am just reading one row in every loop and add that row in to another table object, why is 'myTable' loosing loosing one row in each loop?

Jan 28, 2011Lets say I have a Web Application with a menu of products. When a user clicks a menu item, then create and display a dynamic set of controls in an Update Panel. I am currently doing this however the PostBack and recreation of controls is tedious and resource intensive.
Not sure about this but is it possible to build a webpage with controls on it, then display it in update panel or IFrame? Then on post back you wouldn't have to recreate everything all over again?

Jul 28, 2010So am adding fields in the code behind and now want to add required field validators. Kicker, I think comes into play becasue all this is in a master page. So even though I may set the id of the textbox to say tb4, it's no longer tb4. So when I add the required field validator and tell it the control to validate is tb4, I get the yellow screen of death telling me thtat tb4 does not exist... cause it's the long huge master page ID. What do I do?

Apr 1, 2010the problem i that I'm filling a static table with dynamic rows, cells and controls. Add control to cell, add cell to row, loop, add cell to row, loop, add cell to row, loop, add row to table, loop etc etc. After a user makes a selection, the table should clear and repopulate with new data. The thing is, when the next set of data loads it seems the first text box in the first cell retains old data... I've checked the procedure and stepped through where the box is loaded into the cell... all appears fine. 'm doing a table.rows.clear() before re-population and I'm guessing I'm not dropping the controls?

Jul 31, 2010I have generated dynamic text boxes for each table row there are 6 text boxes
1. For the first two text boxes the values given by the user should be in valid range(this range comes from the database).User is allowed to enter the value within that specified values only. How to achieve this? I have taken drop down lists but if the values in drop down increases selecting required value is tedious to the user.. (if it is having 1000 values) and while I am retrieving the values I have written query such as Null values ignored. But I am getting NULL values in the dropdown here is the code what I have written,

2. In the rows generated when user presses functional key F3 then the values of the above row(previous row) have to be copied in present row. similarly for F4 column copying. This I achieved through the Java script. But I have many forms requirement is same. where as text boxes id differ. how can I generalize the One function to work for all forms. I wrote as like this.

Mar 22, 2010I have one web control in a page.
Lets say i have a web control that has one <asp:textbox id="action" text="getArticle"> and one <asp:button ...>
If i press the button, a postback will occur but will not load this web control again but it is supposed to load another web control.
How can i obtain the value of the textbox. The issue is that the web control is not loaded so findControl("action") will return null.
What is the correct approach to handle this? Should i use url parameters? Is there another way.

Jun 4, 2010I am dynamically creating a table that contains a textbox in each cell. The table is put in a placeholder control. Everything displays perfectly. The problem is when I go to retrieve the values entered in the cells. I have the code to generate the table in a separate method called CreateTable(). In order for my program to find a table in the placeholder when I go to save, I have to run CreateTable() in a postback event AND in the PageLoad event. If I call CreateTable() in only one of those places and I try to save, it says the placeholder is empty and, therefore, I cannot save the textbox contents. I've tried calling CreateTable() from InitLoad but that doesn't work because it needs to reference values from three static controls: 1 dropdown, 1 listbox, and 1 calendar control, which I don't believe have had their viewstate rendered yet.
