I need to desgin a dropdown list control which can contain N number of rows (which is normal) and M number of columns inside each row (which is not very normal)
Each column will contain a special charecter, and clicking on the charecter should add that chrecter to a textbox placed along side the dropdownlist. It can be imagined as an N * M matrix inside a dropdown list.
I want to apply custom css to my calendar control. i have applied the same at corresponding locations for e.g.

However when i render the control, my styles are not reflected.
When i check 'View Source' it applies my classes(italic) and ALSO applies in-line styles (underlined)along with it, which overwrites my styles. for e.g.
"class ="highlight" align ="center"
style ="color:White;background-color:Silver;width:14%".
how to remove those in-line styles (by using which properties) from the html by settings properties of calendar control.
I have tried few, but that did not work.

View 4 RepliesI got one web page which is developed by using Asp.net. and in that page I have got one tab control which developed by using Ajax control toolkit (tab container). In that tab container i have got three tab pannels. In the first tab pannel have got two drop down list boxes and one image control box. wat I was trying to do is that by using calendar extender control in ajax control toolkit i was trying to display a day in the first drop down list box and month and year in second drop down list box. when user click on image control during run time a small calender will pops up and then user will select the propective date according to there choice and when they have finish selecting the date from the calender a day will display on first drop down list box and month and year will display on second drop down list box.
I was keep trying to do that but i was failed. then i took one test box from the toolbox and i was got success in displaying the user selected date in the text box by using ajax calender extender. How to display that date instead of one textbox into two separate drop down list boxes from which a user can select manual date from drop down list as well and from the calendar as well also when the page loads, the two drop down list boxes must show current date ( by default)

I'm trying to setup a page that will utilize a dropdown list control inside of a grid view control using VS 2005 2.0 version. Everything that I can find online seems to only show the use of the dropdown list control using a data grid. I don't want to use a data grid because it doesn't have the functionality/ power as the grid view control. how I can incorporate a dropdown list control with the grid view control? The dropdown list control which comes with vs2008 can only select a value from it.
Does anyone can tell me where can get a dropdown list control into which user can select or input value?

May be this question sounds silly, but I want to add an event for the Dropdownlist web control (using VB.Net) to implement Click event. I have a Dropdownlist control with some items. As soon as user selected an item, it should display some records based on the selection. Currently I am having a Submit button and user has to hit on that button to see the records. I want to remove the Submit button and wants to see the records as soon as the user choose the item in the dropdownlist
Dropdownlist is coming with default event "SelectedIndexChanged" and it is not helping me to achive what I want

I would like to enable certain fields e.g. txtBoxDateDeceased, and attach a RequiredFieldValidator for the textbox field.
I have a formview in which I have a dropdown list that displays a list of owners. In case the list does not have the correct owner for the user I have added functionality for them to add a new owner to the database table that populates the list. I did this by including a textbox and an Insert button in a panel. When the user clicks the new owner insert button I would like to re-databind the dropdown list so that they will see the owner they added and be able to select it.
When I add ddl_owners.databind to my button click code it gives me an error. "Databinding methods such as Eval(), XPath(), and Bind() can only be used in the context of a databound control."
I don't want to re-databind the entire formview because then it deletes all the information on the form that the user has already keyed in.
I have a drop down list embedded in a menu panel in my master page. This ddl fetches it's list items from my SQL Server. They are:
1. Select a type --appended during page load
2. Green type -- fetched from SQL server via a datasource
3. Red type -- fetched from SQL server via a datasource
4. User Manual -- appended during page load
For the sake of simplicity my website has 4 pages. When the 'Select a type' list item is selected - the user should be taken to a general 'Introduction' page. When the 'Green type' - the user should be taken to a 'Green' page - and etc.
I'm trying to create a custom control that has a dropdown list and a required field validator in it.I've got as a far as being able to set the error message if the control fails to validate, but I can't actually get it to validate, not can I figure out how to call a .Validate method server side. This is driving me nuts!
To create my control, I followed the article here I ran the text box example through, and I can get that to validate without any problems, so I then went through and created a new set of class files relating to a drop down list.Anyone got any thoughts, or hints as to what might be wrong, or where I should start looking?
I have 2 drop down lists.I have a very simple dropdown list #1 that diplays a title and holds an id value which is a GUID.I know it is getting this value and sending this value as I tested sending it to a label.I have the dropdown list #1 to autopostback to dropdown list #2 that "Is supposed to get" another title and value based on the GUID value of the first dropdown list. for some reason it wont return anything. I have done 100's of these but never based off a guid value.I assume the value needs to be converted to guid before selecting it in the second dropdown list.How can I do this? or is there something I am missing?

When AutoCompleteExtender displays the list it is getting hide by the below dropdown.
All the controls on page are dynamic.
So, i cannot hide the other dropdowns to get it work.
I have a listview control that collects address among other things. I have a dropdown list for the country that defaults to "United States". For the state/region, I have another dropdown list populated with the states, and a textbox. I want either the state drop down list or the text box to be visible and enables at a time. The default is to have the dropdown list displayed. If the user changes the country, the state dropdown list should only be displayed if the user selects "United States" again. If any other country is selected, the text box should be displayed instead

I have a databound dropdownlist and have a problem with the default value it selects.When I attempt to edit a record the dropdownlist shows the first value in the list rather than the current value. I want the dropdown list to display the current value.
I'm sure this is very simple but I'm very new to ASP.NET.
