What I'm trying to do is to pull this data from a database, through LINQ.
However, on the next code behind page, when I type merchantid2.Text it doesn't work.
How do I get the value back from the cs code behind page, if it's already been displayed on the aspx?

I have a dynamic data bound drop down list, when the user selects thier selected item I have to use the autopostback feature.
Problem is: when the page comes back it is at the top of the page not where i have the control.
I don't really need it to focus back on the dropdownlist but to scroll to it, I want to do it in the code behind.
Any "New" ways to do it, I mean new as in code from like 2010 instead of old code from the early days.
I really don't want to use Page.Register new Script...... code if I can avoid it.
What would be cool is a ScrollToControl() Function for my code behind that worked but didn't register script.
I have a cascading dropdown. After the dropdown is populated(it is in another file) i would like to return back to the original form where the control is placed. is there anyway of doing it

I am trying to see if it possible to create a back button that goes back 3 pages and refreshes that page. The make up of my page is a little complex. The Home page has a password prompt that enables a multiview to be visible with a gridview of information. The gridview has a details link that has a 2 querystrings that gets sent to the details page. The details page has the ability to be edited and updated. this is why I wanted it to go back 3 pages. The code I am using to go back is

The User Control has a textbox in it and the focus needs to be on this newly created control textbox each time. It all works almost perfectly however when there are too many controls to fit on the page, because I set the focus to the textbox the bottom of the page is set to the textbox that has focus not the very bottom of the page. I have a submit button below this which ends up below the page limit. How can I set focus to a textbox but still scroll to the every bottom of the page to show the submit button.

Also, I can't see Label1.Text displayed on the page after the ArgumentNullException occurs because the page is not re-load. If there is no exception, it's fine to not reload the page. How can I see the Label1.Text displayed?

Note that even though I am calling RAISEERROR() its not getting returned back to my code if I use this try catch. When I remove the try catch like above it returns fine. I made sure that the severity level is >= 11 so it's not ignored. At this point I'm out of ideas because everything I can find published seems to say that this should work.
FYI my C# code is pretty straight forward I don't think it has anything to do with it as I have a wide open Exception catch and it's never getting called so I'm not posting it to keep this message brief.
My querystring is a long URL to a repository node...is there a way to encrypt it such that it's not humand readable and I can just convert it back in my code behind?
