I am developing a asp database that is linked with SQL Database. When I am tryind to Find Control (GridView2) inside of another control (Panel2) that sits in Item Template for DetailsView, I got an error message:
I have gridview in my page that users can edit their data in gridview... and in this gridview I define label that I want when users click on Edit button it change label3.text:
I have a GridView with a templatefield that contains a dropdownlist. I want to insert the selectedvalue as a datetime field into a table.
This is my code:
Protected Sub GridView1_RowDataBound(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As GridViewRowEventArgs) Handles GridView1.RowDataBound If e.Row.RowType = DataControlRowType.DataRow Then Dim shippingdate As DateTime
I've been searching all day for a solution to this, but nothing has worked.
Here's my scenario: I'm binding the gridview to a datatable. One of the columns is a textbox that will accept user input.
When a "submit" button is clicked, I need to loop through all the rows, get the textbox's text, and add them all together. Simple, right?
I've tried the following (this is on the "submit" button's click event):
[Code]....
The itemtemplate looks like this:
[Code]....
The txtDays.Text property is ALWAYS empty. UNLESS I assign it a value w/in the control. But then it's ALWAYS that value. I need to get the value of what the user enters.
I have a gridview and one of the field is a templated one and I have a decimal value that I want displayed as a currency so I tried this code here but doesnt work.
I have a GridView with two templatefields, one with a DropDownList and the other with a TextBox, both loose their values once I hit the "update" button. Is it any way I can make the controls keep the values?
I have a GridView displaying names from a DB and I have added a checkbox to each row to select certain candidates (code below). This data then gets posted to another page which is where my problem is...What I'd ideally like is to have the CandID value stored against chkSelect in the form so I can then work out which candidates are selected. However, what I actually get in my form is 'gvCands$ctl159$chkSelect=on' for instance. It's not particularly easy to figure out which candidate is #159 so I'm guessing that's the wrong route to go.

I have a Gridview with some template columns. Inside one of the columns, I have a ImageButton with a serverSide OnClick handler to show or hide a panel. And all the panels by default are hidden. What happens is that when I click the imageButton the first time the panel gets displayed, but if I click the same button, on the same row again, - where the panel is now visible - the panel doesn't hide itself. Here's what happens when the imageButton is clicked:
