my MasterPage I have a label that reflects the name of the module that the user is currently in. I change the label text accordingly using the following ..
private void ChangePageTitle(string PageTitle)
{
Label lblPageTitle = (Label)Master.FindControl("lblPageTitle");
lblPageTitle.Text = PageTitle;
}
Instead of placing this method in the code-behind of every page, I want to put it in a single class and call it accordingly. I thought of using a static class but do not know how to reference the MasterPage.Can I use a static class? or do I place the method in the code-behind of one page and call Object.Method from the other pages?

My content page codebehind class inherits from a base class BaseForm

The problem that i am having is that I cannot access the texbox from the class BaseForm. The BaseForm code is as follows:

We have a Static class that 's called CData in our asp.net c# app.It handles all the data layer CRUD functionality on our pages.
Problem is, were are losing the intellisense reference in our pages to it.For example: we would expect to type CData.(dot) and have a list of methods and properties available to us.
Nope. Not there.
I kind of thought it was because the file was getting too long at 3000 lines of code, since some other static classes were working ok.
So then I thought that I'd try wrapping the CData Class in a namespace. That worked, but of course I had to put an include statement of the top of each page that's using CDATA, also, now some of the other developers are getting errors in there pages complaining about missing methods that are in CDATA, but their pages are not seeing.

I have a class named utility in my App_code folder that holds the logic to set a labels text.

And then in each of my pages I was trying to set it like this:

I'm getting am object reference not set to an instance of an object on the lblHeader.Text = text; line of code.

in my default.aspx page i have a dropdown List and a textbox with a submit button below that there are 2 listbox... and the dropdown list holds the names of the listbox
my logic here is to select an item from the dropdown list and put some text in the text box and submit the form which will add an item to the listbox selected.. but when i do this i get an error saying Object reference not set to an instance of an object. i tried to figure out the problem and found that when i remove the reference to the Site Master Page it works fine and when i undo and apply my reference back to the Site Master Page i get the same error.

I have a private static field in my Controller class in an MVC web application.
I have a static method in that controller that assigns some value to that static field, I want to apply lock on that static field until some other instance method in the controller uses the value stored in the static field and then releases it.
DETAILS:
I have a controller named BaseController having a static ClientId field as follows and two methods as follows:-

I am on .aspx page and i want to take the width and height of a control from a static class
where i have defined them as constans.
Is there any way to access that class directly from the aspx page?
I know that i can make a method like:
width="<%= getWidthSize() %>"
and inside the aspx.cs to define this method to take the size from that static class.
But i am asking if this could be directly managed from the web aspx page...?

I've got a master page where I've created two content place holders ('menu content place holder' and 'main body content place holder'). I've placed several controls (drop down lists and a calendar) in one of these content place holders (the 'menu content place holder'). In my content page I've set the 'menu content place holder' to 'Default to Master page content'. In my 'main body content place holder' I've included several controls (table, labels) which depend on the user selected items in the 'menu content place holder'.
After including a reference in all the necessary places- like this:
DropDownList ddlList1 = Master.FindControl("ddlList1")
as
DropDownList;
I still get the following exception (this exception occurs in my content page):

I'm trying to write a way of setting the css class on the body tag in a master page from the content form page through a page directive variable. Everything seems like it should work here, however when I use my BodyCssClass variable, the page content isn't generated, just the master page content. Also, if instead of using the page directive variable, I just put <% BodyCssClass = "mybodyclass"; %> in default.aspx, that works.

I have two labels( actually more) on the master page which is accessed by the pages which use the master page template.

How do you reference an asp.net control on your page inside a function or a class.

I have a question about C Sharp ASP.NET:Is there a difference (in code speed, resources) between:public static variable declared in public static class MyGlobals in a 'Code File' template;and the variable declared in a normal 'Class File' template;I use this variable in 2 different Class Files and also in _Default Page codebehind cs file.In fact in my case I need about 20 global variables of type List<string>.

I have a base class called BasePage, and a master page called SiteMaster. All my content pages inherit BasePage using BasePage instead of System.Web.UI.Page. Now, I need to access some functions in BasePage from my master page SiteMaster, let's say, the function is called "DisplayClientName()". How can I do it? I have a 2D array of doubles in my Default class on my Default.aspx.cs page, like so:

By the time the page loads, I have populated this array from a database. Now, I want to reference this array in another file (Diff.aspx.cs) to avoid visiting the database again. Also, the data is used in a read-only fashion.
