I want to Export Sql Server file To Text File Using Asp.net
How Can I do ..
I am trying to Export data from SQL server table to a text file using OpenRowSet.
View 3 RepliesI just want a function which exports the table in the datagrid view into a text file or excel file on button click.
View 3 RepliesI have a DataTable which contains a result of a query. The data are name, address, city and province.
I need to write these data into a txt file, but I must use three columns, so the output should be like this:
Name1 Name2 Name3
Address1 Address2 Address3
City1 Provvince1 City2 Provvince2 City3 Provvince3
Name4 Name5 Name6
Address4 Address5 Address6
City4 Provvince4 City5 Provvince5 City6 Provvince6
The problem is that when I cycle through the rows of DataTable I can't format the text file as I wish.
Currently we are saving files (PDF, DOC) into the database as BLOB fields. I would like to be able to retrieve the raw text of the file to be able to manipulate it for hit-highlighting and other functions.Does anyone know of a simple way to either parse out the files and save the raw text on save, either via SQL or .net code. I have found that Adobe has a filtdump utility that will convert the PDF to text. Filtdump seems to be a command line tool, and i don't see a way to use a file stream. And what would the extractor be for Office documents and other file types?-or-Is there a way to pull out the raw text from the SQL Full text index, without using 3rd party filters?Note i am trying to build a .net & MSSql solution without having to use a third party tool such as Lucene

Use DT_TEXT or DT_NTEXT instead and convert the data from, or to, DT_IMAGE using the data conversion component. (SQL Server Import and Export Wizard) The data type is IMAGE in SQL DB. I would like to export the image and save the same in local folder. Is their any way to perform this task using SSIS flat file destination? What is the best and easiest way to do this? View 1 RepliesI have a web site that is hosted by Network Solutions. The hosting package I have includes support for ASP. I can place a simple aspx page on my web site and point to it with my browser and it appears to execute. What I'd like to do is reference a text file (for parsing) that is in the same folder as the aspx file. I have no idea what the absolute path is to the folder. How can I reference the file for reading if I don't know the absolute path?

View 2 RepliesThis is what I have right now for a file residing on the same server and it works.
Dim FILENAME as String = Server.MapPath("Output.txt")
Dim objStreamWriter as StreamWriter
objStreamWriter = File.CreateText(FILENAME)
dr = myCommand.ExecuteReader()
While dr.Read()
objStreamWriter.WriteLine("{0}|{1}|{2:yyyy-MM-dd}|{3:yyyy-MM-dd}", dr(0), dr(1), dr(2), dr(3))
End While
objStreamWriter.Close()
I was planning on FTPing the file to another server once done but is there a way to do it on a remote server? i.e create a text file on a remote server and write to it? Did not find any instances of that usage. How to use ServerXMLHTTP to replace Server.MapPath in this instance?
how to force download dialog for a text file on the server?
when i used the blow code so the dialog window was for aspx file ... (why?)
string FileBankPhysicalFolder = Server.MapPath("~/FileBanks/");
string Name = "FileBank_" + "Melli_" + Session["Co_ID"].ToString() + "_" + RadcbDateOfPardakht.SelectedValue.Replace('/',',') + ".txt";
string FileBankPath = FileBankPhysicalFolder + Name;
string Content = Header + Body;
System.IO.File.WriteAllText(FileBankPath, Content);
Response.ContentType = "text/plain";
Response.AppendHeader("Content-Disposition", "attachment;" + Name);
Response.WriteFile(FileBankPath);
Response.End();
I have written the following ocde to save the data in to textfile.
using(TextWriter tw=new StreamWriter(file))
{
string refcode = txtReftypecode.Text;
tw.Write(refcode.PadLeft(1,'0'));
string priorcode = txtPrioritycode.Text;
tw.Write(priorcode.PadLeft(2, '0'));
tw.Write(txtImmediateddest.Text.PadLeft(2,'0'));
tw.Write(txtImmediateorg.Text.PadLeft(10,'0'));
string date=txtFilecreatdate.Text.Replace("/","");
tw.Write(date.PadLeft(6,'0'));
string time1=txtFilecreattime.Text.Replace(":","");
tw.Write(time1.PadLeft(4,'0'));
tw.Write(txtFileIDmodifier.Text);
tw.Write(txtRecsize.Text.PadLeft(3,'0'));
tw.Write(txtBlockingfac.Text.PadLeft(2,'0'));
tw.Write(txtFormatcode.Text.PadLeft(1,'0'));
tw.Write(txtImmeddestname.Text.PadRight(23,' '));
tw.Write(txtImmedorgname.Text.PadRight(23,' '));
tw.Write(txtRefcode.Text.PadRight(8,' '));
tw.WriteLine();
}
