Web Forms :: Menu - Can't Change The Item Spacing Property
Sep 3, 2010
I'm trying to use the menu control for the first time in ASP.NET and everything is fine except for the fact that I can't seem to change the item spacing property. My menu is a horizontal menu where the menu items have come from a sitemap file. I've tried changing the menu item spacing in both the dynamic and state menu item properties but nothing seems to change it. I've also tried changing the item spacing via css but that doesn't work either.
I'm using the AJAX ModalPopupExtender control in order to popup a "Login" panel. My problem is that the TargetControlID property happens to be an ASP.Net Menu Control Item. How do I reference that menu item where it's becomes a valid value for the TargetControlID property?
how to change the background color of a selected menu item? The background color changes on the word of the dropdown menu but not the entire row section of the menu item. Each menu item has a different word length but I want the background color length to be consistent throughout the dropdown dynamic menu. I also what to change the background parent when a menu item is selected.
I have trying to create spacing between items in my menu control and I have been totally unable to create any item spacing. I have tried every property with the word spacing and still I am unable to space my menu items.
I am experiencing a weird issue with my menu control on a website I just launched. Basically it seems like the top and bottom padding for the control is like 400 pixels on certain pages. This does not happen on IE6, IE8, Firefox 3.6, or chrome. Only IE7 (also IE8 compatibility mode). The other weird thing is that it happens 90% of the time and not 100%, so I can't get full consistency. Here is an image of what it should look like versus what the issue is. I added a menu control to my page that is displayed vertically. I couldn't find a way to add spaces (I'd like about 5px.) between the menu items, so I just did something similar to this:
I just created multiple menu controls with a single menu item control in them, and placed a break between the menu controls. This seems very wrong to me, but I could not figure out another way. Also, this is a bit off subject, but is it okay to use empty paragraph tags as line breaks?
i have a menu which is collapses as a default. This is done by following query.
[Code]....
Now, the problem is, whenever i click on any menu item by expanding the menu, the item page opens but the menu collapses again. I want to let the menu remain as expanded although a menu item is clicked. i.e. menu shouldn't refresh when a menu item is clicked.
I am using frames in my webpage.in one of the frames i have a menu control whose items are database driven.when click on the menu item, i want another page to be displayed in other frame.
now i want to pass the the selected menu item text to the other page using session variable which is in the menu item click event method.but the thing is when i click on the menu item, the click event is not firing.
is there any better way to pass the selected menu item text to the other page?

how to set the navigateurl for menu item in code behind .

Lets say i got "View inbox", "View My Product", "My Profile" on top as the main menu in the admin control panel page
I want to do like this,
when user click on View inbox, the center of the content is to show a view message page, and on the left hand side theres a column showing the related function of View inbox, like "View mesage", "Write new message", "Send message" and etc.
Then when admin click on View My Product, the panel will change to a list of function of "All my products", "Add new products", and so on...
Is there any way i can do like this where each diff menu item change the panel according to the related menu?
Or must i duplicate the panels to each of the page that i need to use?
