Web Forms :: Send Values To Parent Window On Gridview Click Event?

I have a form, which contains 2 textboxes. When i click on the first textbox, i have to open a child window (tool), that contains a gridview control with 2 columns (corresponding to the 2 textboxes). When the user clicks on any row in the gridview, it should send back the 2 column values back to the parent window to the corresponding 2 textboxes. how do i achieve this?
I can open the child window and get back the values using window.opener method in JS.
But can anyone help on how to bind the JS code to the onClick of every row in the gridview. How can i activate the OnClick event of every row/alternating row item of the gridview and bind the JS code and pass each column value to that JS method? The no of columns in the gridview can vary depending upon the data? So in that case, i have to have a collection to be passed to JS code that can contain n number of column values.

I'm lost. I have a sub gridview in a gridview. In subGridbiview I have a button. How do I can clicking the button and get values outside the gridview? The subgridview not present the events ...

Refresh the Parent Window. I open the child window,I want that on close button click on child window,parent window refreshes

I searched all on the net & find the above soln,But its not refreshing.when i click on button1,then some Pop up appears see in Pic(with buttons Retry & Cancel). When i click on Retry again the child window loads Then again i click on button1,again popup appears & so on & on.

I prepared an aspx file that can open a new window with (window.open) command. In the child window, some values send to parent page with (.innerHTML) command and it can close itself . However, after I set a master page to parent page , command can not send any value from new window to parent and it can not close itself.
How master page can affect my javascript commands?

as u can see from below aspx code i need values of row of the gridview
1)My gridview last column contains dropdownlist.it contains two values (qualified/disqualifed).on selecting qualified or disqaulified i need to get all the values of the row of gridview....
2)after getting all the values i need to send those values to email...the email should be send to the particular email id of email column,
For eg-if i select 1st row from gridview.and in that 1st row if i select ist dropdownlist(either qualified/disqualified).after selecting qualified/disqualified from dropdownlist i need to get all the values of the first row..and i need to send all the values of the first row of gridviews through email to the emai id of first row.....

is there a possibility to do the following:
I have a GridView which has a button in each row. On click event I want to open a new window displaying the xml data of the row.
I tried to this with the following code in the RowCommand - event:
var doc = new XmlDocument();
doc.LoadXml(content);
Response.ContentType = "text/xml";
Response.ContentEncoding = System.Text.Encoding.UTF8;
doc.Save(context.Response.Output);
This always generates a script error:
Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManagerParserErrorException: The message received from the server could not be parsed.

I have a parent window from which i open a modal dialog on button click. In WinXP with IE8 it works just fine, but in Win7 with IE8, upon opening the modal dialog it brings me to the login screen. If i enter my credentials, close the dialog and open it again, it works.
The explanation i figured out is that the session isn't transfered between parent and child. The modal is opened with javascript window.open function.
I don't want to store the credentials in a cookie and then read it in my modal because it's a security no-no. Is there an explanation why this is happening in Win7 and not in XP and is there a resolution for this issue?

I am trying to return true or false from popup window to the parent window. Actually the parent window has a button control, which on click popup another window. The popup window holds some emailing data and a button "send". This "send" button onclick send email. Now I want to return true if the email is successfully sent otherwise false, to the parent window. Depending on returning value a label present on parent window displays a text message. But I am not able to implement it. Because it might happen that the popup window is blocked by web-browsers popup blocker or popup window is accidentally closed by user. So how can I confirm to parent window whether or not the email is successfully sent?

I have a page wich opens a popup window. I want to pass some variables, like some textbox.text and 2 dataTables from parent window to the popup window. And then I'll have to return some vars from popup window to parent window. So what is the best way to do this,
1) using Sessions("")
or
2)passing the variables as parameteres:
LinkButton1.Attributes.Add("onclick", "window.open('popup.aspx?field1=" & value1 & "&field2=" & value2 & ......
I don't know if it's appropiated passing 8 or 10 variables as the option2 because the user will see a very long url with all the variables, but maybe is more efficient than using Sessions.... Anyway, could somebody clear me up?

I am using a master page in my project. I opened a popup window from content page. What I want to do is, when I close the popup window, the data in the textbox available in popup should be assigned to a text box in parent form. But I dont want to refresh the parent window when I close the popup window. Can any one tell me how can I access textbox in a parent window from a popup window without refreshing the screens.

Im having the flowwing problem i have a gridview that i want to list many records when i click on a row iwant to be able to click on a button and go to the form of this record in order to update it. All the navigation works fine.I click on the button and then using javascript i window.open the page that has the form the problem is that when the new page loads the parent page (the page that has the gridview refreshes and because there are many records it is really annoying how can i use window open to pop up a child page without having the parent window to refresh.
Because im using all this in a dotnetnuke framework i have tried enabling and disabling partial rendering to the parent page page but always refreshes when i open the child window
