I want some efficient way that how can i display a message to user that he is about to logout after 1 minute if user is idle and doing nothing on the page for 1 mintue.
on message if user want stay online so he must click keep me online or say logout.
public bool IsCartRecentlyUpdated { get { if (this.session["IsCartRecentlyUpdated"] != null) { return (bool)this.session["IsCartRecentlyUpdated"]; } else { this.session["IsCartRecentlyUpdated"] = false; return (bool)this.session["IsCartRecentlyUpdated"]; } } set { this.session["IsCartRecentlyUpdated"] = value; } }
Whenever a user adds a product to the cart I put this value on true:
public void AddToCart(Product product, int quantity) { IsCartRecentlyUpdated = true; //other code for updating the cart }
Adding a product to the cart does a postback so I can show a message (ëg: Product added succesfully) in Page_Load of the General Master page where the shopping cart is located, when a product has just been added to the cart:
protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { if (this.sessionsUtil.IsCartRecentlyUpdated) { this.lblCartWarning.Text = (string)GetLocalResourceObject("CartWarning"); imgCardLogos.Visible = false; } else { this.lblCartWarning.Text = String.Empty; imgCardLogos.Visible = true; } //other code //put it back to false to not show the message each time the page is loaded this.sessionsUtil.IsCartRecentlyUpdated = false; }
Well this code works great locally but on the server it does not show the message after adding the product to the cart but on the second page loading...(I guess that on the server somehow the page is loading before the session var is updated - extremely strange)
Do you know why? I do not see any problem in the code...
i am using create user wizard and capturing other information within content template when a new userregisters. I have one page which contains 3 panels and 3 buttons. Each panel connects one button. When one button clicks, the relative panel appears and other panels are divisible. For each panel, I design a textbox, a merge button and a gridview. When user input information into the textbox, the gridview shows the detail data from the database and two checkboxes. The next step, user uses checkboxes to choose two different rows of data and click the merge button. I need to show a confirmation message based on the selection user made i.e. Are you you want to merge A to B.
write the code to show the confirmation message which is works perfectly in Page_Load() method. But the problem is the page contains 3 panels. Do I need to write code for each panel to show the confirmation message and put 3 sets of the code in Page_Load?

I have 5 fields on my web form out of which 2 are hidden. i have to validate all of them so i have associated required field validator with all of them. it works fine it does not shows me the error message for the controls that are hidden at that point of time.now i added a custom validation control and when this validation fails all the error messages are shown... can some body please tell me what am i doing wrong and what is the best approach that can be followed in this case.
I have web form in c# asp.net. I have an textbox where the user can enter some part number. When he click on the search button I would like to do some validation of the search text. It is not possible to use the following charachters (- _ / . spaces). When the custom validation found one of these characters I would like to show some error message (It is not possible to use one of these special characters: -, _, /, , . and spaces.). And than I would like to remove the special characters from the search text and execute a method to search.Can I do it with a custom validation like:
<asp:textbox id="TextBox1" runat="server"></asp:textbox><asp:CustomValidator id="CustomValidator1" runat="server" OnServerValidate="TextValidate" ControlToValidate="TextBox1" ErrorMessage="It is not possible to use one of these special characters: -, _, /, , . and spaces."></asp:CustomValidator> protected void TextValidate(object source, ServerValidateEventArgs args){ args.IsValid = (args.Value.Contains(""); string newSearchValue = // remove the special characters -, _, /, , . and spaces. // Run the search method without the special character, but show a error message search(newSearchValue);}
We have option in validation summary to show errors in messagebox. But at the same time errors also showed in the page. Any way to hide this. Because of page space i think to use popup but i dont want to siplay in the summary also.
