Web Forms :: Alternative To ComponentGo's Web Scheduler?
May 11, 2010
a good alternative to ComponentGo's Web Scheduler.http://componentgo.comTelerik have a calendar control but it doesn't provide the functionality i'm looking for.The control will be used to schedule peoples work shifts for the different roles in the company, and needs to provide a day view and week view.
i want to develop a custom scheduler using asp.net C# to invoke the Task scheduler in windows. I want to create a windows form application to simulate windows scheduler. What should i know before i start this project. I have enough experience on asp.net, C# but not on the web service, scheduling side.
I have one excel file into my C drive, I wanted to read that excel file and wanted to insert those rows into sql server database. For this I want to create one scheduler.
I want to create weekly scheduler which will fetch the data from meeting table from sql server. I want allow user to give navigation of Next/Previous week. However in this scheduler only two time entry should display i.e. 9 AM and 3 PM, othere hours will not display.
Secondly underneath this scheduler there will be a text box and button, where user will enter some comments in text box and once he click on submit then update records which are displaying for selected week.
I am trying to connect to a SSRS - Reporting Services Scheduler i.e. to create a SSRS subscription from a ASP .Net web page. I need to find an API which can do this.
How to create a WSDL link. I am getting an error when i am trying with adding a service reference. I gave this format as below.
I am using ASP.NET with C# and I am new in those. I need to write code which will read a webpage every minutes. I tried to do this with timer class of c#. When I run that code just after few seconds it says server stop running. What is the best way to write such code?
I don't know if this is the correct forum for this...I'm trying to in a C# console application, send an email using System.Net.Mail. The send command executes successfully (no error thrown in the try catch) however the email does not get sent.If i execute the program directly from the console, it works fine and the email is sent. The event viewer shows no errors for security permissions or otherwise.
I have too many scheduler for project but i have problem that when some problem happen like exception then i need that start again and start for same place where they start.
I am into shared hosting and they do not allow me to use windows scheduler... So what are the ways of achieving scheduled tasks ie(timed mail) in asp.net... I just saw background process by Jeff Atwood blog... Is it relaible? Or any other ways of doing scheduled tasks...
Then i found quartz.net but i can't find a simple example that embeds quartz.net into an asp.net(without installing a Quartz.Net server as a standalone windows service)...
Working with a client and there ever changing requirements can be a big pain. I find myself in a similar situation.I have a Multi-Select ListBox with current size set to 4. The client, in UAT, while experimenting realized that he would have to scroll to find a listed entry at possition 9. He has raised a concern for having to scroll to find an entry. We have 7 such ListBoxes. We thought of the following solutions and could not implement due to:1. Expanding the SIZE - The list entries are variable and may/will increase in future.2. Searching - This will introduce additional refreshing of page and increase the complexity. Can any suggest a solution that would not include any major changes to the existing setup, maintaining the simplicity of the page?
I have an existing website using forms authentication with Sql provider. Now i am trying to integrate with another website and use their authentication mechanism. I am already able to validate a user and trying to silently login the user into my application. Here is the code for "silent" login:
[code]...
and it works with the exception that Forms Authentication overrides the HttpContext.Current.User by the time i make it "default.aspx". Is there a way to bypass forms role and membership providers?
I have a VS2008 / C# app with about 30 web pages. All of them access a central Master Page and it works well.
I now have a new page to create which will have many, many sub-pages. The hierarchy will look like this:
Master Page Web Page Sub Page 1 Sub Page 2 . . . Sub Page N
Doing a lot of reading, apparently I can turn the "Web Page" into a nested Master Page and then each Sub Page would become a Web Content Form. Just wondering, is this the ONLY approach I have available to accomplish this? Or are there other options?
I am trying to rewrite an Access Database in to a asp.net front end and i have hit an issue that i can not find a good way round.
in the access version of the software there is a screen the displays all cusotmers and invoice information about these customers, there are currently 15 columns on the screen and we currently have around 25K customers and this will only go up. This is done using a multi column listbox i need to replicate this screen in asp.net but i spent all day on this on as yet not found a good way of do this.
the user will need the ability to select multiple customers at a time and because of the amount of data a scroll bar is a must, this is why the listbox is an ideal tool, apart from the fact the standard one in asp.net does not allow multi columns. grid lines would also be useful. I have look at a few third party multi column multi column list boxes but the only one that i have found that seems to work OBOUT's takes far to long to render 25K rows.
I have user control page (.acsx file), which has following
<form action=abcd.aspx id="safsdf"> <input name="q" type="text" value="Search this site" size="13" onfocus="this.value='';"/> //this is input box <input type="submit" name="sa" value="Submit" /> //this is input button </form>
When user click on submit button, then it postback to same page. I have another page , which reference to this user control and that is why multiple <form> tag appears on one single page and it cause my webpage to layout incorrectly. I would like to remove <form> tag from my above user control and replace with some other alternative, which does postback to same page without using <form> tag on user control (I have to remove <form> tag from user control because I must keep my <form> tag on other page).
I have various ASPX input forms, using tables, with lots of 28px-wide textboxes arranged in columns. They look perfect in IE7 and IE8 but in Firefox, Google Chrome and Opera the textboxes display approximately 5 times as wide, resulting in text wrapping and generally screwing up the nice appearance of the forms. Very irritating after all the work I did to make them look professional in IE8!
Is there a way of coding the forms to stop this happening amd make them look more or less identical in all the major browsers?
I created a database with ID, Title, Content, Date, ImgLnks, Image and Imagecaption and i'm using ObjectDataSource to populate the data. The field "ImgLnks" displays a new blank window with URL. This column is entered as text, inserted into the database and displays as clickable link in the gridview. My question is, is there a way that I can put an Alternative Standard Text in this column instead of displaying the clickable link like [URL] etc.? Text like, "Visit Page".
Is that any multiview alternative? I am doing a project that have to load the data in to a content space. Right now I am using the multiview provide by asp + using ajax.net. but it seem like very heavy when I load that page. So is that have any alternative to doing this? I have a concept that like using the load php funtion calling~is that applyable in asp.net? I am new in coding~ the effect I want to do is just like the user profile page on [URL] by clicking the button list change it content without reload the whole page.
I stumbled into a problem which is that FindControl will only return a control in the ListView after the listview has been databound. Here is the code which is not working, and I'm getting the "Object reference not set to an instance of an object error" when I try to add the attribute to the control:
Did you have any issue to show background images in a gridview with IIS 7. I've exactly applied this [URL] and I've no idea why, my css works for the header but not for:
The alternative row has no background image and the pager too but it works for the header. But when I browse the website online from my laptop, without IIS it works fine. When I check web developer tools from i.e., I've the backround image written in the css so it should come up.
