Is there any application similar to CLR Profiler that I could use for my web applications?
Or maybe I can just use CLR Profiler for IIS also? But I do not know how to indicate which web application I wan observe.
I would like to monitor all the queries running under Oracle which are being fired. Looking for some good UI tool for Oracle similar to Microsoft SQL Server Profiler.

We installed a web site on a developer's system (me, actually) which web site has been installed on six or seven Server 2003 systems. As the subject says, my system is XP, running IIS 5.1. The problem is that the Session object seems to be missing. Certainly,the stuff we store in there, one perfectly normal string, can't be found by any of the pieces of the website that want it. (It get's stored in the login script. It's the name the user logged in with.)We've tried both SQLServer and StateServer with the same results. When using SQL, the SQL Profiler shows activity against the SQLState database (TempSessions table). So something is being stored, but nobody can find it. (And I can't see from the SQL Profiler just what's being stored. The SessionItemShort field is being updated, but I can't tell with what.)
View 2 RepliesI'm trying to run a trace with Sql Server Profiler against an Asp.NET Website Application running in Visual Studio development server.
However, whenever the trace is running, all db requests from the web application fails giving me the error message:
"Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding."
If I stop the trace, the web application works again.
I am working on some application. We are using Sqlserver2008. We dont have Sql profiler to trace stored procedure and all. We can't install also imidiately.
can anyone give some idea how to trace which stored procedure is hiting my Sql server.
we are using asp.net 2.0 and sqlserver2008.

However, I don't know whether or not the growths I'm seeing are supposed to be there or not (for instance, System.String grows a lot each snapshot. Should it?)I don't understand the whole memory processso I don't know if I am interpreting the results correctly or not. How do I interpret the results of the ANTS Memory Profiler?

I'm trying to run the performance wizard on an ASP.Net website. However, whenever I try to start it I get the following error.
"The website contains unexpected information or you do not have permission to access the metabase. You must be a member of the Administrators group on the local computer to access the IIS matabase. Therefore, you cannot create or open a local IIS website. If you have Read, Write, and Modify Permissions for the folder where the files are located, you can create a file system website that points to the folder in order to proceed"
I am an Administrator on my machine. Tried googling but came up with nothing. Anyone run it before and know how to deal with it?
I think I have a problem that I never noticed before. I was just recently (as in tonight) shown the SQL Server Profiler. I noticed that on a video that I watched there profiler did not move unless there was a query to the database, thus making it easy to see what exactly was going on. When I opened mine for the first time and ran it I am getting 9 logs every say 5 seconds. They consist of;
Audit Logout
RPC:Completed
Audit Login
RPC:Completed
RPC:Completed
SQL: BatchStarting
SQL: BatchCompleted
SQL: BatchStarting
SQL: BatchCompleted
Does anyone know if this is normal or my database just working way to hard?
I just restarted the server and checked databases for active connections now that I know nothing is running, and found the one database that is causing the problem... ReportServer has 4 connections after my restart. Should I leave this alone? Is it normal to have this reporting constantly going on?
is there a version of this available for the professional version of VS2008 ? From what I can find its targeted at the team version

I have downloaded the 14 day trial of ANTS Memory Profiler and have been playing with it to get a grip of what it's telling me. In the memory options on the timeline, I can see Bytes in All Heaps and Private Bytes etc but I am not sure which ones I should be focusing on to see where the memory spikes and doesn't go back down.I am profiling a ASP.NET website using ASP.NET 2.0.

I'm looking for a way to providing users (administrators) of a web application to automatically (meaning it's opt-in to update, but the installation should be automatic when started) update said web application when new versions are released.
The reason why I want an automatic approach is that I want the users to be able to update the web application while it's running remotely, without having to gain physical access to the machine (including RDP).
I could of course write my own code for this, but I would prefer to use something like ClickOnce that has been around for a while. Is it possible to use ClickOnce for this?
Or is there an alternative for ASP.NET applications that I have not been able to find?
It is important that it's the user that does the update and not me, so I don't think WebDeployment is the way to go, but I'm willing to listen to scenarios where this would work.
The users are not system administrators, so I want this to be as fool proof as possible.
I'm using Visual Studio 2010, ASP.NET 2.0 (.NET 3.5). If a solution requires switching to version 4, this is possible, but not preferred.
We have a Web Role that we are hosting in Windows Azure that uses an old ASMX based Web Reference to contact an external system. The Web Reference proxy code is big enough that instantiating it the first time has a significant cost.
We'd like to be able to have this run when the Web Role starts instead of on the first request.
I know IIS 7.5 has an Application Warm-Up module that would allow us to achieve this, but I'm having trouble figuring out if something similar exists with hosting on Windows Azure.
I'd like to know if there is a possibility to display dates in form of a gridview. I.e. one date horizontally (something like a

The end user uses this application to make his own screen templates, save the information in xml and get the screen in run time. This works fine for windows based application. Current Problem: Its difficult to provide such screen designer application in web. I mean Drag & drop the controls in web page during the run time. So we are planning to use windows application to design the template. And during the run time user should get his own designed template on web page. We are trying to display the similar web form like as windows form with matching controls. let me know what are the options available to solve this problem.

in the textbox when you type in J, it should generate a list of names that starts with O in alphabetical order, then next when you type in o, so that now you have Jo, it should generate a list of names instead that now starts with Jo in alphabetical order, then again when you type in h, it should generate a list of names that starts with Joh and so on.
