Web Forms :: Placing Label In Panel Dynamically On Webpage?

Aug 13, 2010

What I am trying to do here is I want to add the dynamically created labels in the Panel on the Webpage and not directly on the Webpage. My panel has scroll bars and thus when I scroll horizontally or vertically only the background moves whereas the labels are static to the page. And some labels are even visible on the panel borders on scrollbars (some on the page outside the panel) which are suppose to be placed inside the Panel. So when I scroll either of the ways even the labels should move along with the background image. So how can I make these labels stick to the Panel and not the Page? How do I do it?

Forms Data Controls :: Placing Dynamically Created Label In Existing HTML Table

Dec 16, 2010

I have an html table with rows and cells. And I have dynamically created a label and would like to assign the label to one of the cells of the table. What I am doing is I have a JavaScript which executes a code behind method and it would not accept an already created asp.net label. So I have created the asp.net label programmatically but cant assign it to the table to display the text value of the label. Below is the code:

[System.Web.Services.WebMethod] public static void EndCandiateTest(){
try { totalTestMarks = ts.RetrieveResults();
grade = tsp.RawScoreAndGrade(totalTestMarks);
remarks = tsp.ScoreInterpretation(totalTestMarks);
testResults = "Raw Score: " + totalTestMarks.ToString() + "
Grade: " + grade + " Remarks: " + remarks;
ts.ShowResults(testResults);
} catch (Exception e) {
} }
protected void ShowResults (string results). I want to display this label in an already existing html table.
messageLabel.Text = results;

I have an imagebox that is on a masterpage. What I want to do is place a label on top of that imagebox. How would I make the image box stay the in the same area of the imagebox no matter what size the window is? Here is a sample of the code I am using now.

Web Forms :: Get Dynamically Growing Label Height In Pixels

Aug 5, 2010

The characters that are entered in the text box will be displayed in the label at the button click event. Label is having fixed width for ex,200px but the height is not set for the label. By changing the characters in the text box,and firing the button click event the label will get populated with the text from the text box. At that time label width will be constant but height will change dynamically according to the no of characters entered in the textbox. Here I need to get the label height in pixels on the button click event?

Web Forms :: Dynamically Add Controls To Asp:panel?

Jun 5, 2010

I currently want to add text-boxes as the user needs them by a button click, but every time the user clicks on the button (after the second click) it erases everything in the panel and then adds the text-boxes to the control.

Reason: I am connecting children to parents, but most parents have more then one child. Some have a crap load of children. So I want to add fields to my panel that they can fill.

Is there something I need to activate or am I screwed.

Web Forms :: Tab Panel Created Dynamically With Data

Mar 17, 2010

I'm writing a code for a custom webpart that will retrieve data via data reader or data set (not sure which is better). In the code I will separate data into 4 categories (always just 4). Each category of data will be displayed in a tab panel, so a total of 4 tabs in the tab container. All of this is created dynamically in the CreateChildControls() method. So far I have it working for with one tab and I don't know how to separate the data into the 4 tabs.

Here the what I've got so far (simplified for posting):

_dr = bll.drGetData(id);
Panel panel1 = new Panel();
while (_dr.Read()){
DataList dl = new DataList();

NOTE: This is where I think I need to branch off the data into the 4 categories but I'm not sure how to implement it.

dl.ItemTemplate = new MyTemplate(LIstItemType.Item);
dl.DataSource = _dr;
dl.DataBind();
panel1.Controls.Add(dl);
AjaxControlToolKit.TabPanel tp = new AjaxcontrolToolkit.TabPanel();
tp.Controls.Add(panel1);
TabContainer tc = new TabContainer();
tc.Tabs.Add(tp);
this.Controls.Add(tp);
public class MyTemplate : ITemplate{
ListItemType _itemType;
public MyTemplate(ListItemtype Type){_itemType = Type;}
pubilc void InstatiateIn(System.Web.UI.Control container){
LinkButton linkb1 = new LinkButton();
linkb.DataBinding += new EventHandler(TemplateControl_DataBinding);
container.Controls.Add(linkb); }
private void TemplateControl_DataBinding(object sender, System.EventArgs e){
LinkButton linkb = new LinkButton();
linkb = (LinkButton)sender;
DataListItem container = (DataLIstItem)linkb.NamingContainer;
if(Convert.ToInt32(DataBinder.Eval(container.DataItem, "id")) >= 1) {

NOTE: Although here is where the databinding takes place so I woud assume the categorization the data can take place here as well but I dont see how.

linkb.Text = ...
linkb.CommnadArgument = ...
etc...
}

Web Forms :: Dynamically Change Font Size In A Panel?

Nov 5, 2010

I have two panels in a formview. The first panel has a dynamically set image to be used as a stationary background and it has a fixed size. Inside of this panel, I have a second panel with its Z-index set to overlay the first panel. This second "text" panel has five labels in it. These five labels contain text of varying lengths. Some much longer than others.

How can I dynamically change the font size of the labels in the second panel (or the panel as a whole) so that the text (remember it has verying lengths) is contained within the margins of the stationary panel?

I am not certain that using panels is the right way to accomplish this, but could find no other way to do the overlay concept.

I should've mentioned - I am working in VB.
