i have doen my application as follows.. A tree view which looks like that picture Now if i select select the text file i will have a image as Now what i am getting is if i select browse i will select a file and when i click back on the tree node for example AchFile i am getting the error as Directory not found. This issue is raising if i select a text file and click back on what i said.

I have a file upload control on my page. The maximum request length set is 8 MB (maxRequestLength = 8192). I also have server validation that throws an error if the file is more than 4MB. The reason that its 8MB in the config is the leverage that's given to the user and also that the app can be tested.
If I upload a file that's 9MB, I get thrown an exception "Maximum request length exceeded.", which is fine and as expected.
But when I try to upload a file that's 1GB, it shows me a HTTP 404 - File not found. how can I get it throw me a maxRequestLength exception?

I am trying to call a simple method in my code behind using Jquery with Ajax. But I get a 404 not found exception everytime. Unfortunately this is a web forms solution. So I dont have all the perks of MVC
It does get into the javascript method and gives the alert but won't go into my c# method. My previous experience of using this Jquery method is in an MVC website. Is it compatible with webforms sites?

I'm using a HttpHandler to intercept PDF file download requests and modify the PDF file. I'm stuck on what to do if the requested file doesn't exist on the webserver. If I handle the Exception and return an empty response, it gives the user a 0 byte file to download. If I ignore the Exception, then ASP.NET catches it and the user is redirected to my unfriendly customError page.

View 17 RepliesWe have an issue with a .NET 2.0 web service application that is generating a module not found exception when we try to load on server 2008. A second server running the same 2008 version loads the service fine.As part of the investigation we have taken the default hello world .NET 2.0 web service and deployed to both servers and have exactly the same issue with it running fine on one but not the other. The issue is trying to track down the module in question. Running process explorer and dependency walker doesn't seem to give us a clue.

So I have a strange problem. I have 2 LinkButtons on a form with their OnCommand event attached. Everything works fine locally when debugging but when I publish the web site with I get the following error:
404 - File or directory not found.

I also tried the OnClick event but I get the same results.
This is being published to IIS 7.
The OnCommand is just doing a redirect. I can manually do the redirect by entering the url the same way it's passed to redirect and it works fine. I also tried putting some code in just to verify that the event really gets called on the server and it seems it doesn't. Although it does work fine locally. I also tried removing all the files from the server and doing a clean publish just to make sure I wasn't missing anything.
I have a web application and I'm using asp.net routing. When I publish it with the Only files needed to run this application selected it gives me an error when I'm loading any of the page "HTTP Error 404 - File or directory not found."
but if I choose publish All files it works fine.
Do you know how to resolve this issue?

fileupload control doesnt allow to select multiple files, then what i did , i select a file of directory and by coding i got its directory path. and showing all files of that directory in checklistbox control.So now user can select multiple files and can send selected file. I am working with AD and i have to add users to the Distribution list if they are not present in the list. Everything works fine, but sometimes i get the exception as "A device attached to the system is not functioning." at directoryentry.commitchanges() method.and sometimes it successfully adds the user to the group directly. I have a page that shows a list of the files in an upload directory. ie: My customer uploads a file through my web page and the file ends up in the proper directory. When I click on a file name, the url path is missing the directory name. It's as if my customer uploaded directly to my root. Interestingly, when I upload a file through the same web page, the path remains intact and I am able to click on the link and download the file. How can I get the proper path in my url name. Here is my code .

I am using System.directory services namespace in framework 2 to query active directory. I have used fixed user account impersonisation in the web.config file, find the code:

I have disabled anonymous access in IIS. Also i have given Read & write access to the account tang09 for the website virtual directory and Microsoft.NET folder located in windows folder. But still i get prompted for the domain username and password to access the website.
