and also on postback my datepickers stop working. For example i have a dropdownlist that causes postback and if the user uses the drop downlist then the datepickers stop working

I have the need to display a date in this format: dd/mm/yyyy. This is actually being stored in an ASP.NET textbox and being used as a control parameter for a select on the GridView. When the query is run, though, the date format should change to 'd M y' (for Oracle). It is not working. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Right now I am pushing the "new" format to a invisible label and using the label as my control param:

I am using a CustomValidator to compare two textbox control values in the form view. These values are not required but must be compared if a valuue is entered. The same two controls are defined in both Edit Item Template and Insert Item Template. The formview default mode is Edit.
The javascipt for the custom validator works when in Edit mode. However, when the form view is Insert, the javascript throws an error of NullReferenceException. how I can adjust my code so that the client-side javascript works for both Edit and Insert mode?
The form view is in a content page. The script is in the Head content placeholder

I have a date field and I want to add the JQuery datepicker to the UI. Here is what I have done:

As you can see, the above checks to see if a task has an id > 0 (we're not creating a new one) if it does, it uses the date on the task, if not it defaults to today. I would expect the datepicker UI element to show up, but instead I get:
"Microsoft JScript runtime error: Object doesn't support this property or method" on the $("#dDueDate").datepicker();
It is probably a very simple mistake, so don't over-analyze. As I said, this is the first time I've dealt with MVC or JQuery so I'm lost as to where to start.
I have developed an application using the Master-Detail pattern described in this Matt Berseth article.The only difference between Matt's article and me is that I am using a FormView object in place of a DetailsView.Everything works fine except that the formview object, in my case it's inside a user control and I can't figure out how to use the jquery datepicker UI plugin.I have tried to put the script block for the datepicker either in the aspx page as well as inside the user control but in both cases the calendar does not come up when the related textbox get the focus
View 17 RepliesI've got a dropdownlist control that the user can select an an employee name and that should then fill in the detailsview control with specific information about that employee.
My dropdownlist control works fine and I do have AutoPostBack set to true. For some reason my detailsview doesn't work. There's no error message. The detailsview control just doesn't show up.

when i click the picture that is displayed in the detailsView ImageField, the jquery lightbox pops up, but does not show the picture. it shows a red x in the middle of the lightbox. the same thing happens with the asp:Image control shown in the code below. The picture is stored in a SQL database Image datatype. Using master pages.

I want to use a dropdownlist control as paging options (50, 100, 150, 200) for a GridView control so I can reuse the user control on other pages that uses paging.The dropdownlist control will be in the user control page and the GridView will be on the host page. How do I reference the GridView control generically from the dropdownlist in the user control to set the PageSize property of the GridView control upon selecting one of the dropdownlist options. Any advice and if there are other means to accomplish such tasks to allow reusability.

I want to show a message "Record Updated Successfully" on clicking update and the page redirects to the Page1 and refresh the page1 with the updated record.
In the code, I try to disable the control "RequiredFieldValidator" for it not to trigger when there is nothing in the "TextBox" "txtID".

I tried several ways (i.e. Find control, DetailsView.Row) but nothing seems to work.
