I have a URL that is generated in the code-behind when a submit button is clicked. After processing is completed, I would like that URL to open in a new page and then open a static page with target=_top at the same time. Is this possible? I took a few stabs at it with Javascript with no success.
View 6 RepliesI have a Master page and a user control on it.and i have a ASP Button on Usercontrol,the has to fire when ever i click on thats the default behaviour ..Now when the home page of my website loads and then i click on the button ,It works perfectly fine but when i navigate to other pages which have same master page the and then click on button the button does no trick!!

Do you know why?? before several days, it can and we have not done any amendment before.
After button clicked, it halted and show loading icon continuously. But it does not go to the code behind.

View 2 RepliesI want to retrieve a dropdown seleted value on click of a button but, on button click I am unable to retrieve the value as Page postback occurs and the dropdownlist get populated again.
I tried using the !IsPostback for the dropdown populte functionality but nothing. Even tried setting the seleted value on pageload itself before dropdown populate but again null come to the string.
I feel that because of nested master pages ( Iam using Parent.Master over Home.Master which consumes abc.aspx) I am unable to retrieve the values.
I just discover why some validation is working bad on some of my forms: the button click event is being called before page load.
What I need for good is (I consider this is a normal cycle of events):
The user press a buttonSome validation occurs at client side (js function returns true if success)Some validation occurs at server sideThe page loads again showing the results
But this is what I get (BAD):

In our web application we have multiple web pages. Contacts module is One of the widely used module. The entire module consists of 3 pages.
The First page displays the Contact details with several Server controls, the second page is contact history with all the history about the contact and 3rd page again some more details of the contact.
Is there any way when a user hits one button on any of these pages, it prints all the 3 pages. With the content for this contact. note these are not static pages. The contact details are displayed based on the data in our Oracle DB.

I create dynamic buttons from code behind.I get some id from query string,create button with that id ,dynamic add event handler to click event,and add button to placeholder.I store the list of id-s in session and in page load method recreate these buttons and add to placeholder.One of the id-s is CurrentId and it's also stored in session.Buttons click handler do something like this

In page load when I create buttons I want to set button text property different from others if id==Convert.ToInt32(Session["CurrentId"]) when list of id-s are gotten from session.But problem is that click event handler is called after page load,and when I create buttons in page load ,CurrentId in session hasn't been channged by click event handler.Can you suggest any solution to this situation?

1. I need to load a user control on link click event of a link button during postback of aspx page.
2. On button click event of a save button on that aspx page, I need to read the selected values from that user control on further postback.
If I write the loadcontrol code in link_click event, the control is not recognized at all in the button_click event. When I shift it to page_init and execute only during not postback, the user control loads with default values.
I am doing a online web application whereby user is able to enter in new template as well as search for template. The Add template is located outside the grid view and if user clicks on the button, it will load the grid view that is populated with data as there is a row of empty fields at the bottom. However when I click on the Add Template button, the grid view does not appear.

On my Search page, I have a search textbox, four drop-down lists and a "Search" button. If I use only the drop-down lists and click the "Search" button, results are immediately returned. I am trying to load two pages in two different windows (at the same time). I have three pages in my application
1) Login.aspx
2) TakeOrder.aspx
3) OrderSummary.aspx
When application is executed, user is presented with Login.aspx page. If the user is authenticated, I want TakeOrder.aspx and OrderSummary.aspx to load in two different windows.
TakeOrder.aspx is used to take orders and OrderSummary.aspx shows the summary of the orders which have been placed since morning.
I can put a button on TakeOrder.aspx to redirect to OrderSummary.aspx (but such logic is not allowed by the client).
Also when the user takes an order (I will add the order to th database), I want to refresh ( do postback) OrderSummary.aspx to show newly placed order for e.g.
OrderSummary.aspx is showing "n" orders, now the user takes an order "x", I want OrderSuammyry.aspx page to show "n+1" orders (including order "x")

I find a special circumstances as follows:
My web form contains a postback button. The button will postback and call a server-side method. The method will process something that may spend about 20 seconds. However, user may try to click the button several times within the waiting period. The sequential clicking may cause the first running method incomplete and stop, since the second click postback will dominate the method and start again. How can I solve it?
PS: It can not use client side script to disable the button, because it requires to use some server-side validation within the method.
Is it possible to do RewritePath in the pages load-event? I call the method, but nothing happens.. The original path is served.. The method fires, coz when I rewrite the path to something that gives an error, the error is fired
