But when I try to get table from Excel like this: "select * from [Table1]", debugger complains that database engine could not find object Table1. So how should I reference Table1 in Excel file so that the database engine could find it?

The code that I wrote works only when the application runs from my machine. When I deployed the application to the server it gave an error- 'C:PRFileIimport_File.xls' is not a valid path. Make sure that the path name is spelled correctly and that you are connected to the server on which the file resides. here is mu code -

 I am running SQL 2005 on Windows SBS 2003 server.

May 27, 2010I have created an excel sheet from datatable using function. I want to read the excel sheet programatically using the below connectionstring. This string works fine for all other excel sheets but not for the one i created using the function. I guess it is because of excel version problem.

I can't upload the file to the server due to restrictions, but I can upload it into a database field. I've seen examples on how to read cells from an uploaded excel file on the server, but how do you read cells from an excel file stored in the database? I'm using visual studio 2005 and SQL server 2008. Can this be done by reading from a stream?
