AJAX :: How To Access The Content Property Of The Control

Apr 9, 2010

I wanted to have the Editor control without the toolbars and found this guide: [URL]

The guide shows you how to make your own class derived from the Editor class, and gives some overload functions to remove the toolbars, and only have the bold and italics button.

I made my own "customEditorSample.aspx", and was able to reproduce what was in the guide.

However, in customEditorSample.cs, when I try to access the Content property of the control, it won't show up in the intellisense.

When using the regular Editor ajax control, I can save the contents to a label by doing:

Label1.Text = Editor1.Content; and "Content" would appear in the intellisense after typing the period after Editor1.

I have a .aspx page that inherits from a class (Hmp.Web.Lib.HmpWebPage which actually inherits System.Web.UI.Page) . The code behind for my page starts like this.

public
partial

Title=""
Language="C#"
MasterPageFile="~/MasterPages/HampMaster.master"
MaintainScrollPositionOnPostback="true"
AutoEventWireup="true"
CodeBehind="FnmMessagesEdit.aspx.cs"
Inherits="HMP.Web.features.FnmMessagesEdit" %>

My problem is that I have a textbox with the following markup ,but cannot access the textbox from codebehind

ID="txtTitle"
runat="server"
Width="236Px"></asp:TextBox>

Also I am using Telerik controls on my page .Do you think that it is the problem?

Code Some Colors In The Style Property Of Some Control?

Mar 10, 2010

VWD 2008 Express. Visual Basic.

I want to code some colors in the style property of some controls. For instance, I want to use some like DarkGoldenrod, which is shown as

ARGB=(255, 184, 134, 11)

How do I convert this to something that I can use in a style property (e.g., style="color: #CCCCCC)? I know how to convert the first three numbers (255, 184, 134) into a six digit hex value, but what do I do with the fourth number (11)?

Web Forms :: Can't Access All Of User Control Types In Code

Jun 27, 2010

I have an asp.net 3.5 WebSite application where I have a bunch of UserControls.

In some scenarios I have a reference of type Control (System.Web.UI.Control) that I need to cast to a specific User Control type (to access public properties and methods of the User Control).

The User Control classes are all declared in "the global scope", i.e. not within a namespace. However, for some reason, only some of my User Controls is possible to type in a code file and show up in intellisense and some just wont. In one scenario I could write the cast in code anyway and the site would build (but the UserControl type name did not shift in to the ordinary class name color (light green, you know) in VS text editor), but when running the page I still get the error message about missing using directive or a reference...

If I use the VS 2010 "Navigate to" feature (Ctrl+,) and search for a type I usually get one hit for the Type/Class name and another for the actual file. When searching on my User Control class names I only get the file hits, no class representation. This even goes for those User Control types I actually can access in code.

I've tried to compare the User Control classes that work and doesn't work, but I can't find any difference, they are all declared as public partial.

Web Forms :: Calender Doesn't Stay On The Screen While Using DatePicker Control

Aug 9, 2010

I've a dataentry screen where I've to give the users aprovision to enter date and for doing that I've used a DatePicker control. The problem is when I'm clicking on the next/prev button to change the month of the calender, the calender is not staying on the screen. So in order to select other month the user has to re click on the button. find below the stepwise description of the problem I'm facing.

1. I click on the calender icon and the calender popps up.

2. Now user tries to navigate months (i.e June to July or June to May) using Next/Prev button of the Calender Control.

3. When Navigating from current month to next/prev month I want the calender to be shown on the screen but actually on click of the Next/Prev button one postback is happening hence I'm loosing the calender from the screen as the calender is loaded again.

4. I'm getting the selected date using onselectedChange event handler.

5. The users will have to click the button again if he wants to navigate to another month.

Is there any way to keep the calender on the screen during the month got changed.

How To Assign A Control Property Value From A Global Variable In Page Code

Aug 31, 2010

I have a control and list of variables and I want in the control property to be assigned to the variable value directly in the page not from the back code, something like this

My global variables

public string Banana = "banana_pie";
public string Apple = "apple_pie";

in my custom control instead of:

<uc:LoadPie id="pieBanana" type="banana_pie" />

To this

<uc:LoadPie id="pieBanana" type="<%=Banana %>" />

so is there a way or just assign the property in page back code.
