I have a textbox which is read only and there is a calender besides the textbox.When the user selects the date in the calender pop up, the text in the textbox is populated but it doesn't trigger the text change event.Can anyone tell me how to trigger an event when the text is changed on the textbox?

when im changing value in "Value 1", the summary textbox value must be changed to "N/A". check the image below
as you can see from the image, the cursor is still inside the "Value 1" textbox, im still typing the text in "Value 1" textbox, and i want "Summary" textbox text to be changed to "N/A".
if nothing is changed in "Value 1" then i dont want to change the value of "Summary" textbox.
i want the same functionality for "Value 2" textbox

I've a textbox in grid view control. When user inserts some value in textbox a confimation message should be displayed to user. eg. "Do you want to update record?". if user clicks on yes/ok then some code should be executed else if user clicks cancel/no the return to same page. I've tried using

I am facing one strange problem,I have a gridview in which the last two columns have checkboxes and on those checkboxes click event I am doing some database operations.I also have one checkbox that is outside the gridview which actually shows or hides some of the gidview columns.This was all working well but now I have shifted that grid to a user control because I have to use it in two pages.The problem now is,When the page first loads and I click the check box or any control in the page that is outside the grid then it works perfectly.But once I click any of the check box within grid view column then its behavior chages, now even if I click the checkbox that is outside the grid then also the checkbox_CheckedChanged event of the checkbox that is whithin gridview is fired.That checkbox event then behaves something like a page_load event that is called for every page load and for every event with in the page after it is called once.

I am struggling with this.I have the drop down control(dropdownlist) in one page.I am calling selectindex changed event, because i have to fill the values in another dropdown list in the page based on the selected value in the dropdownlist1.But The Event is not fired Even setting the property autopostback=true and Enable view State=true(page level and control level).Another thing is if i put one button control on this page, while clicking the button, the dropdown select index changed Event is fired.i dont know what is happening. I dont think it is any code related IssueNote : if i copy this project in another system, the Select index changed Event is fired.Problem in my systems only..

I am calculating discount at text changed event when user enters the discount%. To edit when i load the data from table using dataset i do not get the correct data as it is in the database. For ex if quantity is saved as 5000.00 in table and when i try to fetch it.. I am getting it as 500000. Instead of 5000.00. Is it because of text changed event? How do i resolve this?

View 2 RepliesI don't want to use Sessions to handle each click event inside treeview selected node changed.Secondly, if you suggest me to use treenode.SelectedValue then I would say my values are dyanmically generated.Everytime a node a clicked, the selected node value is sent in the next request xml to get response and xml schema is different for each click. How do I handle this each click event other than using session variables. I thought of using Request.Item (and integrating with URL redirect property) but I don't want to use that.

I have Gridview which allows user to edit record.I already build the event to save the new record, time and user machine information to a log database.However, this means a whole record is saved to the log... if the user just change one or two column/field out of say 20 fields, then there is a lot of waste. Also the change is not obvious.How can I log exactly which field(s) was changed in the record ?

I want to check that the UserName is unique so I place code in the TextChanged event of the TextBox control for the UserName. I have abreak point set in the event procedure and it never gets hit! I have a simple query based on the index changed event of a dropdownlist in ASP.NET. The scenario is i have a dropdown list bearing a collection of items (say ONE, TWO, THREE, FOUR, FIVE) with the default value selected as 'ONE'. Now, when the client changes the index (say the client selects 'TWO'), a confirmation box is prompted asking 'Are you sure want to change the index?' with the buttons YES & NO. Now, the problem is, if YES button is clicked then its working fine as the index is changed. But when NO button is clicked in the confirmation box, I do not want the index to be changed to 'TWO' and it should be holding the previously selected value which was 'ONE'. How can I do this? For which event should I write the code, as I cant think of writing the code for the IndexChanged event because here the index change has already occured and since there is no 'IndexChanging' event in ASP.NET, where shall i write the code

Problem: while coming to old page i have to set one radio button selected amnog two.I have acheived it through session.But the problem,is after coming back once i selected the radio button which is not selected. its not firing the selected index changed event.
How do I check if a textbox in a formview has changed when I click "Update" (in Edit mode)? TIA. I use VS2008 and Framework 3.5.
