View 3 RepliesI have a page that is used to add info from a gridview into a user's profile. I have explained my issues after all of the code. Here is the applicable code(s) involved:
Protected Sub AddToCart(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As CommandEventArgs)
For Each gvr In GridViewItems.Rows
Dim txtGiftAmt As TextBox = (CType(gvr.FindControl("txtGiftAmt"), TextBox))
If txtGiftAmt.Visible = True Then
Dim customPrice As String = txtGiftAmt.Text.ToString
'HERE is where I would like to set the new price variable value somehow
End If
Next
Dim scart As New ShoppingCart
scart.AddCartItem(e.CommandArgument.ToString())
Response.Redirect("~/ShoppingCart.aspx")
End Sub
This sub is called by the following button when clicked:
[Code]....
Here is the sub from the ShoppongCart Class named AddCartItem:
[Code]....
Here is the problem that I am having: I have one specific item that allows user's to define their own price (for this item only). By putting this price in a session variable seems to be the easiest way to handle this (at least for me), but the session variable's value always "lags behind". By this I mean that the first time the items is entered, it uses the default value of cartItem.ItemPrice. The second time the same item is added (with the intention of a different price), this new item's cartItem.ItemPrice is set
as the first session("customPrice").
Because the user is selecting his/her own price for this item, I am not worried about lack of security involved with using query string to pass this price, but I can't get the string passed to the ShoppingCart class correctly (shows up null). Is there a way to append this customPrice to the current page's query string before the Response.Redirect takes place? If I understand this correctly, the Response portion "posts back" to the current page before the Redirect sends us on our merry way, right?
I have a package already created that inserts into a few tables but am having trouble cpoming up with the code to append the parameters from the the form to the command.
View 1 RepliesI have a website using two iframes as follows
-----MAIN (default.aspx)
|----------------IFRAME1 (navigation.aspx)
|----------------IFRAME2 (content.aspx)
My issues is this:
I want to click on a button in IFRAME1 that will update the page of IFRAME2.
Also, i want to pass it some parameters (from aspx textboxes) to change the IFRAME2 output ( content.aspx?value=12&name=bob)
I have a gridview where I already have a select link which takes me to different page. I want one more link which will take me to a separate page.
View 7 RepliesI moved some of my old asp pages to new aspx website. In all of the old pages i used (for file example.asp):
Response.Status = "301 Moved Permanently";
Response.AddHeader("Location","http://www.domain.com/example.aspx");
The problem is that when the page domain.com/example.asp?param=value¶m2=value2 is requested - the redirect ain't working...
I currently have the following ActionFilterAttribute:
[Code]....
No matter the code, the point is that when I use the Filter in my controller, I need to pass in values for both "mem" and "redirect", but I don't know the syntax. All examples I've seen only use one parameter. Is there any way to use more than one or should I revise to a different strategy? As an example, I currently use:
[Code]....
where m is an instance of WBMembership. If I tried to add ",redirect=true" inside the (), I get an error.
So i want to run a single .net 4 web page in one folder, but there will be older classic asp files in that folder that have to work.
so say i have..
Order (folder)
orderitem.asp
shoppingcart.asp
i want the shoppingcart to work as classi asp (no change)
But i want the order.asp page to be redirected and parameters for that page to redirect to MVC say ordercontroler.. order actionview and have the redirected link as order/order/23420984 from order/orderitem.asp?part=23420984
Can you append items to a listbox?
View 13 RepliesHow to append a records from one data table to another data table.
In both the data table, I am having a similar columns.
I have a listview that is bound to a datatable on the runtime. The listview has a <ItemTemplate> format which includes a lot of controls. On the page Load I do bind the listview to a datatable. Now, I want to add more ListView Items without databinding the whole listview and maintain the same ItemTamplate.

Essentially, if the file already exists, I want to append an index number to the end of the filename, incrementing upwards from 1. The following almost works, but adds numbers on as it increments upwards:
[Code]....
E.g.
Filename.txt
Filename1.txt
Filename12.txt
Filename123.txt
I want it to do the following:
Filename.txt
Filename1.txt
Filename2.txt
Filename3.txt
there is a better way to code this anyway.
I have 3 cascading dropdownlists. Everything works OK EXCEPT whenever I change the selection in the dropdownlist, the old values from the previous selection are added to the new values (specifically DropDownList id=InstructorList and CourseNumberList)

View 3 RepliesI have a 'Read More' Button attached to the repeater control, and when it is clicked, the list currently displayed
should be remained and the new repeater list should be appended to the bottom of the currently displayed list.
And the 'Read More' Button should now be located below the newly created repeater list and it can be clicked again and the process above continues.
