The query builder is brilliant and I can easity build and test my queries. The only problem is: there is no way to save it!
If I want to use this query as a stored procedure, I need to create a new stored procedure through "Server Explorer" and than copy the query into it. And I also need to define all the parameters(filters) to finish that strored procedure. This is a boring and frastrated job as I belive the query builder has all the information to as this query into the stored procedure.

suddenly, with my Visual Studio 2008 I can no longer debugging my web applications (ASP.NET 3.5). I obtain this error: Unable to start debugging on the web server. Click Help for more information. View 1 RepliesI am developing a web application in which I am suddenly facing an issue. I have a webpage which contains many controls, one of the control is JQuery color picker. Now, I am upgrading my system with telerik controls. As part of this process, I replaced textbox(txtcolor) with radcolorpicker with a different id(colorPicker). Suddenly, my code behind file is not throwing any errors like 'unable to find txtColor'. It is running successfully without build errors. But, when I open the page, system is throwing runtime exception(txtColor not found) which is correct.
I tried to change other controls with asp.net controls, still the problem persists. So, I dont think it is anything to do with telerik.

I need to get count down for a reason in vs.net 2005. in my vs i cant find timer controle in toolbox as well as in the component list.
i tried with any other pc i got that timer control on it on trhe other hand that timer_tick is not fired in that .
In the Visual studio IDE is it possible to step backwards in the debugger? If this is not possible,can I somehow trace my step backwards in the compiler?
Also if I am stepping through C# code in the debugger, is it okay to add documentation in the file while I am debugging? I tried this and recieved a pop-up message box informing me that the code had changed. Otherwise the IDE seemed forgiving in regards to comment changes in debug mode. Also I guess this might also lead into the question of wether it is acceptable to add code during debug mode?
My Visual Studio debugger detaches every time when I try to access a property in a web application. I don't use Visual Studio's inner webserver, just the standard IIS. It seems like that property has somewhere a stack overflow

I've tried to delete all temp folder including ASP.NET temporary files, no change at all. I've tried to start devenv.exe /log
but in the log xml, there was hardly any exception. Is there any way to get that exception which causes the debugger to stop/detach?
Plus info is that another colleague can debug that property. I've tried to get his vssetting file, but no change.
