Web Forms :: Checkbox Is Checked Even After Unchecking; Javascript + Repeater
Apr 14, 2010
I am using Repeater and i have checkbox in every row. I have to post all the rows to a DB Table.
The problem is:When i uncheck a row and then press the save button , all the rows are getting saved.
I checked with debugger that actually i see the checkboxes unchecked , but the debugger shows them checked.
Checkboxes have JAvascript onclick events associated with them.
[Code]....
My javascript function updates the labels on the page.My getvalues from repeater code is as follows. i am checking all the rows whether checked or unchecked.
[Code]....
why checkboxes are showing always true whereas they should have been false (as they are unchecked).

i have a database of values that I am rendering in a table via the repeater control. (Previously I was using a gridview but I know require a repeater) I have a checkbox being 'repeated' for each record and I can get the id of each row to do some logic, but what I cannot get is whether it is checked or not as the value is null. As the database has no null values, I can only asume it is not binding for the checkboxes as current true values do not have a check in the box. The onCheckedChanged event carries out the logic required to change whether record is disabled via the database. With a gridview
Checked='<%# Bind ("Disabled")%>' was enough
<td
class="GridCentre"[code]....
is this done with the itemdatabound event? and how is it done?

I have below code, where I have a ListView that shows following columns ID, Category name and Visibility
The problem is the visibility, which is a checkbox. When I click the Edit button the checkbox the CheckBox cell suddenly shows a string saying "true" (That is if when the checkbox was checked before entering the editing mode) and the checkbox shows up unchecked.
What I want is to remove the "True" string and instead let the checkbox be checked, (if it was checked before entering the Editing mode).
The code is as follows
[Code]....
And

I have a CheckBox on an ASP.NET Content Form like so:
<asp:CheckBox runat="server" ID="chkTest" AutoPostBack="true" OnCheckedChanged="chkTest_CheckedChanged" />
In my code behind I have the following method:
protected void chkTest_CheckedChanged(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
}
When I load the page in the browser and click the CheckBox it becomes checked, the page posts back, and I can see chkTest_CheckedChanged being called.When I then click the CheckBox again it becomes unchecked, the page posts back, however chkTest_CheckedChanged is not called.The process is repeatable, so once the CheckBox is unchecked, checking it will fire the event.I have View State disabled in the Web.Config, enabling View State causes this issue to disappear. What can I do to have reliable event firing while the View State remains disabled?Update:If I set Checked="true" on the server tag the situation becomes reversed with the event firing when un-checking the CheckBox, but not the other way around.Update 2:I've overridden OnLoadComplete in my page and from within there I can confirm that Request.Form["__EVENTTARGET"] is set correctly to the ID of my CheckBox.

I am trying to enable/disable textbox when checkbox is checked (enable) or unchecked (disable). WIth the piece of code i have nothing is happening once the checkbox is checked/unchecked.
Here is what I have:
<%@ Control Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeBehind="AssociationInfo.ascx.cs" Inherits="Administration.Modules.AssociationInfo" %>
<%@ Register Assembly="AjaxControlToolkit" Namespace="AjaxControlToolkit" TagPrefix="asp" %>
<script type="text/javascript" language="javascript">
function enableTextBox() {
window.onload = function () {
var check = document.getElementById("chkAssociation");
check.onchange = function () {
if (this.checked == true)
document.getElementById("txtAddress").disabled = false;
else
document.getElementById("txtAddress").disabled = true;
};
};
}
</script>
<div>
<h2>Association Info</h2>
<br />
<asp:CheckBox Checked="false" ID="chkAssociation" runat="server" />
<asp:TextBox ID="txtAddress" Text="Test" runat="server" />
</div>
The code is in web user control. Could that be reason why is not working correctly?

ASP.NET3.5 Webforms. Am trying to put a validator on the drop down list, only if the checkbox is checked.
This doesn't work. If I put an alert in the onclick event, it does show.
<script language="javascript" type="text/javascript">
function setVal(sender) {
var myVal = document.getElementById('<%=(DropDownList)CreateUserWizard1.CreateUserStep.ContentTemplateContainer.FindControl("ddlSupplierCouncilArea")%>');

note that the scenario is ASP.NET Webforms + Master - Content page which mess up the ids.
I have, say, three checkboxes
<asp:CheckBox ID="chkConsultantQuality" runat="server"
CssClass="company"/>
<asp:CheckBox ID="chkConsultantEnvironment" runat="server"
CssClass="company"/>
<asp:CheckBox ID="chkConsultantSafety" runat="server"
CssClass="company"/>
I would like to make a div id="CompanyPanel" on click event of each checkbox according to the following condition
visible if any of the checkboxes are checked.
hidden if all of the checkboxes are unchecked.
I am planning to use jQuery since I am selecting by class name. I could do it with jQuery.each on the class='company' by checking each for a checked flag.

I have a checkbox which in some cases may be disabled and checked using javascript, i.e:
var cbTest = document.getElementById("CheckBoxTest");
cbTest.disabled = true;
cbTest.checked = true;
However, when sending a postback, CheckBoxTest.Checked is false on the server side.
Is it possible to disable the checkbox and still have the server side recognize it as checked?

onclick="javascript:SelectAllCheckboxes(this);"
runat="server" type="checkbox" />

I have a CheckBox field inside a Formview.
<asp:FormView ID="_fvApplicant" runat="server" DefaultMode="Edit" OnItemDeleting="ApplicantItemDeleting" Width="100%" DataSourceID="_dsApplicant" ondatabound="ApplicantFormBound">
<asp:CheckBox ID="_chkSuitable" OnCheckedChanged="test" AutoPostBack="true" CausesValidation="true" runat="server" Checked='<%# Bind("Suitable") %>' /></td>
In my Code Behind in test method I am trying to set the checked to true, but in the ApplicantFormBound event when i debug it is never true...any reasons why? Basically I want to set the Validator to true when checked.
protected void test(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
CheckBox vld = (CheckBox)_fvApplicant.FindControl("_chkSuitable");
vld.Checked = true;
_fvApplicant.DataBind();
}
protected void ApplicantFormBound(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
var chk = (CheckBox)_fvApplicant.FindControl("_chkSuitable");
if (chk != null)
