Web Forms :: How To Use A RangeValidator Control Which Will Validate Password Field
Apr 6, 2010
I want to use a RangeValidator Control which will validate my Password field where i want to check that if user enters less than 6 characters passwrod then it will prompt an error .
I want to give minimum & maximun password size ie minimum 6 characters. It could be alphanumeric & combination of special characters.
Maximum size should be 15 characterss.Same any combination o Alpha numeric or special charactors.
I have done it through Custom Validator .But how can i do this with Range Validator control.
I was using RangeValidator to validate user input on client side for double values. One of my user said that when he enters 5E-10, my range validator does not understand that number as a valid double.
Is there a way to assign a value to the password field in the CreateUserWizard Control programmatically when the page loads. I would like to assign this value using a random password function that returns the password string without converting it an editable template.
I have a form that is used to add and edit data. Based on a dropdown selection, the form is either prepopulated or left blank so you can add new data.
I have a password field that is set to TextMode="Password" and works fine when adding new data, it displays ***** as you type..
Now if you select from the dropdown and there is already a record on file, it populates the form to allow you to edit the information.. Now i DONT want to display the password in plain text, but i want to populate the field so if they make any changes all field data is kept and table is updated with all of it.
I already debugged the page and my variable is being set with the password, but the textbox doesnt even show the ***** for the password value.
I have a text box, a range validator, and a button. The validator is hooked up and prevents the button from doing a post back if the text is out of the range, however I'd also like to enable and disable the button. Is this possible to do within client-side code?
I'm using RegularExpressionValidator controls to impose password rules when creating new passwords. I want to avoid repeatitons such as 'aaaa' or sequences such as '12345' in the password.
How do I write the validationexpression to a RegularExpressionValidator to impose this rule? I do not want to do thing using C#, just with a regular expression that could be put within the validator control like below:
I want to validate the price field using RegularExpressionValidatorThis is the code I used. It worked except that when I modified the other fields, it gived me the message "Enter the dollar amount" at the price field. ( I don't want to touch the price field. I only want to modify the other fields )
I have a text field set up to accept a date: [Code]....
how to get the validator to make sure that the YEAR is acceptable. For instance, I can enter a year of "0000" and the validator will not catch it or display the error message. I can even enter a year of "9999" also. The only time the validator catches it is if I input something like "45/95/7589" for the date.
how to use regular expression in vbscript to validate username field. ie it should have minimum of 4 characters and at the same time it should contain minimum of 3 ALPHABETS. ie
1234 - not allowed abc1 -allowed
My code
dim regObj,retVal set regObj = new RegExp regObj.Pattern ="[A-Za-z0-9_s]{4,}" regObj.IgnoreCase = true regObj.Global=True retVal = regObj.Test(sString)
Is it possible to have "Required Field Validator" controls to validate more than one field (example I have 12 textboxes that are required. I want to try an avoid having 12 RFV controls. If a validation does get triggered, is there a way to display a customized message ("textA is empty" or "textB is empty") etc.?
i have searched this forum about this pbm. But People posted about Dynamic Image Button .. In my case, this is a static design only. I have a login page with image button as the Login button. I set Panel's Default button to that image button. onclick event Sometime fires, sometime not firing when pressing enter on the password field..If this happens once, then even if i click on the Image button also, the event is not firing.. but the form is post acking....Strange! i have removed panel's default button and wrote this line instead on page_load..
[Code]....
Still, the same pbm persists. Even i click on the imagebutton without pressing enter key also, the same pbm comes sometimes...I couldnt trace why.
i have a field DOB, i want to validate only this field when i give causes validation True for this field, What happens is it validates all the fields in the page are validate. Can we assign validation for particular fields.
I am developing a shopping cart with asp.net and sqlexpress. I am using aspnet authentication components to create a backend page. I designed the site to let in only authorized users in.
Yesterday, I forget my password to login to backend and asked system recover my password. with recover password of the asp.net I was able to receive the temp password. I took that and logged in, of course asp.net forward me to password change component which I am having problem with.
Every time I change my password , password change shows that I was successfull but after clicking on the continiue button password change component comes back. I went to properties of password change component and entered the main default page as destination but it is not helping.
I close the IE clear the cache , even restart the machine. When I login always taking me to the password change page.
