Could I have an example of reading a record from backend sql server, editing the information in a webform as needed and save it back to the same record in sql server?

I'm trying to create a list of items with a listview (ASP.NET VB) and would like to allow a user to use 1 of 2 checkboxes (or radio buttons), to allow them to mark that record as "approve" or "delete", then once they've made all of their selections, they press a button at the bottom to action each of their requests.
So they might select 10 records to delete and 5 to approve, but I want them to run all at the same time, rather than making them edit a field for them all 1 by 1.
I'm also having a bit of trouble identifying a particular record in my codebehind, is the only way to do it through listview1.items then get the index of it, and compare it to the same sql query somehow?
I have a requirement to do a flash program or something like that (not necessarily flash, it can be javascript or something in aspnet) that allow me to save audio in the client side of a web app, and save it on a file in the server side of the web app.
View 2 RepliesI have a dinamically gridview, populated according with the SQL sintaxe from the user, with a TextBox. I enable in the gridview an Edit button, and the rowEdit works well when fired. But my problem is Update button. How to save the record edited, in a dinamically gridview, when I can't programatically set the fields to be saved? Ie, I need to iterating with all fields in the gridview edited record and update. How to do this?

I am using ListView for the first time. I have a requirement that in a listview if I Edit a record and before clicking teh Edit button of tthis record if i click on the "Edit" button in other record, my first record should be saved and second record should open in Edit mode.
View 2 RepliesI am using an access database to store my data. I have Add page which inserts data in the database. Also i have created an Edit page to read and then edit the data. In both these pages I am using FCKEditor. So I can take HTML values and insert in the database for a field called Desciption. Now when I am inserting a data having a long value for theDescription field and then editing that data using the Edit page the Description field get locked and the update command doesn't work. This happens for a data having a longDescription value. I have used the datatype Memo for Description field

What I wanted to accomplish is to save both the form data and the grid data when the Save button is clicked. I tried to save form data(parent) in sqldatasource1_inserting event, does not work. I think there should be a way to do it, just do not know how.

Now i am having a method and passing 2 in a method like

User entered data at 12:27 PM but system recorded 12:27 AM.
I couldn't find why?
It is confirmed by the user that he didn't worked midnight.

I have a Model "News_Item", bound to an MSSQL table, with a couple of DateTime fields, "Creation_Date" and "Modified_Date"; whereCreation_Date and Modified_Date is set to DateTime.Now on creation, and
Modified_Date is updated to DateTime.Now each time it is edited.
I can add new News_Items to the database, via my UI, fine. When I come to edit one and submit the form, it throws a "System.Data.SqlTypes.SqlTypeException: SqlDateTime overflow. Must be between 1/1/1753 12:00:00 AM and 12/31/9999 11:59:59 PM" error. Checking the Creation_Date of the edited News_Item received by the
POST Edit action in my controller, it comes up as "01/01/0001 00:00:00".What do I need to do to retain the existing Creation_Date?my Model:

I have a one-to-one relationship on two tables with are represented by 2 classes in my EDM. I am trying to save a new record and am confused how to save to the second entity. I have tried the following.

But I get an error when I hit myObject.myOtherObject.prop1 = 3 because myOtherObject hasn't been initialized. How do I initialize an child object under myObject?
