Mar 18, 2011I have the following function that works great. The screen Dims until the response is returned to the user. However, because the process could be quite long, I have been asked if I can place a progress bar in the middle of the screen whilst it's dimmed to give the user an idea of how long the process is going to take and so that they dont think the browser has hung.
Can anybody suggest a good Progress bar plug in with an idea of how to implement into my existing function. I'm using VS2010.

Feb 25, 2011I have a textbox that uses TextboxWaterMarkExtender and jquery-ui's datepicker plugin.Upon postback, my textbox is losing the value selected from jquery datepicker.Below is the sample code to see the behavior. Is there anyway I can make my textbox to retain selected value on postback?One thing to note is, if I use jquery watermark plugin, it does postback the value. But for certain reasons, I think I plan to use AjaxControlToolkit.

JQuery :: Datepicker Not Popping Up In Gridview Edit Template Textbox?
Aug 23, 2010I have a gridview that I can't for the life of me get the datepicker calender to pop up for. I've been using the datepicker for months very successfully for a variety of textboxes on the page and inside of formviews but this is the first time I've tried using with gridview. I didn't expect any issues however can't seem to find anything to work. I have searched the forums for 2 days and attempted any suggestions found within the solutions to no avail. I've tried using the CSS to link the datepicker but everything stopped working when I changed the code and my page which uses a css style already got all distorted looking.Here is my gridview (only included a part b/c it is large and am only having problem with the datepicker for the date completed text box)

Here are my scripts at the bottom of my page...the problem one is the "txtActual_date_completed". Please note that I am using 2 other datepickers on this page in fiter criteria for my gridview and they are working just fine.

Mar 30, 2011I have read a lot of post and seen some solutions to this; however, nothing seems to work for me. I have a gridview inside an update panel and when the user clicks on the edit link the row goes into edit mode. when the user clicks into the text box specified for the date nothing happens. here is what my JS looks like and the gridview row i am working with. i have tried the CSS selector and the ID selector with no luck......I also have a date picker working great on my page, but it is not inside a gridview or an update panel....

Jun 18, 2010I have a custom user control with some input fields and a submit button. I need to validate the fields using the jquery validation plugin when the submit button is clicked. (The function of the submit button is to create another custom control which displays the data entered in the above mentioned control)
Bt as far as I knw, validation plugin works only with form validation ryt? And my custom control does not contain a form tag as I am using master pages. The custom control is present in one of the content pages and the master page already contains a form tag with a runat=server attribute. And I guess one page can contain only a single form tag with runat=server attrib ryt?
So how do I get it to work?

Feb 4, 2010I am trying to use a jQuery plugin in a control. The pages that the control can be on use partial postbacks via an UpdatePanel. I include jQuery and the plugin during the control's PreRender event like this:

The customPlugin jQuery plugin sets up a new function called "executeCustomPlugin". Later in the PreRender event of the control, I use the plugin on an element on the control:

However, when it executes, I get the JavaScript error:

Is there a way to fix this problem?

Mar 24, 2010I have the need to display a date in this format: dd/mm/yyyy. This is actually being stored in an ASP.NET textbox and being used as a control parameter for a select on the GridView. When the query is run, though, the date format should change to 'd M y' (for Oracle). It is not working. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Right now I am pushing the "new" format to a invisible label and using the label as my control param:

I have a date field and I want to add the JQuery datepicker to the UI. Here is what I have done:
Added <script src="../../Scripts/jquery-1.3.2.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
to the site.master
Inside my Create.aspx (View), I have

As you can see, the above checks to see if a task has an id > 0 (we're not creating a new one) if it does, it uses the date on the task, if not it defaults to today. I would expect the datepicker UI element to show up, but instead I get:
"Microsoft JScript runtime error: Object doesn't support this property or method" on the $("#dDueDate").datepicker();
It is probably a very simple mistake, so don't over-analyze. As I said, this is the first time I've dealt with MVC or JQuery so I'm lost as to where to start.
