Web Forms :: Any Control (textbox, Label) LogginView Template

I have a log in page implement successfully. What I am trying to do is a simple form submission. When the user is not log in. Display the login control.
Once the user is login display a simple form to be filled. after user click submit. it store in table TEST in SQL Database.
However, I could not seem to reference any control, I made in LogginView to retrieve thos information to store.
I've been trying to find a solution to my problem for about 2 days now, and have found nothing. I am new to .net and not really sure how to accomplish this. I have 4 tables in a database, Vendors, RepairCos, Cons, ConRepairHistory. What I'm trying to do is make a page called SendOutForRepair.aspx that has a insert item template where the first control is a dropdownlist that is attached to the Cons table (got this figured out) and is populated with the Serial Number field. I would like the selection from the dropdownlist to populate the 2nd control (VendorID) that is also from the Cons table....
I've been searching in all the forums, and websites for the last 4 hours without finding a solution for a problem that in the beginning I tought it was an easy one!!!This is my problem, I have a gridview with the following colums: select (link), Room Type (for hotels), and TotalThe total field Is a template field it has in the custom binding property a function: find_total(Eval("Room")) this function makes some calculation and returns the calculated Total value, and shows in the gridview without problems,The thing I cant do is: when the user clicks on the select link I want to get the text of the template field and put in a label control.
I tried, almost all the events of the datagrid, to reference the content of my template field but sometimes I receive a null value (seems that Im looking for the value before the find_total function has been executed) or I get an error "the index is out of range".I dont know how to approach this, I tought It has to be much easier, but Im very confused right now, if anybody knows how to do this
Here two have two grid inner and outergrid, When i am click the Edit Linkbuttom i am able to see the EditItemplate of innergrid.. where i can edit the Value.. When going to update that values in Data base.. i am not able to fine the control . Here is the code
I have a lable in template field of grid which is containing record status from database.
Issue is that text in lable is not being center allign. I have tried setting horizontal allignmen but it do not work on text rather it work on control. I even tried using style sheet in which I apply font and background color but still text is not being cente allign.

I am using gridview. I Added checkboc under itemtemplate.My page works fine. i have set my page according 508 standards. It looks for associated control id for every textbox, check box..etc.
When i check my page by 508 standards its giving form lable is missing for gridview item tamplate checkbox. i tried adding lable inside item tamplate and i set the check box id as Associated control id for the label. eventhough its not going off that error. After setting some text my errors are resolved.
but if add any text item template checkbox alignment is missing. i cann't hidden the lable. If i hidden the label it again show up Form label is missing. how can i add lable without effecting to GV item template checkbox alignment.
I need to create a user control. This control is so simple. It consists of a "Label" control and a "Textbox" control. How to put below template label value in confirm text
I have a sql data souce that returns several columns of data, and they are displayed in a DetailsView on a pretty simple vb.net page. I'm stuggling with one field though for the details view.
It's a template field, and if ClientType=1 (this value is determined else where on the page), then the label in the template field should have Text='<%# Bind("ClientName") %>', but if the ClientType = 0, then the label in the template field should have Text='<%# Bind("ClientTemporaryName") %>'
How do I tell the details view to set the text for ClientName to one or the other?
I am using the detailsview to build an insert with username and password field but the password field doesn't have the password mode. So I used the insert template field option on the detailsview control and place a textbox within the InsertItem template but I could not get it to work. The error "Could not find control 'txtPassword' in ControlParameter 'Password'.
i have used an login control for the users who have not logged in and defined login verification method on the click event of the button but while excuting i do get an error

I have a datagrid, with a template with a textbox in it. I am trying to add a "update" feature to my datagrid, writing my own code. Stuck on one thing though. I try to update the DataSet with this code:

But when running the code, an error message is showed saying that there where no changes to the GridView. This should probably be because the textbox in the gridview is never declared as a datasource for the gridview. How do i make the TextBox in the gridview template a datasource?

I have Gridview that is populated from a data table, there are two additional template columns which are not bound (one checkbox and one textbox). I intend for the users to fill data in the unbound textbox and check the checkbox as needed. (there really is a good reason why the data is constructed in this way)
here is the problem, when the user enteres data into the textbox and hits enter, the gridview appears to postback, which wipes out the checkbox and the data in the textbox.
I tried setting the enable view state of the grid to false, that was supposed to stop postback but no luck. I have the enable view state of the textbox and checkbox set to true and autopostback set to false. but still no luck
so I need to either stop the postback or intercept the enter key in the text box and cancel the action, but that is a bit beyond me at this point
