Web Forms :: Using - Calendar / Creating Links To Data Possible

Jun 28, 2010

I want to use the asp:Calendar control to link to another page that displays relative data based on which day is selected. While I know how to create a datalink for a passed date variable, is it possible to set-up the calendar so that ONLY those days that actually have data associated with the date clickable?

So basically, I want a calendar that has active links for only dates that can be pulled from a datasource. Possible?

Web Forms :: Creating A Test Server - Certain Links Getting Redirected To Live Server

Dec 10, 2010

We had a website deployed on IIS server remotely say www.liveserver.com.

We recently decided to make a copy of the website internal to the organisation so we brought a server and copied all the code from live server and configured it and say it is http//archives-testserver.com

Everything seems to work fine but while navigating and clicking on certain module links within http//archives-testserver.com......the domain name is getting rewritten to www.liveserver.com and user is made to navigate on the live site. I wonder where this
configuration is with in IIS...

I looked under properties under website identification and everything is referring it as http://arhives-testserver.com. also thr is a file called securityRedirect.inc and ifor handling errors and all the references have been changed and couldn't find anything in web.config. where else to look for probable reference to live site?

Forms Data Controls :: Gridview With Links / How To Dynamically Add Linkbutton Columns From Code Behind

Jan 26, 2010

I have been searching for some time on the net for guidance on this question. Finally thought I will ask here...

I have a gridview that needs to be generated from code behind. There is a column with a name field and the remaining columns give the different user-ids linked to that id. Like this:

-- NAME, ID1, ID2, ID3......

The Name column will be populated from a table that has the Name as well as number of ID's associated with that name. eg [Name1][3]

I need to display linkbuttons that link to user-id related documents in columns 2 to n for each name.How do I dynamically add linkbutton columns from code behind?

Web Forms :: Creating Ul From Code-behind?

Jan 26, 2011

It is a dynamic menu control that supposed to be used on different sites.

However sometimes there is no "childitems" to show etc...

Usually I would use a simple repeater that creates an unordered list.... eg. <ul><li></li></ul> or something like that.

But I need more control due to some of the Items in the list needs to be checked for some values and if they have a specific value they should be a head node like:

<ul>A
<li>1</li>
<ul>B
<li>1</li>
</ul>
</ul>

What about using a literal on page? And in code-behind build a method that returns a string, something like menyString = <ul><li>something</li></ul>.

Honestly is this really a way to go when you creating a menu, I thinking of loading-time etc...??

Web Forms :: Creating A Code Center?

Aug 6, 2010

I built a VB.Net 3.5 web form which has the following fields; Category, Title, Keywords and Code. I would like to use it to upload common code that I have come accross for easy access to it for future projects (code re-use). It will be stored in a SQL database. My question is how do I place the code (html, css, javascript, .net,...) that I enter into the code field of my webform (asp:Textbox) in my table (nText field) so that it displays in a webpage with all the appropriate line breaks, html tags, javascript... Should I enclose it in "<pre>" tags?

AJAX :: Postback Creating JavaScript Code?

VS 2010 / Use Generic Code For Creating TreeNodes?

Apr 22, 2012

I have this code:

Code:
Dim obj1 As New TreeNode
obj1.Value = 1
obj1.Text = "Level" & obj1.Value
Dim obj2 As New TreeNode
obj2.Value = 2
obj2.Text = "Level" & obj2.Value

[Code]...

Can I somehow create a function that creates the nodes instead of I need to make Dim ... each time? If I have 300 nodes this is not a good solution.

I have tried something like this but it doesn't work:

Code:
Function CreateObj(ByVal no As Integer, ByVal name As String, ByVal obj As TreeNode) As TreeNode
obj.Text = "Level" & no
obj.Value = no
treeview1.Nodes.Add(obj)
Return obj
End Function

Web Forms :: Can't Click On Links

Sep 11, 2010

I've created an application (created with VS 2008) to access my oracle database(10g). I have Abyss Web Server. Once I got the server setup, I tested using a simple html page and it worked. I then tried to use my application. It did not work. At first I assumed it had to do with oracle. I ruled out that assumption when I created another page with a linkbutton and a hyperlink. These show up but I can't click on them. At one if I viewed it in IE, it would just show the source code for the page; for firefox, a download dialog came up. Does this have something to do with the application or server?

Web Forms :: Links On Masterpage Don't Work?

Nov 19, 2010

I have a series of LinkButtons on my masterpage as follows:

<div id="mainNav" runat="server" class="mainnavigation">
<ul>
<li>
<asp:LinkButton ID="lnkHome"

[Code].....

I have simple click events defined for them, like this:

protected void lnkReports_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
Response.Redirect("~/Administrators/Reports.aspx");
}

On any page that uses this masterpage, whether it is in a subfolder or directly at root level with the masterpage, these links don't work in any browser I have except for IE (Firefox, Chrome, Opera, and Safari). By that, I mean:

1. When I mouse over them, the cursor doesn't change to a hand.

2. When I click, nothing happens visually.

3. When I click, nothing happens in code. i.e., I set a breakpoint on the click events for the buttons, and they don't get hit.

In IE, everything works as it should.

In addition, I have subnavigation on some of my child pages, implemented the same way, and it works for all browsers.

<div id="mainNav" runat="server">

Web Forms :: Routing Breaks Links?

Sep 16, 2010

Using: .Net 4.0/C#/VS 2010 Express/ASP.NetImplemented the Routing as described here:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc668202(VS.90).aspx.Here is my application: I have created a blog, the main page of which is called "default.aspx." Default.aspx contains a series of links to posts, each with a unique link. To get to an individual post, I utilize routing, using this URL format: tp://localhost:55074/WebSite3/2010/9/15/this-is-a-test-post~4. i parse the URL to get the year/month/date of the post, as well as the post title.This works fine.The problem occurs when I go to an individual post.All the links are broken.For example, I have a link at the top that takes you back to default.aspx (in the html, I have the link set up like this: <a href="default.aspx">Home</a>), except that now the link takes me here: http://localhost:55074/WebSite3/2010/9/15/default.aspx.Obviously, there are no 2010, 9, or 15 subdirectories, and default.aspx is in the root directory.Also, when I load an individual post, Request.Url.AbsolutePath returns this: /WebSite3/2010/9/15/this-is-a-test-post~4.
