It seems liken no matter what logic I put in my code, this runs every single time, and because of this, unless I am viewing this particular content page, I get an error.

I have a label "lbl1" that I am trying to locate in a content page from the Master page. I want to do it dynamically so I am trying to pass the name of the control (which in this case is lbl1) through as a parameter. I don't get an error, it just doesn't work. If I do an alert to see what the string "temp" looks like, it is correct, but iit seems as if Javascript ignores it. I believe it has something to do with the '<%= not being interpreted correctly by the browser I'm sure it is a simple solution, but I can't figure it out!

I have a page with some datasources in it. I am doing reenginering of the page itself and would like to split some parts of the page in several user controls. In my code I have an ObjectDataSource object with the following params

I just like to know how to pass a parameter to the datasource of my dllItemCodeFooter and dllItemCodeEdit Drowndownlist which calls my getItemCodeList(decimal categoryID) method in the code behind. The value of the parameter will be seletectedValue of the first dropdownlist ddlCategoryFooter or ddlCategoryEdit).I know it could be done in code behind, but i prefer to bind my datasource in asp page. i am using the multiview control inside a page and i am trying to find a control using the javascript function document.getElementById. My Problem is that the function returns null cause it cannot find the control. When i open the code of the page from the browser the active view is not rendered so I think thats the reason why I am getting a null value from the function.
On the HTML code is rendered only the first view or the view that is activated on page load.
Is there any way to find a control inside the view using javascript? or I am doing something wrong?

I want to do something with javascript(rather than jquery) in one of content pages after ALL OF MASTER AND CONTENT ELEMENTS ARE LOADED COMPLETELY.(for example set focus on a RadComboBox Control)

2-so i used $(document).ready(function() { my codes }); instead of onload = onloadOfDocument;

I have a main master page, say MasterPageMain, and a couple of folders with couple of pages in each folder which act as a child page to that master page - MasterPageMain.
Now, I have about 10 pages in one of the folder which follows a certain pattern and they could really use a nested pages since any change on some parts needs me to change all the pages which is a pain really.
I already added a Nested master page, say NestedMasterPage - which is a child of MasterPageMain
I tried to change one of the page's <%@ Page directive to NestedMasterPage, immediately, there were a lot of errors. plus I dint know where the NestedMasterPage's children content would go.
What do I need to know in order to do this succesfully?
ps: I dint do this initially because I only had 2 pages, and I dint need this at that time, as the project grew, now i see that I should have changed it much earlier..
Before I use magic ajax, it was not a problem that if it's not ajax call, I can perform document.getElementById("button1").click();
However, in asp.net ajax extension, I can not do this and it reports a run time ajax error:

What happens is, in my code, I have a facility to check if the user change any data they just input every 5 minutes. If yes, I will do a save function without notifying the user. and all the things are done on client side. So I have to use javascript, however, I could not user button.click() on js anymore.Is there any other way to call a server side function (code behind) by javascript?

After some code change I have published my AJAXised web application to the server and the application failes to work properly - something weird is going on, as all .aspx pages are displayed as an ASPX markup text (page declaration, html controls, etc.), rather than a page is being rendered as an html. We need to have text of attachmnet inside html table of messages on web page. For the first stage we need to have at least support of doc, excel attachments (in future possibly will desire pdf). So in table we show from, subject and body as html cells of message tr. And cell for body should contain firstly rendered content of attached documents (with all images and styles), and then real message body. They don't want any links for download or something similar :(
I know only about possibility to use MS Word Save As logic (but don't have a lot of details). So in this case I should have MS word, excel installed on server. And based on type of attachment use one of the compopnents.

I'm attempting to set a class on the body tag in my asp.net site which uses a master page and content web forms. I simply want to be able to do this by adding a bodycssclass property (see below) to the content web form page directive.
It works through the solution below but when i attempt to view Default.aspx the Content1 control loses its content.
