Web Forms :: Calender Doesn't Stay On The Screen While Using DatePicker Control

I've a dataentry screen where I've to give the users aprovision to enter date and for doing that I've used a DatePicker control. The problem is when I'm clicking on the next/prev button to change the month of the calender, the calender is not staying on the screen. So in order to select other month the user has to re click on the button. find below the stepwise description of the problem I'm facing.
1. I click on the calender icon and the calender popps up.
2. Now user tries to navigate months (i.e June to July or June to May) using Next/Prev button of the Calender Control.
3. When Navigating from current month to next/prev month I want the calender to be shown on the screen but actually on click of the Next/Prev button one postback is happening hence I'm loosing the calender from the screen as the calender is loaded again.
4. I'm getting the selected date using onselectedChange event handler.
5. The users will have to click the button again if he wants to navigate to another month.
Is there any way to keep the calender on the screen during the month got changed.

everytime the user selects a date from my datepicker the for some reason instead of staying focused on the are the date picker is in it scrolls to the top of the page.
Heres the function located at the bottom of my asp.net page under the

I have user control with one textbox on it and i want to apply datepicker to.

If I click inside text box control the datepicker doesent shows.
If I use the same code for showing datepicker on webform it works. Why? Do I miss something or I need something to add on my control?

Although there are a number of floating menu tuts out there, I can't seem to find one that will simply let a div tag stay in one position with relation to the screen size. I have a div tag in the middle right of my page that must basically stay there even if the user scroll down.

I know this is a silly question, bu I just can't get the ASP.Net Calender Extender work. I am looking at this problem for hours now.
I've downloaded the code from the Asp.net Ajax website and I've added the dll to my toolbox.
This is the code of my page

When I click the TextBox, it behaves like a normal TextBox. It doesn't show the calendar.
Is there something I forget, or is there something I am doing wrong?

Given:
<input id="datepicker" type="text" />
Where the id = datepicker tells the javascript to attach all the datepicker code to the form element, how do I turn this into a server control?
For example:
<input runat="server" id="datepicker" type="text" />
Doesn't work because ASP.net generates it's own ID's.
Edit
<asp:TextBox runat="server" ID="dateTo" class="datepicker"></asp:TextBox>
Renders as
<input name="ctl00$mainContent$dateTo" type="text" id="ctl00_mainContent_dateTo" class="datepicker" />
And doesn't work!

This is probably something very simple that I've over looked, but I have a template field in a details view. In the field there is a html <p> tag that is bound to a database field. The database field is set to nvarchar(max) and will usually be very long. When the text is loaded into the <p> tag, it is not wrapped and does not go onto a new line when it reaches the edge of the screen.

I would like to set a default date, not the current date ( say 31/11/2011) for the calender control.
