Now i'm currently trying to code a basic website as a project and i've run into problems regarding a search video function. having searched through the forum i still could not find a solution.What i intend to do is to have a video search web service in my website, perhaps something like this:http://www.google.com/uds/solutions/...rch/index.html. however from my limited understanding the codes provided is unable to work with VS2005? Is there a basic template that i could follow and implement for a video search function for youtubes video?
I am loading documents into our Oracle database and then retrieving them for the users to view. So far PDF, DOC, XLS, CSV, etc. all perform as expected, however; DOCX, XLSX, etc. files have one annoyingly persistent issue.
When the document is downloaded by the user and they open it you get the first in a series of messages:
The file 'thefile.docx' cannot be opened because there are problems with the contents.
Details: The file is corrupt and cannot be opened.
and then:
Word found unreadable content in 'thefile.docx'. Do you want to recover the contents of this document? If you trust the source, click Yes.
After clicking yes the file opens and all of the content appears correct. Including images, formatting, tracked changeds and comments, equations, etc.
I have tried multiple methods along these lines to no avail. I simply want the files to open without the false-positive error messages.
I am using VS2010, with the website targeted at .Net Framework 2.0.
objConn = New OracleConnection(gstrConnectionString) objConn.Open()
I just recently upgraded a site from 3.5 to 4.0. After editing the web.config, creating a new app Pool in IIS, configuring the site to use 4.0 and the new app Pool, I can no longer browse to any default.aspx page without explicitly typing 'default.aspx'. This site was originally written for .NET 2.0, upgraded to 3.5, and finally updated to 4.0 a few days ago.If I try to browse to http://[mysite]/ I see the following error: Server Error in '/[mysite]' Application.The resource cannot be found. Description:TTP 404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies) could have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. Please review the following URL and make sure that it is spelled correctly.Requested URL: /Version Information: Microsoft .NET Framework Version:4.0.30319; ASP.NET Version:4.0.30319.1However if I browse to http://mysite/default.aspx, everything works fine.
If I undo all the changes made to the web.config, and revert the site back to the app Pool used for 2.0/3.5 the site loads and runs fine. Restarting IIS will solve the problem for an hour to a day, but the issue will always come back. Other sites running on our sever which were not originally made in 2.0, but 3.5, have upgraded to 4.0 without this issue.
I am new to ASP.NET development and I am running into an issue using master/content pages. I have a master file that basically defines all of the layout for my site. The only thing that the content pages are supposed to display is some very basic text/images/html, made available by one ContentPlaceHolder control in the master file.
My problem is in the display. When I view the content page, none of the layout that should be inherited from the master page is displayed -- I end up with just a 'blank' page. What seems odd, is that if I look at the Design View in VS 2005, the content page appears to show the layout that is defined in the master. Here is a sample of the source for the master and one of the content pages...
Master Page: content_pages.master <%@ Master Language="VB" CodeFile="content_pages.master.vb" Inherits="content_pages" %> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" > <head id="Head1" runat="server"> ... links to CSS & Javascript files here (removed for simpler display in this post) ... </head> <body> <form id="form1" runat="server"> <div id="content_holder"> <div id="content_background_top"></div> <div id="content_background_middle"> <div id="header"> <div id="menu">... Menu Item Code (removed for simpler display in this post) ...</div> </div> <div id="gray_fade_bar"></div> <div id="site_page_main"> <asp:ContentPlaceHolder id="PageContent" runat="server"></asp:ContentPlaceHolder> </div> <div id="footer">Footer Text Here</div> </div> <div id="content_background_bottom"></div> </div> </form> </body> </html>
