Web Forms :: Simulate Submit (Post) Of Form - WebClient Class?

Dec 20, 2010

Using .Net framework 4.0I have a .net search application that reads values from regular html webforms submitted via the Post method. So the code to process these forms uses Request.form and looks like

[Code]....

I am writing a new .net application that needs to call this same search application.

Using The WebClient Class To Post Data?

Oct 5, 2010

Not sure if any of you are familiar with hMailServer, however, I am attempting to automate account creation / editing / deletion by using the WebClient class to interact with hMailServer's PHPWebAdmin.

The problem I am facing is that I can't seem to retrieve the index page (http://localhost/hmailserver/index.php) after posting the login credentials.

Here's my code so far....

[Code]....

And here's the HTML for the login form...

[Code]....

what I'm missing / potential problems? Should the 'url' be the page with the form of which I wish to post data to, or the page I want returned? I've tried setting it to "....hmailserver/index.php" or to the status page ...hmailserver/index.php?page=status" but the response returned is always the HTML of the login page.

Forms - Simulate HTTP POST Programmatically?

Feb 23, 2011

I need to simulate an HTTP POST programatically, i.e., I need to generate a Request with some POST variables and then send it to a page. To clarify, I need to simulate the behaviour of a regular POST, not do the whole thing programatically. So basically I need to fill in a Request in the same way it would be filled if a form POST was happening, and then send the browser to the page that expects the POST.

Web Forms :: IFrame Form Data Capture Upon Parent Page Form Submit Action

Jun 8, 2010

I have a web form called default.aspx which has a form with user information. In addition to this, I have an iFrame on the same page that displays a page Secondary-Form.aspx that has a few additional dynamic data fields. I need to do two things.

1. I need to pass the parent form data in real time to the iFrame page to refresh its content and modify it's fields accordingly. Example: If the user submits their Vehicle Choice as Car on parent form, the form item in iFrame will display a radio button that says Honda, and if the user submits their Vehicle Choice as MotorCycle in the parent page, the iFrame will display Harley Davidson as the radio button choice

2. The submit button is on the parent page. I want both pieces of this information (from the parent page, as well as iFrame selection) to be passed to a server side ASPX page to process this information.the default.aspx and Secondary-Form.aspx files are located on different domains.

Web Forms :: HiddenField To Post To External Website And Submit Data To Sql Database With Masterpage

May 12, 2010

I need to send some parameters to an external website using the <asp:HiddenField /> controls and also at the same time, submit data to a sql server database. The part for submitting the data to the database is working, but I need to try to get the parameters from the hiddenfields to also be passed through. I thought all I had to do is create the hidden fields and in the code behind, set the values from the textboxes that the user would fill out.

My source code is below:

[code]...

What am I missing? The hidden fields are losing their value before posting to the external website. I've looked everywhere to see why this won't work.

Forms Data Controls :: Prevent Double Post Submit Where Page Is Refreshed?

Jan 25, 2011

Some say it is not a bug it is default in asp.net. but for me it is a bug in logic. When you say refresh it should be reload the component that you are refreshing. But in asp.net i notice that they recalling all activity and viewstate like event and data that are triggered in the previous postback. My opinion it is a redo not refresh. this is only my observation on the issue dont hate me on this microsoft fan.

on aspx page:

private
static string __VIEWSTATE_FETCH;
protected void Page_Load(object sender,
EventArgs e){

Web Forms :: Using Iframe To Submit A Web Form With 4.0?

Apr 22, 2010

This post is related to the issue of using javascript with asp.net form found here:[URL]I figured out that the issue I am having is not that the javascript cannot find the control but rather that the ajax frame I am using, for some reason does not allow me to find the controls.Here is how I submit my form in VS 2008 which is working fine:

<form id="form1" runat="server" target="ajaxFrame" defaultfocus="userName">
The ajax frame below, is on the login page right before the body closing tag:
<iframe id="ajaxFrame" name="ajaxFrame" src="" style="visibility:hidden;"></iframe>

When the user clicks the login button, all the vb.net code on the code behind page is executed and some hidden fields are populated with some login/user validation data. The iframe then takes the user name and password (using jquery and some custom javascript) and automatically redirects and login the user on another website where an asp/js login page is used.For some reason, this exact setup does not work with asp.net 4.0.

Web Forms :: Button In A Form That Does Not Submit?

Aug 26, 2010

I've been trying to figure this out all afternoon but my google-fu seems to be failing me. I'm setting up a page with a fairly large form, which has one field that is going to require some kind of popup page that will allow the user to perform a lookup.

At the moment I'm only prototyping the page so I'm actually only attempting to a the button up to fire an alert when the button is clicked instead of generating a lookup screen. However it seems that no matter what I do the button causes the form to submit.

I remember one of the very first ASP .NET beginner videos I ever watched went through configuring a button to perform actions without submitting, but I can't seem to figure out which one it was.

How To Make A Checkbox Always Unchecked Even Post-submit

Dec 3, 2010

The checkbox is for acknowledgment that user agrees to the terms and conditions ... and when form submit return some errors I want to display the error message on the screen and keep the checkbox unchecked regardless it was ticked or not.

In my view I have the following:

<%: Html.CheckBoxFor(m => m.UserAgreement) %>

And I have tried both the following in my controller and none of them works:

ViewData["UserAgreement"] = false;

C# - Submit Post Request With Keys From Code Behind?

Jul 7, 2010

I am working on a page where we have a form that the user is filling some information in. When the form is submitted I want to process the information and then redirect to an external server. The catch is that I need post data to go to the external server so a redirect will not work.

Is there a way to programmatically submit a form request with post data?

For the sake of a ridiculous example let's say on http://A.com I have an asp.net page with two inputs that accept numbers and a submit button. When the button is clicked I want to send a post to http://B.com with a post data parameter "AdditionTotal" which contains the sum of the two numbers entered.
