Web Forms :: News Ticker - Data Disappears When Timer Ticks?

I looked for examples for a news ticker and modified one I found to fit my needs. I created a web user control and everything works fine, even with a timer that ticks and refreshes the whole page, but not when I wrap just the user control in an update panel that is controlled by the timer. It works on page load, but then the data disappears on a timer tick. The code behind seems to be running fine and the variables have data etc., so I think it's the javascript, but I'm not sure where to go from here. C# code behind

when i use the query (SELECT KNo, companyto FROM (InOut) where PosnASOn >= now()-2)
in query analyser it works fine and the data is displayed but when i use the complete code .vb is not dispying data in to label.

I have a Visual Studio 2008 solution that when I build, returns the following error:
Ticks must be between DateTime.MinValue.Ticks and DateTime.MaxValue.Ticks. Parameter name: ticks
There is no reference file/line/column in the error. Becoming quite frustrating as the solution builds in the end, however I cannot debug.In the solution, there is no reference/using to DateTime.MinValue.Ticks at all...
EDIT:
There are only 2 references to ticks in my solution, and neither of those are causing the issue.There are no constructor issues with DateTime either. I do not believe it is related to DateTime or ticks at all.I have found a similar reference where it turned out to be a corrupt image file in the solution, where it did not have a date-modified value. This is not affecting mine though.

and the ticker data should be move right to left or from left to right into a textbox or in any other control that is more suitable for this work.i have the little idea about this that this will be imlimented with the help of ajax or java script.but the whole process is not so clear so that i start my work.

VS2010 ( Vb.net ).I have a masterpage that contains a gridview, giving stats and information on client files sent to us. This gridview is updated by means of a timer control every 10 seconds. In my grid I have an image field, to display either a tick .. if everything is ok or a cross for any problems.When the timer control timer event forces a gridview databind every 10 seconds.When the page first loads, i get the default red Cross in the gridview imagefield, however when the timer loops forces a 'databind' I lose the redCross and it is replaced with the default image control ( as if no url is set ) . Then I get a server 404 error.I am using the OnDataBound event to fire my vb sub. I have commented out evertything just to get a solid starting point but im still getting errors.

I have a website where people can send an email to a group of people and then choose to have that letter posted on our website.
The problem has now become that I get so many of them, I can't keep up with doing it manually. What I'd like to do is have it go to a database and then have it automatically update the site. So, one page will have "teasers" with the Author's name, etc and a few lines of the letter and then it links to another page that has the entire letter.
Can anyone tell me if:
a) that's possible
b) how to implement it
Doing it manually has gotten out of control!

I have developed a news blog in asp.net 4. When I display news using literal control, the news displays without paragraph. However when i use textbox in administrative site to input the news into db--The Textbox takes the paragraph style and displays it. However i don;t want to use Textbox to display my news. Is there any solution to display the news with the paragraph style and so on? The containing component is Datalist and this is my below code.

I have developed a news blog . I would like to add a Comment section with spam prevention capabilities into my news.My Comment table is as followsComment - CommentID,Name,DateStamp,Comments and NewsItemID as a foreign keyI'm having problem in identifying a logic . I have a feedback form in my website. After submitting the feedback (using Submit button), form's Reference number should generate and showed to the user (with successful message) in a "Pop up" as below:
i.e, your feedback is submitted successfully. Your refrence number is 'xyz10'

I'm searching for an example with an client timer that ticks synchronous with an server timer. Also there must be a button on the client side which can reset the server timer to an default value, and with this it also resets the client timer ofcourse. I tried it myself but it seems that there is some postback delay which makes it impossible for me to make it atleast look like it goes synchronous.
I hope somebody got an example for me, the button part is really important because by pressing that button the delay comes.

I am running Visual Studio 2008 Version 9.0.30720.1. I created a Web App with a FromView and in IE7 it works great. My company pushed an upgrade to IE8 and all of a sudden when I run my Web App to test it, the formview completely dissapears. I tried running IE8 in Compalability View but it still does not work.

I have a gridview with daatsource from MembershipUserCollection. When my collection doesn't contain any records the gridview just disappears. I want to display the empty gridview indicating no records exist rather than the grid just become invisible.
