Forms Data Controls :: MaintainScrollPositionOnPostback Not Working For All Pages?

Nov 30, 2010

I set the MaintainScrollPositionOnPostback="true" control in the .aspx page code and for one of the pages, it works great. But in the second page, it doesn't work at all. The two pages are nearly identical in code, with just the addition of some more textboxes on the second page, at the bottom of the page. Both pages have virtually identical code above the <html> tag, with the exception of the values assigned to the "CodeFile" and "Inherits" controls in the <Page> tag, to correspond with each page's VB codebehind.

Both pages have two buttons at the bottom. The first page has a button for submitting a new record and a second button for clearing the fields. The second page has a button for updating an existing record and a second button for inserting a new record (for revision control). Both pages submit data to Oracle database tables. I've been trying to figure this out for the last several hours, searching this forum and Google, but so far I've come up with nothing. I can't figure out why the MaintainScrollPositionOnPostback won't work on the second page, but is fine on the first.

MaintainScrollPositionOnPostback Is Not Working - How To Debug

Dec 15, 2010

I inherited some web shop project (asp.net 3.5, web forms, visual studio 2008 pro). On one page I have MaintainScrollPositionOnPostback set to true. When shopping cart (user control loaded in master page) is empty, then asp.net is not generating javascript code required for scroll position. When I add some items to the cart, then everything works fine.

how to find part of the code which is responsible for this issue? I don't have an access to the 3rd party profilers.

Web Forms :: Page.MaintainScrollPositionOnPostBack Does Not Work?

Aug 20, 2010

I have a content form based on a MasterPage. Within this form I have a custom, collapsible control which inherits from HtmlContainerControl. One of the controls I use is a DropDownList which has AutoPostBack enabled.

I need to maintain the current scroll position across postbacks so I have set the MaintainScrollPostionOnPostBack property to true within the web.config file. Unfortunately, this doesn't seem to work as the position is not maintained and there is no extra javascript present in the code when I view the source.

This content form does also contain some AJAX controls for date selection (CalendarExtender).

Repeater Control And MaintainScrollPositionOnPostback

Jul 27, 2011

I have a repeater control and everything works great except. . . Every time the form does a post back, which is often, it scrolls to the top (Grrrr). Unfortunately (and apparently) MaintainScrollPositionOnPostback="true" has no affect on the repeater control. I looked on-line and as is customary in .NET there are plenty of "work-around" solutions plenty of which look promising, none of which I could get to work. The most promising solution involved an UpdatePanel and some JavaScript, but that didn't work because it required a second ScriptManager (you can only have one) and I needed the other for my date picker extension. So all I want is the page to stay where it is on callback (I just hate dealing with irate users).Here is the ASP for the repeater:

Code:
<asp:Repeater ID="Repeater1" runat="server" >
<HeaderTemplate>
<table class="formTbl" border="0" cellspacing="2px">
<colgroup>
<col width="75px" />
<col width="75px" />
<col width="50px" />

[code]...

Note: the reason CalculateFootage() is a separate function is because I also call it in the Page_On_Load

Web Forms :: SlideshowExtender - Dynamic Array Not Working?

Mar 15, 2010

I've used the AJAX Slideshow Extender to create a very bare bones slideshow on the default page of my website. I have created a page function that returns an array of AjaxControlToolkit.Slide. When I manually create the array of slides, the slideshow works. However, when I use a LINQ query to build the array, the Slideshow doesn't display slides. I don't know what could be going wrong here, as there are no errors listed by Visual Studio, and the page itself loads without any reported error. Here is my code-behind. (From Devault.aspx.vb:

Dynamic JavaScript Not Working In Update Panel?

Apr 20, 2010

I am working on an application where i have got, a content page within a Master Page. I have placed a gridview on the page. This gridview has three fields, one of them is TemplateFied, a BoundFiled and a CommandField, along with paging enabled in the gridview.

In the template field i am creating a dynamic javascript on RowDataBound.

I wanted to place this gridview in Update panel so that it doesnot re-loads when command is clicked or page is changed.

I placed a scriptmanager and an update panel, and placed the grid in it. Now my command field works only once and not more, and same is true for the javascript, it doesnt gets initilized.

C# - Dynamic Ashx Stylesheet Not Always Working On Postback?

Feb 18, 2011

I have a site when the customers can add their own style rules to their websites. The whole process works perfectly, but when they page with the dynamic stylesheet posts back, sometimes only some of the stylesheet rules load. The initial page loads all of the styles, and some postbacks it loads fine as well, but on some of the postbacks (about 60%) certain styles randomly get dropped. Is it a lifecycle issue? Its so random, I have nothing to trace. Is there a way to load the dynamically generated stylesheet and persist it throughout the session, then dismiss it?

Forms Data Controls :: Dynamic Gridview Inside A Dynamic Gridview?

Oct 9, 2010

If there's a better way to accomplish what I'm attempting I haven't found it yet. That being said, I have create a gridview like the one here,[URL]And with some minor tweaking it working great for all my fields, checkboxes, etc. The issue is my last column is another gridview, and I'd like it to function the same. that is, a dynamic gridview inside of a dynamic gridview. I get that I have to create it initially with null values or it won't show up. I guess what I'm having trouble figuring out is instead of go will null data in the parent gridviews column, do I place my blank child gridview. Do I create and bind the child gridview first, or second. Generally just not sure. Also, as far as storing the data from the child gridview goes, will each one need it's own datatable?

Visual Studio :: Dynamic Compilation Of Aspx - Files Stopped Working

Sep 29, 2010

I recently ran into some strange problems. Changes to files that are not code-behind (and not gets compiled to a DLL) should not require you to recompile the whole website, and this has never been I problem for me. These should actually get compiled dynamically when you first access the resource, e.g. the first time when browsing an updated aspx-page in the browser.

But yesterday, during development of a website, I noticed that even the smallest changes in html, javascript or anything in the .aspx-files doesn't get reflected when I save and reload the page in my browser. Rebuilding doesn't help either, actually I'll have to do a "Rebuild All" (in Visual Studio 2008) in order to see the changes. This applies to all aspx-files in my project.

I tried with minor changes on files in another web application project on the same server, and there it works as it should. Something must has happened to this particular application, but I cannot figure out what. Do you have any ideas on how to solve this?
