I have few fields which when entered data by the user,they pass to the database and another webform called registration calls this values, there was an error in this when I looked into the registration form there was one field which was not showing up the data
then I looked into the database and found that the webform 1 is actually not passing the data of a field named "issuedate" to the database at all.

View 15 RepliesLet's say I have DropDownList ddlRooms bound to the datasource which returns list of available rooms from table tblRooms. On the other hand I have users, and their info is stored in table tblUsers. Using FormView frmUsers can be inserted, edited and updated... frmUsers is be bound to separate datasource. To each user, I would ilke to assign a room, so the value of txtUserRoom will be populated based on the selected value from ddlRooms. How can i pass the selected value of ddlRooms to txtUserRoom while keeping txtUserRoom stil bound to user datasource? Do I need two separate fileds or can i just put value of ddlRooms into datasource user?

@one, @two, @three and @four are textboxes on my ASP.NET page all of which by default have no value(therefore i assumed NULL).If i test the SQL in the VS2005 SQL Configuration (and put the values in manually) it works but the ASP page returns no results... i assume therefore the Textbox value is "" not Null.

The problem I am facing is that the content from the multiline textbox is throwing an invalid json primitive exception. Taking a look at the POST:

I have a ajax Popup extender which contains a grid and when i select a row a value should pass into the textbox in the parent page. i created every thing but the value is posted in the textbox. The Grid is loaded perfectly and the popup shows but when i click the select command field inside the grid the popup disappers but the value is not loaded in the textbox. help me am struck up with this for a very long time.

I have a page, which contains 2 textboxes. When i click on the first textbox, i have to open a child window (tool), that contains a gridview control with 2 columns (corresponding to the 2 textboxes). View 5 RepliesI have a gridview with a template field column. In the edittemplate of that column i have a textbox. In the next column of the gridview i have a button. When i click the button i need to find the value of the before mentioned textbox. I do it like this:
gridview1.selectedrow.findcontrol("textbox1"). This sometimes work just fine and without a problem but sometimes it seems it can't find that control and throws a null reference object. The error it's random like i said, sometimes just work and other just don't work...
I have been trying to achieve the following:
1-Allow the user to change the quantity in a textbox i.e // "txtQuantity"
2-capture the newly entered quantity i.e //int integerNewQuantity= int.Parse(textNewQuantity.Text);
3-update the database using the newly entered quantity i.e. //UpdateItem(data,integerNewQuantity)
Problem:1-I have not been able to capture the text i.e. the newly entered quantity i.e. the value entered in the text box "txtQuantity"
2-Hence the database is updated using the existing value and NOT the new value unless I make a constant assignment as below:

i have a page alignment issue on my page below,the application i have developed by ASP.NETthe problem is i have a text box in this text box i have set the textmode in passwordmy problem is below,

I am replacing a green screen application with a .net version. One of the things the old screen diod, which I need to replicate is, after a certain number of characters had been intered in a a field (textbox), it would automatically jump to the next field (textbox).
Is there anyway to do this in ASP.net?
Also, when pressing the tab key, is there anyway to get the curson to bypass the active links and move only to the input textboxes?
