I have a small web app that connects to a small access db so i am using my own login screen (not a login control) to connect to my database.
All I need to do is after the user clicks my login button it should navigate to the default.aspx page which is the main page of my app.

I searched all on the net & find the above soln,But its not refreshing.when i click on button1,then some Pop up appears see in Pic(with buttons Retry & Cancel). When i click on Retry again the child window loads Then again i click on button1,again popup appears & so on & on.
I want to open a new window on click of a button.
I need to pass the query string in the url so it needs to be a server side event.
How can this be done?

View 2 RepliesI have a parent window from which i open a modal dialog on button click. In WinXP with IE8 it works just fine, but in Win7 with IE8, upon opening the modal dialog it brings me to the login screen. If i enter my credentials, close the dialog and open it again, it works.
The explanation i figured out is that the session isn't transfered between parent and child. The modal is opened with javascript window.open function.
I don't want to store the credentials in a cookie and then read it in my modal because it's a security no-no. Is there an explanation why this is happening in Win7 and not in XP and is there a resolution for this issue?
if a screen with some data, called the main screen.On that screen i want to place a button, if i press the button a new window appears with another form. So no problem right now.The user change some data on the new window, and presses save.After the user presses save, the data in the database is update, but also he need to refresh the data on the main screen.
How can i do that ? so that if the user presses save, the window closes and the main screen gets updated?
I have a sidebar on a page with vertical navigation about products The navigation links are created from an xml sitemap with a repeater control using 2-level nodes with product main categories and subcategories I want to display the data so when i click on a main category the page will reload showing the underlying subcategories names and description in the main section (div) of the page, but also when i click a subcategory's name from the sidebar, i will get its products (names and description from an SqlDataSource) in the main section. (In the main section i'm probably going to use a DataList)
Can i do that ? Display different category level data depending on the link that was clicked or do i need a seperate "maincategories" page. The scenario is similar to the master-pages-and-site-navigation tutorial in the data-access tutorials but that one goes as far as presenting the main categories [URL]
From my main window I am clicking on a button to show a popup window with a gridview control in it. I want to click on a row of the gridview and pass that date back to the main browser and have the gridview load data based on that value with the sqldatasource control. Is there any way to pass a value back and make it postback?

I have 2 buttons on a page. 1 does some calculations once data is entered the other, which is at the top clears the page and opens a new one to enter an estimate number and once that is done it opens the calculation page where the 2 buttons are. What is now happening is once the user enters a percent value to do the calculation they just press enter, instead of tab, and it activates the new estimate number button instead of calcualte button. All works in the correct tab order but the default button seems to be the New Estimate button instead of the Calcualte button. any way to change that?

If I reach this last Sub, everything else beyond this works fine.
I have a modal popup and the CSS prevents anything from being entered on the main page.
However, when I hit enter while the modal popup is displayed, a button on the main page is fired.
It seems to only happen if the button on the main part of the page is pushed down out of view so it is not currently on the screen.
How can I prevent a button on the main page from firing when the user hits enter?
I have a Radiobutton that opens in a new window, not in target=self. This only occurs after I click on another button which has a target=blank. I can't seem to find a property in the Radiobutton (Ie on clientclick) that I can set the target to self on the Radiobutton that defaults the self behaviour.
