I am creating HTML objects in my code, and giving them IDs (see below) :
[Code]....
But whenever I try to make reference to this ID in my code, it does not work. After viewing source, the ID has been changed to ctl00_ContentBody_divMTR. Why is this happening and can I prevent it?
I have an existing web application that uses EF and POCO objects. I want to improve the client experience by exposing some of my objects through WCF(JSON). I have this working fine but where I am unsure is how to handle derived objects(not sure if that is the correct term) or IEnumerable anonymous objects if you will.
Let's say I have 3 tables structured like so:
Templates
ID Template
Groups
ID Group
Instances
ID TemplateID GroupID
This is obviously a one-to-many type relationship. I have my navigation properties setup correctly and getting strongly typed object properties works great. However, how do I send serialized anonymous type object(s) over the wire. Like an object that sends all instances that are equal to groupid=1 and include the names of the template and the object.Am I missing something or do I have to create another class object for WCF that would look like this:
I guess I could alter my tables to account for this but that seems wrong too. I know that IEnumerable objects can't be serialized and I know that throw away objects are probably not the way to go either. I want to do this the right way but I am not sure how to go about it.
I am using Linq To Sql to get List of objects with data from database. To bind data with a grid view i am creating a dataset explicitly and then adding List values to that explicitly created dataset.
Now my question is whether it is a good pratice to do what i am doing (in terms of resource utilization) or is there any better way to this...
I have a form which I use to create an issue. WHen you post the form, the form elements are that of a custom DTO. The DTO is then used on my POST method to create the new entity. That all works fine.
However, I want to add the functionality to add multiple issues at the same time from the same view. In effect, the user would click something like 'Report Additional Problem', and an extra set of form fields would appear (I will like use jquery for this, which I don't have an issue with). However, even with just leaving one set of form fields, the user should still be able to create just one issue. But if I habve my post method take a list or array of my DTO, it doesn't work.
Here is the post method before editing:
[Code]....
What I want to do is for this to take an array or list of NewIssueDto. I would then loop through each one in the list and create a new issue from it.
How do you reference a LINQ object that you have created such as a list, in your HTML? I have seen examples of how to do this using MVC, but I am using Web Forms. Here is my LINQ :
[Code]....
And I want to be able to for example check if my linq returns any data and if so iterate through it using a foreach loop in my HTML. change my linq so that it returns a generic list rather than what it is doing at the moment.
have some Objects, lets say Employee and Role defined as below and I have defined relationships in my database that gives me a list of objects say employees and thanks to my framework each employee object also has a Role object linked via the RoleIDID, UserName, Password, Email, RoleIDRoleID, RoleNameSo in code I can do something like this
I know how to bind a simple objects to a dropdown list. However I am having problems binding my objects which contains sub objects to the control.i.e. with simple object i just do ddl.DataValueField = "myproperty" with my objects they contains sub objects which i want to bind. I have tried ddl.DataValueField = "sub-object.myproperty" which doesnt work.
depending on the No. of the photos the code will be duplicated in the loop
Then I will display the result of the loop in label or in a textarea to let the user copy it any where
The problem is that while compiling my code it considers the HTML code as a part of the behind file and gives errors on the single quote, the double quote and on the parentheses
I am getting a serialization error trying to use Session State Server instead of InProd. However, I can't figure out what is causing the error in session. I was given some code to add to the page to loop through the session object and figure out if each item in it is serializable. My problem is I don't know where to place the code in the ASP.NET page. In tracing through the code, the error just appears after steping through objects outside of the page and not when setting session. There must be some place that I can place the code on the page that is after all session objects are set but before the page will error. Where would that be?
I can't write in english well, but I must try to have an answer for my problem.I have a problem that I have not found a solution, regarding the integration of C # code in the HTML code .aspxI want to do a loop on the
<ajaxToolkit:TabPanel of <ajaxToolkit:TabContainer to have several tabs by a few existing data in a DB table.
Here is a moceau of my code:
[Code]....
This code gave me this error:
Message d'erreur de l'analyseur: 'TabPanel_<%= idMagasin %>' n'est pas un identificateur valide.Translation: Message parser error: 'TabPanel_ <% = idMagasin%>' is not a valid identifier.I removed idmagasin like this:
Translation: System.ArgumentException: An entry with the same key already existsThe result is that I found a great problem to insert a C # code in the HTML code .aspx unlike others languages like PHP.
It is a dynamic menu control that supposed to be used on different sites.
However sometimes there is no "childitems" to show etc...
Usually I would use a simple repeater that creates an unordered list.... eg. <ul><li></li></ul> or something like that.
But I need more control due to some of the Items in the list needs to be checked for some values and if they have a specific value they should be a head node like:
<ul>A <li>1</li> <ul>B <li>1</li> </ul> </ul>
What about using a literal on page? And in code-behind build a method that returns a string, something like menyString = <ul><li>something</li></ul>.
Honestly is this really a way to go when you creating a menu, I thinking of loading-time etc...??
I built a VB.Net 3.5 web form which has the following fields; Category, Title, Keywords and Code. I would like to use it to upload common code that I have come accross for easy access to it for future projects (code re-use). It will be stored in a SQL database. My question is how do I place the code (html, css, javascript, .net,...) that I enter into the code field of my webform (asp:Textbox) in my table (nText field) so that it displays in a webpage with all the appropriate line breaks, html tags, javascript... Should I enclose it in "<pre>" tags?
I am using gridview to bind my data since GridView could not load more than 2000 records and also it takes long time to load the data. I decided to go with XSLT transformation. Here is the problem .... I am able to transform 6290 kb of data ( into a html table formated like grid view ) with in 5 seconds but to assign that HTML table back to the innerHTML of a div tag is not responding...
What is the best method to push large amount data(HTML Code) from c# into aspx web page?
PS: I used DIV innerHtml and also Literal Control but both are very slow if the size of the table increases.
what I need to do is turn a text boxs text into a url and redirect to the new page. here is what I have so far but I can't get the double values I need to work right and it does not do a redirect but opens in new page how do i get it to redirect.
If isAdmin = True Then If bmName = "" Then bmName = "(not set)" End If lblBMName.Text = bmName + "<a onclick='javascript:window.open(""EditMetric.aspx?sid=" & myDataTable.Rows(0)(1) & +"&kpName="& myDataTable.Rows(0)(0) """", """", ""fullscreen=yes scrollbars=yes"");' & "style='text-decoration:underline;cursor:hand;+ bmname'>" Else lblBMName.Text = bmName + "<a onclick='javascript:window.open(""EditMetric.aspx?sid=" & myDataTable.Rows(0)(1) & +"&kpName="& myDataTable.Rows(0)(0) """", """", ""fullscreen=yes scrollbars=yes"");' " _ & "style='text-decoration:underline;cursor:hand;+ bmname'>" End If
I have a textbox which I need to enter html code into (like < strong> or < em> for example). The trouble is this is causing an error writing this back to the database. A potentially dangerous Request.Form value was detected from the client (tbVOther="< strong>testIs there a way around this without turning off the request validation setting?
firstly a static class only ever exists once and is not an instance. Any static members (ie static int NoOfPeople;) is stored in one place and is shared between all sessions (like the old global variables). Now static methods is where i'm not 100% sure. If I have a static method that doesn't use any other static members could this cause inconstant results, example (this is a fairly pointless method but just a quick example of the top of my head)
[Code]....
So in this example if two sessions (or threads) were to call this at the same time - would they both get back the expected results, because the method only uses private data (a, b and totalToReturn).Im sure this sounds a little simple but I will be using static methods to build user objects and various other objects that there will have to be a 100% garentee that the objects will not get mixed up between sessions and the wrong things return to the user.
