I have a formview with an image and a panel which is initially hidden/invisible.
I want to make panel visible on mouseover event of the image and make it invisble on mouseout.
I tried to img.Attributes.Add("onmouseover", "showPanel()") in FormView1_ItemCreated ( object sender, EventArgs e) event.
During runtime it gave an error. jscript object expected. I am not sure if it should be client java script.

I have a Panel that is hidden to start with on one of my pages. But once a user posts data to the server, I make the Panel visible to display a success message. I do this by calling Panel1.Visible = true in the function I call for the data submission. I was wondering if there was any way to only display that Panel for a couple seconds by setting a delay or something so it doesnt just stay there until the page is refreshed or they navigate away.The code is below

Listview and findcontrol ans show and hide my panel.
I would like to show a faq-area with many questions and answers. If the page was load, i will show only the questions. Now the user can click the button show, then my panel must be visible = true and the answer of the clicked question was shown.
How can I realize this?

I have a panel at the top of my page which contains some cascading dropdown lists. Once the user selects from the lists, they will click a 'Search' asp.net button and a gridview will appear below showing the search results. What I want to do is use JQuery to toggle the visibility of the search panel. I tried using the Ajax collapsiblepanelextender but ran into all kinds of problems, because there are many updatepanels and ajax extension controls on this page. It sounds so simple, just hide or show, but I can't get it to work. When I click the button, the panel hides. When I click it again, the panel does not reappear. I have also tried having 2 buttons, 'hide' and 'show', and had the same results. right now here is my code:

UPDATE : Figured it out..
The objects I was passing to the ValidatorHookupControl were'nt being set properly (were null). Now that they are, the messages are currectly dissapearing when the hooked up control looses it's focus.
I have some ClientValidation controls that have ClientSideValidation methods which work fine when validating the page..
However, how can I make it so that when a certain control that a CustomValidators clientside method kicks in and udates the validation message depending on whether the validation has passed or not. (Like the RequiredFieldValidator or RegExValidator).
My Customvalidators do not have their ControltoValidate properties set as some of them depend on multiple controls.
I don't want any postbacks (full or partial).
I have tried..
1) Adding an onchange attribute on dropdowns, radioboxes and checkboxes that call a helper clientside method which calls Page_ClientValidate('GroupName'), then setting window.location back to the control in question (as it went back to top of screen).
Using this method the args.IsValid is still being set by the ClientSideValidation method.
2) And I have tried ValidatorHookupControl (control, validator) but that doesn't seem to work either.
I am perform some action in update panel and there is a button to perform that action after perform that action, I want to show a button which is out side of update panel.

View 1 RepliesI have set up an asp repeater to go through and display a list of people based on input parameters. Within that repeater I have a repeater that displays specific details about each person. No problem so far.
However, my requirement is that I only display the names, with a plus/minus sign to the left of the name. Clicking on the plus sign will expand that person's information to show the details. Clicking the minus sign will collapse the detail info.
I have a panel set up within my primary repeater that encompasses the secondary repeater.

My Exact need is ,
1.I will download a excel from my webpage ,there it s giving option to Open,Save,Cancel.
2.But i dont want to give option to open excel with out saving .Because if they give i am getting version compatibilty errors.Those are unsolved over a month,so ve decided to hide the open button.
Is there any way to do that so in asp.net c#?

I have a page with many show/hide depending on the control value.
eg. radio button list rbl (dynamically generated from the database values)
based on the radio button list value,will need to show/hide the other controls.
if the value is 1, will need to show or hide dropdownlist1.
if the value is 2, will need to show or hide dropdownlist2.
I tried using the javascript with rbl.Attributes.Add("onChange","return toggleDropdown();")
then in my javascript function i will show/hide the control.
However when I toggle the dropdown for the second time, it became very slow. The first time is okay.
I have also tried using ScriptManager and UpdatePanel (putting the controls inside the UpdatePanel), but it is also very slow when toggling dropdown for the second time onwards, causing the page to hang.
