Greetings I am brand spanking new to VS Studio 2010 and relatively new to ASP.Net, so be gentle in your reply.
Question: I am trying to set-up a theme which is viewable on all sub-pages.
In previous versions of VS, I could simply add <pages theme="myTheme" /> to the web.config file. Now in VS 2010 the web.config has been "refactored" and I cannot add that code ..
can any body tell me how to apply theme in master pages and content pages
View 4 RepliesI am working on Themes. Till now I can sussessfully change the Single Page theme when my user logs in.
I Used :
Page.Theme = "RedTheme";
and redirect it.
But if i take master page then i unable to apply the selected theme to all pages. My User can able change theme now. But only for single page. How to apply for all pages?
i'm developing a site using VS2010 and with my windows vista busniness OS. i used the default VS2010 wizard for new web application to create it. included a folder in the root directory and created new aspx pages to derive from the master page in the root directory of my site. everything shows on the new pages except the jpeg image logo in the master page. But other aspx pages i created in the root directory shows every thing fine.

However, changes (i.e. new images & alt. name) that I made in the Top level master page did not apply to the second or third levels.My webpage has a correct front page but not in the sections. How can i correct this ?

View 3 Replieswell i know how to apply master pages to webforms white reside in folders. but the problem is, since the master page is linked to a css file, and so when the style (background url) is applied to html element in the page which is in the folder, it doesn't work obviously since the link starts from the folder, the page is in, and not the website root.

I am wondering if it's possible to work on Content Place Holder window without seeing master page template?
The second problem i've noticed is that when i try to add a table (1 row, 3 columns) to my content place holder and then try to adjust the width of those columns the whole layout of my page is getting messed up to the point that i have to use ctrl+x to go back to previous stage. The master page was very complicated but i finally got it to work and i don't understand why while i manipulate contentplaceholder the layout of the master page is being affected. (only when adjusting tables)I am new to Visual Studio and was wondering of any known standars in that matter.

My site structure is like that I've 4 sub folders and few pages at roots when sub folder pages are viewed in browser their css breaks some of the images doesn't work well.

In Displaying Data in a Chart tutorial there is a secion that talks about styling a chart. It mentions that there are many ways you can style a chart but then it just goes on talking about how to apply a theme. I want to style the chart myself but can't for the life of me figure out how to do so.
View 8 RepliesI have a webapp with a Masterpage and 4 or so content pages. I have created a theme folder with a style sheet. I put the <pages theme="Default" in the web.config. When I run the app all the styles in the style sheet apply and it looks great. But design view does not apply the styles from my theme. Design view does not use the web.config setting or something. How do I get design view to apply the theme styles.

If you use master pages in your website and you have pages in different sub directories then the simplest way to add JQuery references is using <script src='<%# ResolveUrl ("jq.js")%> /> in the master page header??
This means that the .js files are correctly referenced in all pages that use the master. My main problem is that intellisense only seems to work for JQuery when the JQ Script is actually referenced in the header and not by using ResolveUrl('') <script src="/scripts/jq.js" />
I dont want to have to live without intellisense, Surely there is a way to get around this. What am I doing wrong.
I have created a c# web project with Visual Studio 2010. I moved the default css file to the theme folder I had added to the project. I configured files this way: the Default.aspx is accessible by anonymous and loggedin users while all other pages are accessible by loggedin users only. I didn't use roles.
The issue is no theme is applied to the Login or Default.aspx pages if a user has not logged in.
i have a setup.aspx page where in i select the theme with buttons so if i click on a button the theme should reflect in all of my pages of project.so how can i write the code do i need to call it in each page.how can i set the initial page to do so.
View 7 RepliesI am using nifty corners to display rounded div's. I pasted this code into a normal web page and it fires correctly. But when I move the code back into a master page the script for windows load doesn't fire. The code is below. why the onload scrip isn't firing. The actual web form only declares the content place holders...no actual html.
To get nifty corners it is [URL] and scroll to download link. But this isn't necessary.
