Jan 26, 2011It is a dynamic menu control that supposed to be used on different sites.
However sometimes there is no "childitems" to show etc...
Usually I would use a simple repeater that creates an unordered list.... eg. <ul><li></li></ul> or something like that.
But I need more control due to some of the Items in the list needs to be checked for some values and if they have a specific value they should be a head node like:
<ul>A
<li>1</li>
<ul>B
<li>1</li>
</ul>
</ul>
What about using a literal on page? And in code-behind build a method that returns a string, something like menyString = <ul><li>something</li></ul>.
Honestly is this really a way to go when you creating a menu, I thinking of loading-time etc...??

Aug 6, 2010I built a VB.Net 3.5 web form which has the following fields; Category, Title, Keywords and Code. I would like to use it to upload common code that I have come accross for easy access to it for future projects (code re-use). It will be stored in a SQL database. My question is how do I place the code (html, css, javascript, .net,...) that I enter into the code field of my webform (asp:Textbox) in my table (nText field) so that it displays in a webpage with all the appropriate line breaks, html tags, javascript... Should I enclose it in "<pre>" tags?

Mar 14, 2011I need some high-level advice on how to deal with this issue. I want to have dynamically created buttons, each with a different CommandArgument, that call an OnCommand event when clicked. Given that these are dynamic buttons, I have to re-create them in Page_Load after the postback. However, when I re-create the buttons, the orginal command arguments are lost, and the arguments generated after the postback are only valid.As you'd expect, if I don't recreate the buttons, the event handler is never called because the buttons don't exist.My question is, how can I retrieve those original commandarguments, without the use of sessions.

I'll be showing 4 text boxes and 1 dropdown list initially with a link button ADD MORE, Then after clicking ADD MORE button i need to generate same 4 text boxes and dropdownlist exactly in the below row as in EXCEL sheet.
I'm having a SQL table with 4 textboxes and a drpdown list values as columns and i need to insert them into the database. i previously worked on the same requirement where i've collected multiple values frm a listbox control and looped all the selected items and comma seperated them and inserted them into table(here the case is different, there is only one row so it became simple and straight forward during insertion). Now i need to loop throguh all the 4 textbxes which user enters and need to insert those 4 textboxes values into DB under same columns.

The button apreas in any pages that uses the master page where the server control is used.When i click on it, the page postsback occures but the event handler for the button doesn't get fired, from what i can figure out, since the server control goes throught RenderControls each time the page is posted back, the button gets redrawn and the event handling disapears.

The event fires when the btnTransport button is clicked but it never recognises if a check box is or isn't selected and therefore never builds the mpString (line 17).
Is there a built in function/property for this or is it best to use the findcontrol method?

I was missing something! I had CommandName equal to my method name instead of OnCommand. I took out CommandName, kept the argument bit and replaced CommandName with OnCommand. Everything works now, but what would I ever need CommandName for?
