I want the code for showing popup dialog box , to show the time remaining for session closing because of in-activity. and 2 buttons for allowing to stay or to signout.
i want all the settings that are need to achieve the functionality.
I have a popup window where i store an a arraylist in sessionvariable, when clicking on closebutton (the X in the right top corner) or the cmd input button in the form i want to remove the sessionvariable containing my arraylist. How can i do this?

I want to show a popup about browser compatibility to the users visiting my website. I have used the popup in about 5 pages and it would be annoying for the users to see the same popup for more than once when they visit my website. So I am thinking to use a session and kill it when the user closes the poup. IT should not be shown until the browser is restarted.

View 1 RepliesI have been spending a better part of a week trying to track down why I am not able to clear all session variables in a web app (vs 2010, vb.net). What I have tracked it down to is that when I remove or abandon sessions that my html pages or codebehind access, it works, but for some reason in any of my class files where I use "Public Shared strConnection as String = HttpContext.Current.Session("strConnection").ToString" to access a session variable, it finds the old one and not the current one. I have to wait for it to time out, go in again, and it will find the new one.
I do not use Linq, and there is only one place in the whole web app that I place the connection string in a variable whcih is when a person logs in. It points them to the correct database. The sqlconnection is set for all of my listviews in Page_Init to make sure that they aren't using any session variable that they create on their own. Interestingly enough that if I use debug to go in each time, exit debug, enter debug again trying to access a different database, it works correct each time. I assume that debug is correctly killing the session variable for the classes for me.
I have some code in my page load event where I just want to fire once when the user opens the Browser. The only issue is if you open a new tab with the same website the session variable does not reset. Is there a way to reset the session variable when you open a new tab or do you have to take the whole web browser down for it to clear the session variable.

I have a very interesting problem about Sessions and Master Pages. I designed a small CRM web application with master page. Users could enter their expenses with this application. I put a label on master page. If users login to this site, I changed this label text.
Label text is username. My problem is; when some users using this site at same time, usernames are conflict. For example; One client login and label which on the masterpage value is Ali. Another client login and label value is Ahmet. After that, If two clients process the same things on this site, Ahmet's label's value is changed to the value of Ali. I write it Session Id on URL. Firstly two clients take different Session ID when login to that page. When conflict occurs, two clients are the same Session Id that pages. I am using .NET Framework 3.5V. Is this ASP.NET bug ?
I'm trying to use sub-domains in my ASP.NET website but I'm coming across a few problems with the session being reset.
I've edited my hosts file to have 'localhost', 'one.localhost' and 'two.localhost'. I can go to any of these URLs and do what I need to do and login to my system. The session mode is defined as follows in the web.config:

What I'm finding is when I click something that causes a postback all the session is lost and a new session id is created, when this occurs my website is now 'localhost' rather than the logged in 'one.localhost' for example.
How to keep the session variables even after closing the browser?
Everytime I close the browser, I lose all the session variables.

i use modal popup extender to show my details in another separate window it is a panel contains some controls the problem is ::

There are two pages in my app, A and B.A is login page from which user ID was saved in a session. Once user login, B is open and user ID will display in B. When user submitted an order successfully at page B, page B will reopen but user ID was missed. How to fix it to keep session value in 20 minutes as default?
I check IIS, session time out time is 60 minutes.
When i close or exit the page, it should show the pop up message like "page closing"

View 1 RepliesI have a "Save" button in my asp.net (VB.Net 3.5) page. When clicked it saves data in the database and redirects to another page. Before it redirects, I have to show a popup messagebox informing the clients that the data has been saved. The popup box will have a "OK" button. Only when this button is clicked, the page should be redirected to another page.
If I used Page.ClientScript.RegisterStartupScript to register a javascript to show an alert message, it is never shown and page is redirected straightaway. Similar behavior happens when I tried to show a mesage box by creating it through a server control as described

as you see here when users click on IMGtaeed Button at first it show below message
"WOULD YOU LIKE TO REGISTER"
when users click on OK It insert data into database and I want after that it show message in messagebox that "You Have Registered Successfully"
so I define Session for this message but it didn't work
when I click on IMGtaee button it insert data in database but id didn't show any message in messagebox...
My prob is that when data inserted in database after that without any button click the new record show in popup box ?
