I created a website, i create a Login panel in "Homepage(default.aspx)" using CSS & Serverside control(ASP.NET, C#), my question is when user login into my website, the default.aspx(homepage) login will be disable or hide. is there any way to do this? i used DIV tags to make a panel. do i use PANEL control to group the login panel?

I have a web app with loads of pages and most of them require some session variables in order to function.i want to put some defensive code in my master page's page_load or init events to detect if the user has a session (meaning any session variable instead of a particular variable) and if not redirect them to the homepage to start all over. whats the best way to do this? should i use session_end instead?a simple solution for this would be best.EDIT:so i am guessing the master page is the place i want to add this to?

I have this .net page that is iframing a page that requires username and password. Does any one know if a way i can provide this page the username and password behind the scenes and autologin the user (from thier eyes at least)?
The calling page is a ..NET page but the page that I am iframing in is a classic ASP page.

We have a controlled list of the users (It s an Extranet solutions for our collaborators)
We need to develop some new web pages (not all) some of which require the user accessing the web page to fill out some form and sign it using his digital signature/certificate. Each customer has their own certificate which he has on his computer (either as a local desktop file or the certificate may be probably integrated into the browser certificates via browser advanced options).
In other words:
1- Allow a client visiting some of the web pages to digitally sign the form before submitting it to our web server (the signature is his specific certificate)
2- Send either the form and the certificate or the html encrypted with his certificate to the web server
3- Read and identify the certificate on the web server (C# code)
I'm calling the show method of an modalPopup extender, but just before that I hide an panel on the modalPopUp (panel) that the extender will show. Now that's theory becaus it doesn't hide that panel.

I have used membership provider to implement my system. The system administrator can list the users. What I want to do is, administrator should be able to sign-in as the selected user. I can sign out administrator by FormsAuthentication.Signout but how can I sign in as the selected user? Passwords are hashed so I can not retrieve the passwords.

I have a formview with an image and a panel which is initially hidden/invisible.
I want to make panel visible on mouseover event of the image and make it invisble on mouseout.
I tried to img.Attributes.Add("onmouseover", "showPanel()") in FormView1_ItemCreated ( object sender, EventArgs e) event.
During runtime it gave an error. jscript object expected. I am not sure if it should be client java script.

I am working on a functionality of user right, in which admin is selecting the pages and the user and save it. so whenever that user will login into the system then he will be able to see only those pages which were selected and saved for him by the admin.
now for that i have created one page for the list of pages of the application and user list and i am storing them into the database. and then to hide and show the panels i have created the BaseWebPage in my application but here i am not able to get the master page to hide the panel and show only those which are permitted. i dont have much knowledge of BaseWebPage. i am working in framework 2.0 and i have links of all pages that i have shown in a master page in a panel.
I have an aspx page with several user controls (ascx) as well as an asp:button for signing out.
The click event of the button clears the session and does a response.redirect to the login page.
However, before the click event is called, since the page posts back, all of the Page_Load events run for all of the controls.
What is the best way to have the click event code run without unnecessary reloading of all user controls?
I've created a login page but when I try to sign in with user name and password, it will not execute.I've gone over the process numerous times and have deleted the user (me) and re-created the user (me).Does anyone have any clues as to what I might be over-looking.
