I have a webpart which contains a dropdownlist in the Webpaart property and its working fine. The code is below.

I need the 1 since it's a foreign key in another table. For the life of me, I can't get this to work like this.
I am getting Range1 and Range2 from database. Dataset is like below.

AB300 XY400
AB500 XY600
I have to bind these ranges to a Drop Down List as list items includung range number in my application.So list item should be like ==> 1 AB100 XY200 . When user selects a range I have to pass
Range1 and Range2 to database.
How can I bind the two ranges with range number to Drop Down List.

adding data from more than one columns of a table in drop down list but not concatening them.
Like a table having columns Station_1 , Station_2 , Station_3. All these columns having place names.
Now I want to list the distinct station/place names from each columns Station_1, Station_2 and Station_3 in my drop down list.

I cannot get the Drag and Drop functionality of Web Parts is to work. I have a very simple test page with two WebPartZones.. In the OnInit method of the code behind I put the page in design mode. In the first zone I have a textbox.At runtime the text box renders as a web part. When I hover over the web part header my mouse pointer changes the 'move' pointer, but I cannot drag the item. I do not see it dragging and the part never moved. I am using Visual Studio 2010 with IE 8. I have tried IE8 in compatibility mode and regular mode. The results are the same. Here is the markup from my test page:

i'm having this issue, in ASP.NET MVC 2 where I'm adding a drop down list on the master page and filling it with data from an abstract master controller. When an option is selected an submit button clicked, it reroutes you to a new page. so lets say
the page lives on http://domain.com/landingPage i'm on: http://domain.com/landingPage i select option and submit takes me to
http://domain.com/landingPage/Projects/FramedPage i select again and now the post tries to go to:
http://domain.com/landingPage/Projects/landingPage/Projects/FramedPage because of the action="" i have set on the form tag.

View 6 RepliesI need to read a Property/variable from outside the webpart usercontrol to determine a course of action. This is not the same as using the Property Editor.
I have numerous usercontrol webparts all accessing the database.
When minimised, I don't want the webpart to hit the database.
So, I need to either : detect within the usercontrol webpart itself that its chromstate is minimised and therefore not access the database (and)or from the Webpartmanager loop through webparts, determine those that are minimised and set a variable / property within the webpart to inform it not to access the database on postback.
Something like...(pseudoCode)

I have a problem on adding a webpart to sharepoint page.
I have a blank page in the sharepoint, and I have a custom control uploaded to the site, on adding the webpart the the sharepoint page I get the following error:
"Attempted to use an object that has ceased to exist. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80030102 (STG_E_REVERTED))"
I get that error even if the sharepoint page is totally blank and so is the web part.
I have drop down list box that I would like to show two columns, is this possible? Or can it be done with a list box?The query correctly retrieves all of the table data to be displayed, one colum is an abbreviation, the other a bit longer description.

The first webpart (MyTestingWebpart1) basically it does only inserting of data and the other webpart (MyTestingWebpart[2]) displays the records from the database. Now my problem is when I try to click on the save button, somehow I don't know how to refresh the webpart that displays the newly inserted record. Is this possible?
I have added a query at the page load event of MyTestingWebPart[2]. Both of the webparts attached are web user controls.

I have two drop down list on a page. The first one list projects and the second list users. The userlist is populated with an object datasourse that pulls a list of users for the selected Project.Whenever the Project list selection changes the second ddl Userlist always reverts to the first person in the list instead the person that was selected before a new Project was chosen.
