May 17, 2010I've been searching all day for a solution to this, but nothing has worked.
Here's my scenario: I'm binding the gridview to a datatable. One of the columns is a textbox that will accept user input.
When a "submit" button is clicked, I need to loop through all the rows, get the textbox's text, and add them all together. Simple, right?
I've tried the following (this is on the "submit" button's click event):

The txtDays.Text property is ALWAYS empty. UNLESS I assign it a value w/in the control. But then it's ALWAYS that value. I need to get the value of what the user enters.

Sep 28, 2010I have a gridview with a template field column. In the edittemplate of that column i have a textbox. In the next column of the gridview i have a button. When i click the button i need to find the value of the before mentioned textbox. I do it like this:
gridview1.selectedrow.findcontrol("textbox1"). This sometimes work just fine and without a problem but sometimes it seems it can't find that control and throws a null reference object. The error it's random like i said, sometimes just work and other just don't work...

Sep 23, 2010let me explain completly. I designed an gridview, header template i added one textbox and button if the user enter something on Txtbox and click button then based on input i show corresponding rows only, all other rowss will be hidded using Javascript like below

now im doing something on the Gridview_RowCommand event at this time the gridview got refreshed so that the hiden rows are visible, but i dont want to show the hidden(invisible) rows while rowcommand event fired.

Nov 6, 2010I have created an imageurl and label ids inside an itemtemplate which is inside a datalist but when I want to do some programming based off of those two ids, the code behind files do not recognize anything inside an item template.
Is there a way I can retrieve from an itemtemplate onto say like a string in a code behind file?
To make my explanation easier this is what I'm trying to do:
I have two div tags, one on the left and one on the right.
The div tag on the left contains a datalist of an Itemtemplate of various pictures.
When you click on one of these pictures, the same picture you clicked on will display in the right div but larger width and height.
